"All these years I have been worrying about you guys, wondering if you are able to cope well with life outside. More than once, I even had dreams of your father reprimanding me for not taking good care of you guys. And that made me so guilty and uneasy.
Initially, he thought that saying something like this would at least earn him some empathy from Zoey. Instead, he heard her sneer.
