I was lying on the floor covered by blood, leaning against the wall with a small crater, holding my chest in pain, just screaming.
I looked at the middle of the hall, he wasn't even looking at me, just weirdly staring at the door that led to the other rooms of the house.
"Kai!? WHAT'S GOING ON!?"
Amari and Sayuri appeared running, and he was there just staring at them.
Amari shouted.
"K-KAI?! W-WHO ARE YOU!?"
Sayuri widened her eyes, completely frightened.
"K-Kai W-Wait he is... T-The Racoon..."
The man, without moving an inch, with his hands forward and down, one holding a knife, said.
"Wrong. I am not the Racoon. I am the Racoon's protector. The Racoon and I are different things. I protect the Racoon."
Sayuri and Amari got very nervous, looking at me in panic.
Amari said to Sayuri.
"S-Sayuri use one of your spells!"
"I-I left my staff in the kitchen... Still, i can't use very well in a closed place..."
Amari gritted her teeth.
"S-Shit... But our priority is Kai! Finger Ring!!"
She increased the size of one of the rings, towards me.
But right before it hit me, the man simply cut it in half with his knife, in a very fast motion.
After doing that, he just kept looking at the ground, half of the chains returned to Amari.
"Protect. That's my only goal. Im nothing. Besides the Protector of the Raccoon."
He seemed to be muttering to himself, not speaking loudly or trying to make us hear.
Amari trembled a little seeing the absurd speed of that man.
"S-Shit... Kai is going to die of hemorrhage soon, I need to do something... Ah wait wheres Sayuri--"
Sayuri quickly returned, now holding her staff.
"I returned!! Now holding my precious weapon!!"
The man simply ignored her, just looking straight to the floor.
Amari whispered in Sayuri's ear.
"Please buy me some time, or take him away... I need space to save Kai!"
Sayuri nodded with her head.
"Understood!"
She pointed her staff at the man, the man only moved his eyes on her direction.
"Behold! The power of a wizard! Bium!"
She launched the quick white beam towards the man.
The man simply dodged it with extreme ease.
Sayuri looked in shock to him.
"H-He just... O-Ok, dodge this!!"
She started to shot a lot of "Bium's" towards the man, who was simply dodging them all.
The lights come, he dodged and then landed on the wall behind him.
At this moment, MelMel appeared and just sat on the ground, watching everything with a smile on his face.
After giving some shots, Sayuri smiled nervously.
"Ha! You you fell into my trap! Amari!!"
Amari quickly lengthened the chain of a ring that came toward me, wrapped it around me, and pulled me toward her.
The man was quite far away, so he couldn't do anything.
"Well done Sayuri! I knew you could do that!"
"Yeah, no problem!"
Amari started to run to a corridor, the chain from Sayuri's little finger (one of the ones she didn't used yet) went into my chest.
It literally pierced my body like it was nothing, and to be honest, I didn't even feel any pain.
Sayuri said to me.
"That's my little fingers power, heal... Takes some time tho."
She then took a glare at Sayuri an-
"S-SAYURI?!"
The man was on her front, face to face.
Then he simply moved back, revealing her full body.
There was blood coming out of her forehead, with a hole in it.
She was stabbed by him, right in her head.
What is going on.
I quickly screamed in despair, completely scared, watching my friend's body simply fall to the ground.
Amari didn't stop running, continuing to run forward, carrying me in her arms.
"A-AMARI!! STOP! GET BACK, S-SHE IS H-"
"L-LETS JUST HIDE OR SOMETHING!"
I looked at her face, she was terrified, completely scared and afraid, almost crying.
"I-I can heal her after! B-But lets just focus on-"
She suddenly stopped.
I looked down at her chest, and saw a tip of a knife.
She immediately dropped me to the ground, while a hand grabbed her by the head and stabbed her 3 more times in the chest, before simply throwing her body away.
On the ground, I don't even feel the pain from the stabbing anymore, not because of Amari's healing, which in fact didn't even have time to do practically anything, but from fear, confusion, anger, despair, anguish... So many things combined into one.
This is not fair, im not in this world because i wanted to. What im doing here? Why i can't just play football with my friends? Why i can't see them? Why im here?!
This is not fair, not fair...
I looked at the masked man, who simply stared back at me without showing any reaction.
"Why?... W-Who are you whats going on... I-Is this real?"
I mumbled that, as tears began to fall from my eyes.
"What is the Racoon. Who is the Racoon. The Racoon is bigger than you think. The Racoon scares me. I wanted to be the Racoon. The first Racoon. This is not just for revenge."
He raised the knife, ready to plunge it into my heart.
But just as he was about to stab down...
"Okay, that's enough."
I heard a voice saying that from afar.
Suddenly, the man's was chopped off to the ground.
I looked on in extreme surprise and confusion, watching the rest of the man's body fall to the ground.
"You're not supossed to die... today."
Then, at the start of the corridor where we had fought the Raccoon man, something appeared, walking along the ground.
The cat, MelMel.
He kept walking, and then stopped at my side.
"Im sorry but, I won't answer many questions..."
I was so exhausted, confused and terrified by everything that had happened, that a talking cat honestly didn't even scare me that much. Maybe it was something from that world, I don't know.
"M-MelMel?... No, who are you..."
The cat answered with a grin.
"You gave this cat the name of MelMel right? But well, that's not me. So please, when everything is back to normal, just please remember that the fat one is just a cat, and has nothing to do with me. Im in his body."
"E-Everything back to normal?... Y-You will turn back everything to before?"
"Yes yes, literally that."
"So you will... save them 2?"
The cat tilted his head a bit.
"Ah? Why should i? You're the only one I care."
My eyes widened when I heard this.
"Y-You what? N-No! I-IF YOU'RE GOING TO SAVE ME, SAVE THEM TOO!"
The cat stopped for a bit, then made a face of pure pleasure and satisfaction.
"Oh my oh my oh my! That's the reaction! How I love to hear that! How Iove you Kai!"
He came close to my face, speaking very quickly and frantically, like a madman.
"KAI KAI KAI KAI KAI, YOURE SO PERFECT! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE HIM! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH KAI! I want you to find me so badly... OH I LOVE YOU SO MUCH KAI! I WANT TO BE WITH YOU, BE YOU! I WANT TO CHAT WITH YOU, I WANT TO LIVE WITH YOU, TO BE WITH YOU FOREVER! I L-O-V-E Y-O-U K-A-I."
The cat said this last words right on my face, literally face to face.
He seemed so desperated, saying with his creepy face as always.
I don't understand anything that's going on, I just want to wake up and this is all a dream.
The cat take a few steps back and took a deep breath.
"My my, i cant stop to admire you..."
He took a look at me.
"What a perfect face... Even in suffering, I only see perfection in you!"
He took another deep breath.
"We will make this secret... And please, find me, my idiot."
And so, I felt my neck being cut, with that cat looking at me with eyes of admiration and happiness.
I could feel that somehow, my neck gaiter was not cut or even dirty, even with my neck being cut in half.
This cat, really loves me.
It's a strange feeling like my neck is being cut, but I know I'm not going to die.
At the same time, I'm not relaxed, quite the opposite, I don't know what's going to happen, if I'll ever see Amari and Sayuri again, or my friends...
I'm so confused, and at the same time so scared.
Why is this happening to me?
