Chapter 49 - Chapter 48: Destroying an Entire Island

The Golden Lion soared into the sky, his expression twisted with malevolent glee. "I haven't even killed a celestial dragon yet! This is just getting fun!"

He turned his attention to the horizon, the winds howling around him. "When I strike, Roger should thank me for saving his wife's life!"

With that, he returned to his flagship and shot off in the direction of Daemon, his ship cutting through the air at a terrifying speed. Rayleigh and Garp followed soon after, preparing for the storm to come.

But Daemon, always ahead of the game, spoke up again during the live broadcast, his voice calm and methodical.

"I'm the only one I'm going to arrest, but because of Portagass D. Rouge's failure to cooperate, the Navy has wasted countless resources in the South Sea," he said, his words carrying an icy edge. "And that's something that doesn't sit well with me."

The words seemed innocent enough at first, but then Daemon's demeanor shifted. He turned on the live stream, activating the chat group with a single, purposeful gesture.

The crowd watching around the world, from pirates to civilians, all watched in confusion and fear as Daemon spoke once more, the air thick with menace.

"Tear the sky!" he commanded, his voice booming with an unearthly power.

"Smash, O stars!" he continued, his tone rising to a thunderous crescendo. "All things in heaven are mine, and all that rules the stars is mine!"

The atmosphere around Daemon crackled with raw, divine energy. His body swelled with power as black thunder began to coil around him, forming into serpentine shapes that flickered like deadly dragons.

Even though he was miles away from the live stream, his power surged, and the air itself seemed to bow to him.

Whitebeard and other world-renowned powerhouses couldn't help but widen their eyes in disbelief as Daemon's form began to glow with an otherworldly light.

The thunder that surged from Daemon's body was no ordinary storm. It was divine, a weapon of destruction capable of obliterating entire nations. He held it in his hand, a spear made of crackling black thunder that seemed almost alive.

A satisfied grin crept onto Daemon's face, though his mind remained focused. The power within the spear was destructive—enough to wipe out entire countries.

And yet, he knew that the current form of the weapon could only destroy a small island, not the world itself. But that would change once he uttered the final incantation.

"Go ahead!" he declared, his muscles bulging as he hurled the Thunder Spear toward the island of Pochi.

With a final, thunderous proclamation, Daemon shouted, "I am the Thunder that tears the stars!"

The weapon soared through the sky, leaving a trail of black lightning in its wake, and then—

Boom!

The deafening sound of thunder reverberated across the world, and the live broadcast screen was consumed by a raging storm of black thunder. The shockwaves from the explosion spread, causing the very earth to tremble. It felt as though a massive, unseen giant was shaking the planet.

On Pochi Island, the sky tore open, and the spear's fury unleashed upon the island. Black thunder rained down like a torrential storm, washing over the island and its surrounding waters, suffocating everything in its path.

The ghost spider, who had been watching from a distance, felt the very ground beneath him shake. He knew what this meant, even as he fell to his knees. The power Daemon wielded was beyond comprehension. He had never witnessed anything so destructive.

An Island, once home to tens of thousands of people, was now nothing but a crater in the ocean. The black thunder had evaporated the island, leaving only a massive pit where it once stood. The surrounding waters boiled from the intense heat, and a monstrous whirlpool began to form as the sea rushed in.

People around the world, watching in shock and horror, were left speechless. The island was gone. Vanished. As if it had never existed.

"What... what just happened?" came the confused murmur from the crowd.

"Is that a legendary ancient weapon?" someone asked in disbelief. "No... even Whitebeard couldn't destroy an island with a single strike..." ( Retard who doesn't know sh..)

"Is this the true power of the Celestial Dragons?" others whispered, dread creeping into their voices. "How could anyone wield such destructive force?"

Whitebeard, the world's strongest man, clenched his fists as his sons watched him in silence. His own eyes were wide with an unfamiliar fear. Even he felt the weight of the power Daemon had just unleashed.

Marco, captain of the first division, looked at Whitebeard with concern. "Ohh Daddy..."

Whitebeard, never one to show weakness, let out a hearty laugh, though it lacked its usual confidence. "It's alright, Marco. A little thunder can't scare me!" He gripped his naginata tightly, his voice booming. "After Roger's death, I'm the strongest! There's no need to fear some brat of the Celestial Dragons!"

The crew rallied behind him, their spirits lifted by his words. "That's right! Daddy's Tremor Fruit can take anything down!"

Back in the Navy headquarters, the mood was far more somber. The Marshal let out a deep sigh, while Sengoku, Tsuru, and the other high-ranking officers fell into uneasy silence.

Zefa, the former admiral, muttered to himself in a hoarse voice, "Such power... it's the kind of strength that makes you feel hopeless."

Meanwhile, in the chat group, the mood was more relaxed, with users commenting on Daemon's display of power.

Miyuki Uchiha typed, "Looks like I need to thank Daemon for not killing me."

Luo Hao commented, "The Star Treasure is truly a force to be reckoned with. Even at its current level, it's overwhelming."

Jibril added with excitement, "Amazing! Daemon, you're now second on my list of most powerful beings, right after Lord Artox!"

Erina Nakiri frowned, typing, "This is cruel..."

Kasumigaoka Utaha noted, "Indeed. But this is typical of the Celestial Dragons. Extravagant, cruel, and without a care for the lives of others."

Esdeath, ever the cold one, grinned. "Boring. Are the Golden Lion and Rayleigh finally going to make their move?"

Yamamoto Mei's response was succinct, "Wait for Rouge. They won't come until she does."

Daemon ignored the comments, his attention elsewhere. Despite the immense energy he had just released, he felt only a slight fatigue. The enhanced version of his immortal body had withstood the power he unleashed without strain.

He turned to the ghost spider, who knelt before him in fear.

Daemon's voice was calm, almost friendly as he spoke. "You saw what happened. This is just the beginning. Every thirty minutes, if Portgas D. Rouge doesn't surrender to the Navy, I'll destroy another island."

The ghost spider dared not speak. He simply nodded, his heart pounding.

Daemon's eyes softened for a moment as he glanced at the live camera. "Ms. Rouge, I advise you to think carefully. Your choices affect the lives of countless people. Please, make a wise decision."

The live stream continued, showing the devastated faces of millions around the world. Civilians wept, and anger rippled through the crowds. They shouted in frustration, some turning their fury on Rouge herself.

"Is this woman really worth all these innocent lives?" they asked. "How can she let so many die just for her sake?"

As the hours passed, Daemon's threat loomed over the world like a storm. Thirty minutes later, his prediction came true.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Rouge. It seems you've made the wrong choice," Daemon spoke softly, as if speaking to an old friend.

The ghost spider, trembling, didn't dare to speak.

Daemon's voice grew colder. "Prepare to set sail for the Kingdom of Roses."

The ghost spider stiffened. The Kingdom of Roses was a small, independent nation, famous for its tourism. But now, it was about to face the wrath of Daemon. A kingdom with a population of over 100,000 would be his next target.

With a low whisper of "Yes, my Lord," the ghost spider obeyed.

As Daemon's ship neared the Kingdom of Roses, he marveled at the beauty of the island. "A shame," he muttered. "These people who refuse to join the World Government, to give their heavenly gold, will now pay the price for their foolishness."

With that, the Star Treasure—once again in Daemon's grasp—formed into a massive spear of divine thunder, crackling with destructive force.

"Boom!!"

The entire island was consumed by the thunder, turning to ash in an instant. The rose-filled shores were no more, swept away by the devastating power Daemon wielded. The Kingdom of Roses, known for its vibrant tourism and beauty, was now obliterated.

Daemon's voice echoed once more, soft and steady. "That's two. I trust you understand the message, Ms. Rouge?"

The world, stunned into silence once again, could only watch as Daemon continued his relentless path of destruction.

Even the ruthless pirates who had mercilessly decimated entire villages were struck silent in fear by Daemon's presence.

Some civilians broke into tears right on the spot.

A growing wave of voices echoed through the crowd.

But they weren't directing their anger at Daemon.

It was Rouge, Daemon's target, who was being cursed out.

"Damn it, is that woman, Rouge, going to kill everyone? Someone, do something!"

"She's the wife of the pirate king, she doesn't care about the lives of regular civilians!"

"That damn Pirate king! He should let the Navy tear him apart piece by piece!"

"Exactly! If it weren't for the two of them, how could the South Sea have been turned into this hell?!"

The voices of discontent grew louder and more fervent.

It was clear that Daemon was wreaking havoc, but people couldn't help but direct their frustration at Rouge.

Had she only acted sooner, perhaps those innocent lives wouldn't have been lost.

It was a grim realization spreading through the masses.

Meanwhile, in the New World aboard the Whitebeard Pirates' ship, Marco clenched his fists, his face filled with disbelief. "What is this madness? He can unleash such devastating attacks continuously? And look at how relaxed he seems—it's like he hasn't exerted any energy at all!"

Whitebeard remained silent, his face darkened with concern. His crew could feel the tension in the air, aware that this new threat was no small matter.

Elsewhere, the Golden Lion, Rayleigh, and Garp, all in the South Sea, shared similar grim thoughts.

None of them knew if Daemon was a Devil Fruit user or if he had somehow gained control of one of the ancient weapons. But what was undeniable was that Daemon was a threat—an immense and dangerous one.

Garp's heart was torn.

As a righteous Vice Admiral, he should want Rouge to step forward and end the chaos Daemon had started, saving the innocent lives hanging by a thread.

But there was more to it than that.

Because of his old promise to Roger, Garp didn't want Rouge to give herself up.

Everyone knew what would happen if Daemon, a Celestial Dragon, got his hands on her. It would be worse than a death sentence.

Rayleigh and the Golden Lion, on the other hand, were less conflicted.

They cared little for the lives of civilians. The death toll didn't bother them. If Rouge stayed hidden, that would be for the best.

But if she did decide to turn herself in, they wouldn't hesitate to intervene.

A pampered Celestial Dragon, who could barely move when faced with a beautiful woman? Even with overwhelming power, his combat experience couldn't hold a candle to that of battle-hardened pirates like them.

Back in the chat group:

Miyuki Uchiha: "Do you really think Rouge will surrender?"

Sakura Tosaka: "I doubt it. She's pregnant, after all."

Luo Hao: "It doesn't matter. You reincarnators know where she's hiding. Whether she surrenders or not, her fate is sealed."

Erina Nakiri: "What will Daemon do with her? Will he kill her and the child?"

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "No."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Though Daemon is a vile scumbag, he has a soft spot for beauties. He's likely to spare her, maybe even treat her well. He tends to favor women like her."

Esdeath: "This is maddening! Why hasn't she come forward yet? If she doesn't, the pirates won't either. Yamamoto Mei, I'm going after Rayleigh soon!"

Yamamoto Mei: "Got it. I'll take on the Golden Lion, and Garp will be left for Akainu, who should be on his way. A naval hero like him deserves to pay for crossing Daemon."

Yamamoto Mei: "But I think Rouge will turn herself in soon. From what we know, she's a gentle woman, and the situation is clearly growing more dire."

"Poroporu—"

Just as Yamamoto Mei finished speaking, the phone bug aboard Daemon's ship rang.

"Daemon Saint!"

A maid hurriedly brought the phone bug to Daemon.

"Ah, thank you. Let's hear it."

Daemon took the phone bug, and a voice—a familiar one—came through.

"Daemon Saint, it's me."

The phone bug's image flickered, showing the face of Stussy, her voice as alluring as ever.

"Portgas D. Rouge has surrendered."
