The Mummy moved first.
Several strips of cloth unfurled from its arms and elongated, charging at Hazel like harmless clothes. However, they were anything but harmless. The sound of air being sliced made Hazel's hair stand on end.
'Dangerous!'
Twisting mid-run, she sidestepped the attacks and closed in on the Mummy, her battle-axe ready.
Stab!
Just then, the strips of linen she had narrowly avoided came surging back and pierced her shoulders—cutting through her armor like paper.
"Ngh—!"
Grunting, she hastily turned and batted away the white strips now stained with her blood. The Mummy retrieved its weapons, eyeing the crimson gleam as if craving a taste. Though it had no mouth visible.
Tightening her muscles to suppress the bleeding, Hazel charged in again. The cloth strips lunged at her once more, moving like serpents through the air.
