Chapter 54 - Chapter 53: Aokiji and Garp Vs Akainu

South Sea – Unknown Island

Just like Esdeath's battlefield, the entire island and surrounding sea had transformed into an icy wasteland. Snow blanketed everything, and the bitter cold hung heavily in the air.

On this frozen stage, three figures clashed like bolts of lightning.

"Great Spitfire!"

"Galaxy Impact!"

BOOM!!

A fist of blazing magma met a strike wrapped in Armament Haki. Garp's blow shattered Akainu's attack and sent the Admiral flying, his molten body erupting into a wave of lava.

But for a Logia user, such an impact meant little.

"Garp!" Akainu's voice thundered as his body quickly reformed from magma. "You dare disobey Daemon Saint's orders to save the wife of the Pirate King?"

More lava erupted from his body like a volcano as he charged at Garp—only to be halted by a sudden cold snap.

"Ice Age!"

Crack—! Stab—!

Ice spread instantly across Akainu's body, locking him in place and hissing as the magma reacted violently. In seconds, he became an ice sculpture.

Alone, that wouldn't have held him for long—especially with the power boost granted by Daemon's enhanced necklace. He could break free from Aokiji's freeze in a heartbeat.

But this wasn't a one-on-one fight.

And Garp… was the strongest among them!

"Brat! Take this—Blue Hole!"

With a roar, Garp grabbed the frozen Akainu and slammed him down with monstrous force.

BOOM!!!

The island cracked violently under the impact, earth shattering and sea rumbling. Fissures spread across the terrain like spiderwebs.

Akainu was driven straight through the island, disappearing into the ground.

"Mr. Garp hasn't betrayed anyone!" Aokiji called out with a pained expression. He knew Akainu wouldn't fall so easily. "Pirate King's wife is innocent! Garp's only doing what he believes is right!"

"You've fallen, Aokiji!!"

With a roar like a volcanic eruption, Akainu burst from the depths, bloodied and furious, magma surging around his legs.

His face twisted in rage. "The families of pirates are never innocent! Daemon Saint is right! Your soft heart will only bring more suffering!"

"What kind of bullshit is that?!" Garp's eyes blazed with fury, muscles bulging like a war god. "Calling the abuse of a poor pregnant woman justice? I'm going to knock some sense into you—and then deal with that damn Celestial Dragon myself!"

BOOM!!

Ice, magma, and overwhelming force exploded again. The island couldn't withstand the intensity. It began collapsing beneath them, breaking apart under the weight of their powers.

Yet even with the island crumbling, their battle continued—now across the frozen sea.

At a distance—

"Monsters… I can't even get close."

Flying Squirrel, phone snail in hand, stared at the chaos in horror. He could only pray.

Daemon Saint… please send someone. Quickly.

Elsewhere

"Garp, Akainu, and Aokiji... fighting each other?"

Yamamoto Mei raised an eyebrow as Daemon ended the call.

"That's something you never see in the original story," she said with interest. "You've really changed the world of One Piece."

"Hardly surprising," Daemon said with a calm, cold smile. "After destroying Panang Island and the Rose Kingdom, I've probably become a tumor in Garp's eyes."

He narrowed his eyes, tone chilling. "Still, that old man's impatient. I wonder what kind of reward I'll get from this mess."

"Need my help?" Mei asked quietly.

Daemon nodded. "Bring Esdeath from the group. Since Rayleigh escaped, she's probably bored anyway."

Mei chuckled. "Even a battle-hungry queen can make you excited? You've got a colorful XP system, Daemon."

Then she looked past him and smirked. "Speaking of which… what about your new little girlfriend?"

Not far off, Stussy approached with Rouge—now dressed in clean clothes, but completely unconscious from exhaustion.

Seeing the worn-down pregnant woman in her arms, Yamamoto Mei's smile deepened with a trace of mockery.

"Really something, aren't you?" she thought. "This scumbag's stamina is inhuman."

Daemon didn't flinch. "Send her back to the Holy Land," he instructed Stussy. "Then contact Vegapunk. Have him create a serum that guarantees she'll give birth to a daughter. Administer it to Rouge."

"…Huh?" Stussy blinked, stunned.

"Didn't you hear what I told her during the global broadcast?" Daemon asked, feigning surprise.

"…I-I did! Understood!"

Stussy's heart skipped. She remembered it well.

If it's a boy—kill it. If it's a girl, name her Nairona-Ann.

She thought it was a joke.

But now…

He really meant it? He actually hates sons that much?

She couldn't help but glance down.

Should I ask Vegapunk for a dose myself…? What if I'm already pregnant?

"Just go," Daemon waved her off, seeing the confusion clouding her mind.

Daemon enters the chat group.

Daemon: "Esdeath, you're not hurt, are you?"

Esdeath: "Minor injuries don't affect my combat effectiveness."

Daemon: "Alright. Wait for me and Mei—we'll be there soon."

Esdeath: "Understood."

Daemon: "Uchiha Miyuki, [picture]. The chat group just reminded me: I left a treasure in the Naruto World. Apparently, that 'Golden Hanzo' is dead. If you've got time, check out Rain Village. Figure out what happened, and I'll reward you with a Devil Fruit."

Miyuki Uchiha: "A Devil Fruit!? I want the Slippery Fruit! I'll give it to my sister—she'll be mine for sure after that!"

Miyuki Uchiha: "But Hanzo actually died? After being buffed by your treasure, he should be super shadow-tier. Could Nagato have taken him out? Or... Madara?"

Daemon: "Either is possible. That's why I need you to investigate. Something's not right."

Miyuki Uchiha: "Fine, fine~ I'll go meet my angel Konan while I'm at it. Hehehe~"

With his head full of fantasies about pretty women, Miyuki accepts the mission without hesitation.

Danger? Please—she has both a Mangekyō Sharingan and Eight Gates. Even Madara wouldn't get a free win.

Outside the chat group…

"We're going to regroup with Esdeath and head toward Akainu, right?"

Yamamoto Mei looked at Daemon, eyes sparkling.

"You can fly now. Wanna race?"

"Aren't you going to lose?"

Daemon gave her a blank look.

"My speed and strength are clearly above yours. You know this."

"Of course." Mei rolled her eyes.

"But let's seal Hercules' belt and my Zanpakutō powers. Only outside powers allowed. Deal?"

"You sure those count as 'other' powers?"

"Absolutely."

She sealed away Daemon's most ridiculous movement-type treasure, confident she could win.

But winning wasn't the point. She just wanted to see how fast Daemon could fly.

"Fine," Daemon shrugged.

"Want to make it interesting with a bet?"

"NOPE."

Mei's answer was instant and firm, her expression twitching in horror.

"Huh? Why the overreaction?"

"...Nothing! Let's just go already!"

Her face flushed. She absolutely wasn't remembering the Naruto-world incident where Daemon made a crazy bet with Luo Hao—one that ended with sword-carved names on skin.

"Okay, okay. No bet then."

Daemon's signal dropped.

BOOM—

Yamamoto Mei vanished. A moment later, she reappeared mid-air, thousands of meters away.

Shunpo—perfected to the point of seeming like teleportation.

"...Daemon didn't move?" she murmured, puzzled.

"Waiting to counter?"

Then she saw it—Daemon's pupils shimmered with divine power.

Right Eye: The Sun.

Left Eye: The Moon.

The Eye of Horus—the divine treasure of the sky god.

"Oh crap—no!"

She recognized the threat instantly.

The Eye of Horus didn't just grant immunity to ranged attacks—it forbade flight.

Even Reishi-based footing in the air counted.

"Let me down!"

Zzzzt—

Daemon's pupils lit up. Gravity snapped.

SPLASH!

Yamamoto Mei plunged into the sea below, soaking wet and absolutely fuming.

"In what logic does using Reishi in the air count as 'flying'!?"

Now cradled in Daemon's arms mid-air, the soaked death goddess grumbled in frustration.

It was the first time she'd been grounded since becoming a Shinigami.

It was like knowing how to move your hands… but suddenly being unable to lift a spoon.

She never wanted to feel this helpless again.

Daemon, still holding her, simply smiled—slow and smug.

The Eye of Horus was more broken than he expected.

Even someone like Yamamoto Mei was grounded like a stone. No counter.

He flew leisurely. Not too fast. He liked the feeling of her in his arms, after all.

Shortly after, they landed near Esdeath.

"...I heard Akainu was injured?"

Daemon approached the two Vice Admirals waiting by the coast.

Ghost Spider and Burning Mountain.

The two men started arguing as soon as they saw him.

"Lieutenant Garp's loyal to the World Government!" said Fire Mountain.

"But he and Aokiji attacked Akainu together!"

"They defied Daemon-sama's orders!" Ghost Spider snapped.

Daemon's expression didn't change.

"Return to Navy HQ. Tell Sengoku… to prepare for his brother's funeral."

"...Funeral!?"

The two Vice Admirals went stiff.

The implication was obvious.

Garp… would die.

Burning Mountain looked horrified.

He was a loyal man—a follower of Sengoku—and Garp's death would destroy their faction's influence.

Ghost Spider, on the other hand, was thrilled.

With Garp out of the way, Akainu's path to Fleet Admiral was wide open.

"Vice Admiral Garp is a hero!" Fire Mountain pleaded.

"He's bled for the Navy all his life!"

The cigar in his mouth dropped. He was that desperate.

Daemon's gaze turned icy.

"...Questioning a Celestial Dragon's will—"

"Capital offense."

Shink—

In one blur of light, Daemon's blade sliced clean through Fire Mountain's neck.

Blood sprayed across the shocked Ghost Spider.

"Wha..."

His eyes trembled. He couldn't process what had just happened.

Daemon casually wiped his treasure weapon clean.

His voice was colder than steel.

"...Next time, know your place, fool."
