In a very lush forest Master Sage walked leisurely with his magic staff, he was carried away by the comfortable atmosphere especially with the melodious singing of birds and the friction of tree branches blowing in the cool wind.
But unfortunately the cozy atmosphere immediately disappeared, a cold chill was suddenly present carried by the soft wind that was previously carried by the wind.
"Who! Quickly show yourself!" he said as he tapped his magic staff on the ground and made the cracks of his wooden staff glow white.
Sure enough shortly afterwards a man emerged from behind the tree wearing a white shirt with a leather vest adorned with gold rope knots on both shoulders, as well as a three-tiered gold necklace that chained a sword in the center (if you weren't observant then you would think it was a cross).
The man was already in his nineties (roughly the same age as Master Sage) but still looked like he had a well-built body, which was 180 degrees compared to Master Sage's physical condition which was now thin and weak. Despite his advanced age, the hair on his head, beard and mustache still retained their natural black color and were only slightly white in some parts.
He smiled meaningfully at Master Sage, "hmm... I didn't expect to find you here Sage, what a coincidence"
"no need to be familiar Lucan!, I know you noticed me at the magic market earlier!" replied Master Sage.
The man called Lucan nodded, he immediately swung his hand to the back of his waist with his right hand holding his left wrist, "heh... you haven't changed, still as sharp as ever... oh yeah, how are you? Good?"
Master Sage tightened his grip on his magic staff, he looked back with an angry gaze, "no need to beat around the bush! I know what you want"
"heh..." at that answer Lucan shook his head, then replied, "hmm... at this age I don't want any trouble but what can I do?"
After Lucan finished his words, he immediately jumped to where Master Sage was then he immediately slashed with a rusty sword that he didn't know where to hide.
The Master Sage who was ready immediately tapped his magic staff and a transparent wind wall appeared to block Lucan's slash.
Lucan of course noticed the sudden appearance of the wall and slashed at the spot and when Lucan slashed at the wind wall it was clear that a slash mark hanging in the air was left behind.
The two of them looked at each other intensely as if they knew that as soon as one of them let his guard down, death would come for them.
But at this moment Lucan suddenly changed his expression, he smiled and acted relaxed and he said, "hey... so tense, why don't we relax a little? At least for a reunion with old friends?"
But his words were answered with a swing of the master sage's hand that made a strong gust of wind accompanied by the sound of broken glass along with a glimpse of broken glass that was pointed at Lucan.
Meanwhile Lucan immediately swung his sword back and forth and it seemed that he slashed at the glass shards that were pointing at him, but the glass shards immediately disappeared when hit by his slash.
After finishing Master Sage tapped his staff and brought up a magic circle right in front of him, "don't try to deceive me, the look in your eyes still emits a very thick killing aura and don't call me a partner! My partner is long dead."
Lucan smiled at the answer, "hey... am I not here?"
"huh... what's in front of me is the ego and arrogance of a knight who threw away his knightly nature!" he said, immediately activating his magic.
From the magic circle made by Master Sage, a swallow appeared whose entire body was made of lightning and immediately shot towards Lucan, not just one but tens to hundreds of lightning birds shot towards Lucan.
Meanwhile Lucan immediately made his sword coated by some kind of aura that came out of his arm, he was no less quick to swing his sword to slash the swarm of lightning swallows.
"Damn it, you're still as tough as ever, aren't you?" he said as the swallows kept trying to attack him.
When one of the birds hit his back, an electric shock immediately spread throughout his body.
But even so there was not a single scratch left, not even the back that was hit by the lightning swallow. When he knew he was hit he immediately released his entire body and his attack speed increased dramatically, even now he could get close to the Master Sage.
Close enough that he could slash at Master Sage's magic circle and make it break, he slashed once more and this time it was for his opponent. Master Sage didn't just give up, he released several magic circles the size of his palm and immediately floated towards several parts of his body such as; his back, hands and feet. He also swung his wooden staff to block Lucan's sword slash.
"TANG!" the echo of metal meeting hard objects rang out loudly, and now the two old men faced each other with the intention of killing each other. Now Master Sage with his wooden Staff and Lucan with his rusty sword were seen holding each other back.
Lucan grinned with an aura that could even raise the hair on his head, "never mind Sage... just hand over the child, and enjoy the riches and glory that come infinitely!"
Master Sage gave Lucan a serious look and replied sternly, "You killed his parents... and now you want his offspring!? Dream on!"
Instantly Master Sage's wooden staff glowed and changed from being a wooden staff (shaped like Gandalf's staff). now it immediately turned into a golden staff with carvings depicting elements in nature, the top end was in the form of an inverted root dome which was also a throne for a blue diamond which around it was a cloud-like object that kept moving around and changing various shapes, while at the bottom it was shaped like a bamboo shoot that was ready to rise to the sky.
Seeing that Lucan was not to be outdone he smiled cruelly and tightened his grip on his sword, "I knew you wouldn't find this easy, and I'm on your game!"
Lucan's rusty sword also glowed and changed. The sword that was previously full of rust (shaped like the Ulfberht Sword), was now an all-black sword with a blade engraved with barely visible black flames reflecting a terrible silver light, with the base of the knop in the form of a blood-red crystal, and the hilt became like a collection of snakes wrapped around each other and the cross shaft was a collection of hands sticking out like the hands of sinners asking to be freed from hell.
Both of them unleashed a force that caused a huge explosion that instantly sent them flying, but both of them were able to land leisurely and it showed that they were probably of equal strength as they could still stand facing each other steadily after surviving the explosion that leveled the forest with a radius of 3km.
Yes, now the forest where they fought before has been ravaged just because of the collision of mana energy inside both of their bodies.
Lucan stood with a black and red colored aura radiating all over his body as if showing off his cruelty, his sharp and red glowing eyes continued to look at Master Sage with killing intent, "nature singing staff? .... I thought the magic staff was broken, I didn't expect it to be intact like before"
Master Sage who although he did not emit an aura like Lucan's, he still stood tall and was not affected by the pressure that was carried away. But even though he couldn't give off an aura like Lucan's there was a dense mana burning throughout his body that rivaled Lucan's aura, "The sword of hell's scream?... I didn't think it hadn't changed owners yet"
The two of them stared at each other sharply until Lucan swung his sword and slashed the empty air, but it wasn't just an ordinary slash, when Lucan swung his sword a crescent-shaped slash trail shot straight towards Master Sage and cut off anything in his way.
On the other hand Master Sage tapped his magic Staff on the ground and a giant black hand emerged from the ground and blocked the slash, once the two met an explosion was once again created.
"BOOM" an explosion that now instantly shot chunks of rock and shockwaves around.
The explosion was also a serious battle between a Magic Master and a Sword Master whose power was equivalent to a natural disaster.
