Chapter 10 - A Vengeance That Still Smolders

As chaos broke out inside the shopping mall due to the rampaging monsters, Ilyas went after Ivan.

Ivan, trying to escape the turmoil, was confronted by several Demigons. Without much effort, he killed them using his power.

"Why did this have to happen? All my hard work was destroyed in one day. I know. This is all because of that fucking kid. If I had known it would be like this, I should have killed him from the start."

Suddenly, a voice called out from behind Ivan.

"Oi, you bastard."

Ivan turned around and saw Ilyas, his entire body covered in blood.

"Do you have any idea how damn hard it was to kill all those monsters while chasing after you?" Ilyas said.

"This is all your doing, isn't it?! Everything I built from the ground up—ruined because of you!"

"That's your own damn fault…"

"… You went and captured all those monsters, locked them up in a place that could fall apart easily, and didn't even think about the consequences." Ilyas replied with a slightly mocking tone.

"No, this isn't my fault. I didn't do anything wrong. You don't know anything about me. I can control them using..."

"Hypnosis." Ilyas cut in.

Ivan was stunned that Ilyas knew about his power.

"How do you..."

"Ivan Ahriman. 27 years old. At the age of 5, your parents divorced due to financial problems and were sent to an orphanage..."

"...At age 12, you had a criminal record for killing your own parents and were imprisoned for a year..."

"...At age 16, sentenced to death by hanging for burning down the orphanage he was raised in. However, he managed to escape from prison and hid in Kuala Kubu Bharu..."

"...Wow, what an interesting backstory… from a fucking trash like you."

"Who are you? How do you know all about my past?" Ivan asked.

"I'm nobody. Just a school student with a life already ruined."

"Heh... a life already ruined, huh? Come here. I'll make your life even more ruined!"

Ivan quickly launched an attack towards Ilyas. Ilyas dodged Ivan's strike.

"Boxing, huh?"

Even though Ivan attacked Ilyas repeatedly, none of his strikes landed.

Ivan even used his hypnosis power on Ilyas, but nothing happened to him.

"Why isn't any of my attacks landing?"

Ivan launched a full-force punch towards Ilyas's face. Ilyas managed to block the attack with nothing but his face.

"Pathetic."

His eyes pierced Ivan with a sharp, cynical gleam, as if silently mocking him, filled with disdain for what he saw.

Ivan pulled his hand back and managed to land a punch on Ilyas' body. However, Ilyas felt nothing from Ivan's strike.

"What the hell am I hitting? Why is his body as hard as stone? Is he even human?"

Ivan stepped back, realizing who he was up against.

"Is that it? Great. My turn."

Ilyas dropped into a stance, preparing to strike Ivan.

"Peek-a-boo! Impossible. That technique is only suited for someone with fast reflexes, physical endurance, and the ability to dodge and counterattack quickly and precisely..."

"... There's no way that kid could master that technique. He must be bluffing."

However, Ivan's judgment proved wrong. Ilyas had perfected the peek-a-boo technique since his past life.

In the blink of an eye, Ilyas was right in front of Ivan, delivering a powerful strike to his solar plexus, leaving Ivan momentarily stunned.

"What the fuck just hit me?" A truck?!"

Ilyas didn't stop there. He unleashed a flurry of blows on Ivan, injuring him severely and shattering several of his ribs.

Ivan lay on the floor, unable to get up. He tried to use his hypnosis power on Ilyas once more, but it failed.

"Stop wasting your time. Your power is too weak to hypnotize me."

"Who are you? Why are you making me suffer like this?"

"Because you're about to die. I'll tell you..."

Ilyas leaned in close to Ivan's face.

"...I am the one who has killed you 18,970 times."

Ivan was left confused by what Ilyas had said.

"Because you've used your power on me multiple times, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't use my power as well, right?"

Ivan suddenly found himself in a dark place, where no light could shine.

Ivan wandered aimlessly there. Ivan was then taken to an alley filled with blood and bodies.

Ivan recognized all the corpses around him—they were the bodies of his parents and the people from the orphanage.

The sight filled Ivan with fear, and he ran through the hallway without knowing where it led.

Ivan reached the end of the hallway. Without realizing it, he was now inside a cage—the arena where the prisoners' Battle Royale took place.

He tried to escape, but the hallway he had just come through had vanished, and there was no way out.

When Ivan tried to use the cage door to escape, the cage began to expand, making it harder for him to reach the edges.

He called out for help from the people outside the cage—but everyone outside turn into rotting corpse.

Ivan suddenly found himself face-to-face with Ilyas, who was now standing right behind him. Ivan tried to plead with him.

"Please get me out of here, Ilyas! I've changed. I won't do any evil things anymore. Please... get me out of this horrible place!"

Ilyas just stood there in silence. Ivan looked at him—but it wasn't Ilyas he saw. Instead, he saw a shapeless black figure, showing only its eyes.

The eyes were empty, devoid of any emotion—but there was something terrifying in their gaze, as if they were hiding an unspoken threat, just waiting for the right moment to erupt.

That gaze filled Ivan with a terror far worse than the death sentence he once received.

AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!

Ivan tried to run from that shadow figure, but the cage shrank smaller when he attempt to escape.

In the end, Ivan could only collapse in front of the dark figure, unable to do anything.

"Help me. Someone! HELP ME!!"

No matter how loudly Ivan screamed, no one could hear him. Realizing this, hopelessness took over.

The shadow figure began to move toward Ivan.

Ivan crawled backward, trying to escape the black shadow. But he had already reached the end of the cage.

The shadow figure then entered Ivan's body.

At first, Ivan didn't feel anything in his body, but in that very moment...

AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!

Sharp spikes suddenly pierced through Ivan's body, causing him to scream in pain. A total of 57 spikes erupted from his body.

However, that didn't kill Ivan. His body slowly began to heal from the wounds he had just endured.

Once his wounds healed, the sharp spikes pierced Ivan's body again. Ivan endured this repeatedly, feeling as though he would rather die than continue to suffer in this way.

"Please... forgive... me..."

"God can forgive His servant who truly repents..."

"...But, unfortunately..."

"...I AM NOT GOD."

Unknowingly, everything Ivan was experiencing was just an illusion planted in his mind by Ilyas' power. His real body had long been brutally killed by Ilyas.

Ilyas brought Ivan's corpse to the place where the monsters were and handed his body over to them.

The monsters barred Ilyas' exit, leaving him with little alternative except to slaughter all of them.

Khai, Tok Chen, and several other prisoners finally managed to reach the place where Ilyas had instructed them to gather.

Khai looked around the area, searching for Ilyas.

Ilyas walked towards them, covered in monster blood. They were shocked to see Ilyas drenched in blood and the corpses of the monsters.

They finally made it out safely, without any casualties. Ilyas watched as Khai and the prisoners carried Mamat and Khan out.

"What are you doing bringing these two?" Ilyas asked.

"Hehe... I want to get revenge on this bald-headed son of a bitch." Khai replied.

"What about the other one?"

"Oh, this guy. I brought him because I think, out of all these crazy people, he's the only one who's sane."

Ilyas had no problem letting Khan live because, in his past life, Khan was the only one who treated Ilyas and the other prisoners kindly.

Khai stripped Mamat of his shirt and pants, writing the words "premium bald" on his body with a permanent marker, then hung Mamat upside down from the flagpole.

Ilyas and Tok Chen could only shake their heads at Khai's childish behavior.

Tok Chen wanted to ask Ilyas about the events in the cage earlier, but he decided to hold back his intention

Khai approached Tok Chen to ask him something.

"Tok, where do you want to stay after this?"

"I thinks I'll just stay at my old house. I'm getting old, don't want to burden anyone else..."

"... You continue your journey to Teluk Intan."

"Alright, Tok. If we have the chance, we'll come visit here again from time to time."

"Hahaha… Alright." Tok Chen replied with a warm smile.

Before continuing their journey, they gathered their food supplies.

Once they were ready, they continued their journey toward Teluk Intan.

"Thank you!"

"Bye bye!"

"Hope you both get there safely!"

The prisoners thanked them and bid farewell, grateful for being saved by Ilyas and Khai.
