Chapter 72 - Ao Debiao, the Tough Steward

Behind a wide table at the front of the main hall, several elegantly dressed and delicate-looking young women stood in quiet formation.

On either side of the table were finely crafted wooden staircases.

When they saw Yu Yuanzhen and Yu Tianming, the girls were clearly surprised.

Moon Pavilion typically only received nobles from the empire, but the robes on the two newcomers clearly identified them as members of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. What were people from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan doing here to learn noble etiquette?

Yu Yuanzhen ignored their surprise and calmly led Yu Tianming over to the rest area.

He called over a tall girl and said, "Inform Tang Yuehua that the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan is here to visit."

The girl hesitated for a moment, her elegant brows furrowing slightly. "But…"

Yu Yuanzhen leaned back in the chair and said coolly, "Just go deliver the message."

The girl looked at Yu Yuanzhen, then at Yu Tianming. Perhaps influenced by the powerful aura the two exuded from long-standing authority, she didn't argue further.

Her eyes flickered slightly, then she nodded. "Please wait a moment."

With that, she quickly ascended the staircase to the upper floor.

Before long, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from upstairs.

Hearing the noise, Yu Yuanzhen frowned slightly.

Three men descended the stairs. The leader wore a purple robe and appeared to be middle-aged, followed by two tall and slender men in blue robes.

All three seemed to be around the same age.

The purple-robed man followed the tall girl's lead and descended the stairs in quick, light steps.

When they reached Yu Yuanzhen and Yu Tianming, the tall girl bowed slightly toward the purple-robed man. "Chief Steward Ao De, these two gentlemen wish to see the Madam."

The man in purple nodded slightly and looked toward the two. Though his expression was respectful, pride flickered in his eyes—pride born from standing behind what he believed was the top power in the empire.

"I am Ao Debiao. The Madam is currently receiving other honored guests. If you gentlemen from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan have any matters, you may speak to me."

Although Yu Tianming had been away from Slaughter City for nearly a month, he still hadn't completely suppressed the killing intent within him. Seeing this man's condescending demeanor ignited a fire in his heart.

A wave of killing intent surged silently from him. Ao Debiao, the middle-aged man in purple, recoiled as if shocked by electricity. When he looked at Yu Tianming again, it was like staring at a monster, filled with fear.

"How about telling me who these so-called honored guests are? If they're truly important, we can wait. But if they're not, then take me to see her—what gives you the right to make the decision?"

Ao Debiao's expression darkened. "Moon Pavilion has its rules. How can we casually reveal information about our guests? Even if you're from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, you cannot behave so rudely here."

Then, he turned to the two men in blue behind him. "Moon Pavilion only receives refined guests. Please escort these two gentlemen out."

The two men nodded and released their soul power. An invisible pressure filled the air.

They stepped forward and spoke sternly. "Gentlemen, please leave."

Yu Tianming stood up naturally and glanced at Ao Debiao with a look of disdain. "And what if I refuse?"

The men in blue looked toward their chief steward, who waved his hand. "Do I need to teach you how to handle this?"

The two immediately made their move, each reaching out to grab the grandfather and grandson.

Yu Yuanzhen had already seen through Ao Debiao's reliance and turned to his grandson. "Don't kill anyone. And don't damage this place."

Upon hearing that, Yu Tianming moved.

With just one step forward, the two blue-robed men felt a tremendous suction force from Yu Tianming's body. Their extended hands seemed to move involuntarily toward him.

Yu Tianming raised his own hand and lightly placed it on theirs.

By now, his strength had undergone a qualitative leap. From the fluctuations in their soul power, he could tell these two were newly advanced Soul Ancestors—barely at rank 40.

With his current power, how could he possibly give such opponents a chance?

Aside from Yu Yuanzhen, no one saw what Yu Tianming did.

All they saw was his fingers gently tighten, and the two blue-robed men were simultaneously sent flying backward.

Their extended arms now hung limply at their sides.

"We came to see the master, not some guard dogs."

If not for Yu Yuanzhen's presence, Yu Tianming—hardened by the killing fields of hell—wouldn't have held back. These two would already be corpses.

Perhaps because of the brief action, his killing intent erupted like a tidal wave—cold, bloodthirsty, and evil. In an instant, the entire first floor of Moon Pavilion was engulfed in his aura.

The female attendants behind the desk turned pale and trembled as they retreated in fear.

Yu Yuanzhen frowned deeply at the killing intent his grandson released. He knew well that the influence of Slaughter City on Yu Tianming's temperament was far from gone.

Ao Debiao froze momentarily, then swiftly placed his hands on the shoulders of his two subordinates. His face instantly changed.

Staring at Yu Tianming, he growled, "Such ruthless methods."

The bones in the arms of the two men had been crushed into powder—likely beyond healing.

Yu Tianming gave a cold smile. "The force you're relying on has already retreated into the mountains like a dog. And you dare bark in front of me? That's the price for overstepping your bounds."

Ao Debiao now realized he had misjudged this young man. Despite his youthful appearance, he was terrifyingly strong. Even though his subordinates hadn't activated their martial souls, for them to be crippled in one move meant this young man's strength was overwhelming.

Still, Ao Debiao refused to back down. "The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan is being far too arrogant."

With a cold snort, his soul power surged—yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black. Six soul rings pulsed around him, revealing his Soul Emperor cultivation.

For someone who appeared only in his forties, this was a considerable achievement.

Yu Tianming sneered and took another step forward, releasing his own martial soul.

To everyone's shock, five soul rings emerged around him, and his aura exploded outward with no restraint. The overwhelming killing intent seemed to make the entire Moon Pavilion tremble.

"T-This is impossible," Ao Debiao's expression changed drastically.

He knew that soul masters from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan were typically large and imposing, but how could someone with such a youthful face possess the power of a Soul King?

To have Soul King strength at this age already placed him among the elites—even within the clan, he would be a core member. How could someone like this just show up randomly?

But what stunned him even more was the unique pressure radiating from Yu Tianming's body. Ao Debiao felt his own soul power being completely suppressed, and the six soul rings around him began to dim.
