We made our way towards the exit, Leonard and I. I led the way while Leonard followed from behind me in his usual calculated, and deliberate strides.
I still found it difficult to believe that Leonard had chosen to embark on a stupid business trip, and would be leaving me by myself. I mean leaving the baby all by herself. While I grew more fond of him in these past months, it was hard to think that he had only grown less fond of me.
The cars were ready when we got to the front of the house, and so were the guards. I got into the car after one of the men got the door for me and after a few seconds, Leonard got into the car.
We were on the way to the hospital, Leonard had moved the appointment with Dr Cole backward which was strangely thoughtful of him. I couldn't imagine going to the hospital all by myself.
