Chapter 22 - The contractor's son (WC-ish/Multicross)

My name is Oscar, Oz for short and I am the son of a contractor… well, one of the sons of a contractor.

Acording to my father, a contractor is someone who is recruited by the 'Company', an omniversal organization that deals on everything.

Various perks comes with being recruited as well, or so my father says.

Our family dynamics is very weird, I have a lot of stepmothers and siblings and everyone gets along with each other.

Everyone in the family is immortal and powerful.

In 'Company' terms, my father is a TZ and the lowest tier in the family is a T8 and since we all have access to multiversal travel, everyone is always doing their own thing.

Hell, I have some siblings I've only seen once or twice since I was born.

Right now, I'm on [Planet Alpha], the first planet created in my father's domain, what makes this planet different from the countless others here is that only our family resides here, well there are maids too though, I doubt their work is any difficult since the world has an automatic cleaning function.

I've been to various worlds before, some fictional and some not, and even by the standards of the ridiculous things I've seen, I don't think any exceeds the things my father does.

I look up as a planet is blown to smithereens, and it doesn't take three seconds as it starts fixing itself, as if time is flowing backwards around it.

It seems like she's at it again.

Normally, a person wouldn't be able to see that far into space with only their eyes but I'm sure I've established already that not any of us is normal. Not even the mythical creatures around.

Well anyway, it seems like that planetary devastation was caused by one of my younger sisters, Hazel.

Recently she's been role playing as a mad scientist, and in her words. "If you are a scientist and you are not blowing up planets, then you are doing something wrong."

She… she's not very bright.

I teleport back to my room, narrowly dodging a beam of light that was fired at light speed.

How did she even know I was badmouthing her?

"Eh? What are you doing here Ozzy?"

I look towards the source of the voice. Blonde hair styled in a high bun, green eyes and fair skin hidden by baggy clothes. She's lying on my bed, reading a book.

"What are you on about, Jas? This is my room, you know?"

And don't call me Ozzy!

This girl that is radiating an aura of laziness is my elder sister, Jasmine but everyone calls her Mami. I call her Jas though.

Jas only gets motivated by things she likes, she hardly goes out and she hates to do anything that resembles work.

To put it bluntly, Jas is a NEET.

"Oh… you can take my room, then."

"I don't want it!"

"Arrgh, shut up, you are too noisy. What happened to you Ozzy? You were very cute as a child, always going "Big sis, big sis" but these days it seems like you don't like your big sister anymore." She looks at me with watery eyes.

She's acting of course.

"Fine…" I sigh. "stay as long as you want, O' queen of Neets."

Even if I argue with her, she's not going to leave, so might as well let her be.

"Hey don't call me that, I'm not a Neet. I just know how to live without restraints. At least I'm not blowing up planets. Or role playing as a hero of justice. Or gathering a harem of shotas, or starting wars with the repub—"

"Ah, I get it, I get it, you're one of the sane ones, I get it already." I say as she smiles triumphantly.

Yes, many of my siblings are weird, and being a Neet is at least normal compared to the other extremities.

"JASMINE!!!!!"

The voice of my mother rings out from somewhere in the house.

"Geh!"

I look back at my startled sister who has jumped up from my bed, a backpack appears on her hands as she starts filling it up with the other books and manga strewn over the bed.

"Where are you going, Jas?" I asked with raised brows.

"You mean, where are we going?" She replies, brows equally raised.

"Nuh uh, not today Jasm—" I don't not finish my sentence as my sister kicks me into a portal she opened.

I roll on the ground for a bit before coming to a stop, back against the ground.

"You really gotta stop doing this Big sis." I say sitting up and dusting my clothes, well, not like it's dirty though.

"Come on, come on. We won't be here for long."

That was what she said last time, but we ended up spending a year in the world she took us to.

Sighing, I stand up to my feet. "Where are we anyways?" I ask.

We are currently in what looks to be a forest.

"The world of the manga I just finished reading, I want to ask the protagonist for his autograph. Hehehehe."

Okay, even though my big sister might not be a Neet, she is definitely an otaku.

"Ozzy, did you just think of something rude?" She squints her eyes.

"You're just imagining things…" I chuckle nervously. "Anyway, what's the name of the manga?"

"Oh, here." She reaches into her backpack and throws what I assume is the manga to me.

Catching it, I look at the title on the front page.

"…That time I reincarnated as a slime?" I read out.

Ah, she has taken us to a weird place again.
