In a distant corner of the mountain, where only the echo of the wind could reach, Alpha stood atop a towering rock, watching the city from afar.
His eyes were half-closed, his face devoid of emotion… but then his chest suddenly trembled and a loud, thunderous laugh burst from him, shaking the mountain with its force.
"How utterly ridiculous…" he muttered in a deep voice between bouts of laughter.
"A patriarch plotting to kill his own leader… an heir kneeling at his father's feet… a disciple slaughtered in cold blood… and everyone thinks they stand on the side of truth!"
He laughed again, bending forward from the sheer intensity of it.
"Oh… I can't take it anymore. I've held back my laughter for too long… This place, this world it's even more pathetic than I imagined!"
Then he turned away lightly, as if everything that had just unfolded in the capital was nothing more than a comedy sketch.
