Nina and Jacob rode on Salamence and Hydreigon respectively, flying directly from the capital to Drakehold.

The continuous journey left them both feeling tired. By the time they arrived at the Drakehold Dragon Secret Realm, night had fallen. Despite their fatigue, they didn't stop to eat and hurried straight to the facility.

"Hold on, the Dragon Secret Realm is closed to visitors today. Please show your credentials," the guard at the entrance stopped them.

"Here you go." Nina came prepared. She presented the documents issued by the Capital Pokémon League today, along with the badge that authorized them to select a Pseudo-legendary Pokémon. After inspection, they were immediately cleared to enter.

"Please come in."

"Please notify your supervisor. We'll be going directly to Dragon Lake to select a Pokémon," Nina said as she and Jacob walked purposefully toward Dragon Lake without pausing, giving the Drakehold staff no time to react.

Like Dragon Ancient Mountain, Dragon Lake was a restricted area within the Drakehold Dragon Secret Realm—home to Pseudo-legendary Pokémon. Nina had come prepared this time, using her badge to ensure smooth passage.

When they reached the incubation room at Dragon Lake, the supervisor came running over, his face covered in sweat.

The incubation room supervisor was around 40 years old, an overweight man with a balding head who appeared somewhat disheveled. However, appearances could be deceiving—he was actually quite powerful, a King-level Dragon-type Trainer.

"This must be Jacob, right?" Those who became supervisors were rarely fools. The portly supervisor recognized Nina immediately and quickly deduced Jacob's identity. He hadn't expected them to rush to the Secret Realm right after receiving the notification. "You two haven't eaten yet. Why don't we have dinner first, then come back to make your selection?"

"That won't be necessary," Nina replied firmly. She didn't want to give the supervisor time to prepare, so she refused to waste time eating. "We can have dinner after we've made our selection."

The supervisor was sweating profusely, either from heat or nervousness. He was clearly displeased. He had planned to wait until tomorrow to administer mild enhancement drugs to the Pseudo-legendary Pokémon eggs—treatments that wouldn't significantly impact their quality but would accelerate the hatching process. He hadn't expected Jacob to arrive so early.

Had he known, he would have taken more drastic measures that afternoon. Although such methods would have compromised the Pokémon's potential, it would have been better than letting the eggs be chosen by outsiders. How would he explain this situation to his superiors?

The supervisor had only one thought now: delay as much as possible and stall the visitors. But Jacob and Nina had obviously come prepared and were attacking the situation without warning. How could he prevent them from getting what they wanted?

"Well, it's quite late, and your arrival was unexpected. Let me treat you to dinner tonight. Perhaps we can handle the selection tomorrow?" The supervisor blocked their path to the incubation room. "Besides, there are procedures to follow before taking a Pseudo-legendary Pokémon."

"No need. Selecting will only take a few minutes, and we'll leave immediately afterward. The procedures are simple. I've brought all the required documentation," Nina replied with a smirk, clearly seeing through the supervisor's tactics. "Are you refusing us entry?"

As she spoke, Nina took out her phone and prepared to record the interaction.

Seeing this, the supervisor—no matter how brazen—had no choice but to relent. Nina worked in the same field and understood all the tricks involved. She had come prepared with all the necessary information and wasn't intimidated by the supervisor's obstructionism.

The supervisor smiled bitterly and sighed inwardly. He had to give way now—at worst, they would take one high-quality Pseudo-legendary Pokémon. If he refused them entry, it would leave an indelible stain on his record.

Besides, he doubted these young people had the expertise to choose wisely. He never expected that one of them had a system and the other possessed the supernatural ability to sense dragon energy. If these two couldn't choose accurately, probably no one in the world could.

"Not at all, please come in," the supervisor said with a forced smile, stepping aside. "I was just concerned you might be tired from your journey. Since you insist, please proceed."

Jacob examined the Pokémon Eggs in the incubation room with curiosity. Compared to the capital's Dragon Secret Realm, the number of eggs here was significantly greater—an impressive forty or so.

Among them were nine Pseudo-legendary Pokémon Eggs: three Dragonite eggs, three Garchomp eggs, and three Dragapult eggs.

Jacob immediately focused on the nine Pseudo-legendary Pokémon Eggs and assessed their qualities.

Of the nine eggs, six were Quasi-King-level caliber, two were King-level, and one was Champion-level! This quality far exceeded what they'd seen at the Capital's Dragon Secret Realm.

Without hesitation, Jacob's eyes locked onto the Champion-level egg.

[Pokémon Egg]

Dreepy

Gender: Male

Types: Dragon, Ghost

Quality: Champion level

Ability: Infiltrator

Moves: ???

There was no doubt that this Dreepy's qualities perfectly met Jacob's expectations. Its final evolution, Dragapult, was extremely powerful and one of Jacob's favorite Pokémon.

In competitive battles, Dragapult was a popular choice. It was a nearly perfect Pokémon, with its Dragon/Ghost typing giving it 2 type immunities, 6 resistances, 5 weaknesses, and no 4x weaknesses—rare for a Dragon-type.

Looking at its stats, Dragapult's base Speed of 142 ranked fourth among all non-Mythical Pokémon (including Ultra Beasts). Its Physical Attack of 120 would perfectly complement Jacob's team, which currently lacked a strong physical attacker. Its Special Attack of 100, combined with an extremely diverse movepool including Dragon Pulse, Surf, Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Draco Meteor, and more, also made it formidable as a special attacker.

Its exceptional speed would allow it to set up Light Screen and Reflect. Combined with moves like Will-O-Wisp and U-turn, it could serve as a support Pokémon as well.

Dragapult was truly a versatile Pokémon. Its only drawbacks were the high training costs and lengthy evolution process.

Although Jacob didn't need to worry about money at the moment, he felt overwhelmed thinking that almost all the mentioned moves would require TMs to learn.

The long training period was a well-known issue with Dragapult. It evolved very slowly. Evolving from Dreepy to Drakloak required at least Quasi-King level strength, while evolving from Drakloak to Dragapult demanded King-level power.

This presented a significant challenge for Jacob, but the good news was that once he captured five Dragon-type Pokémon, he could obtain A-grade Dragon Scales, which would accelerate their growth and save considerable time.

After examining the egg, Jacob didn't hesitate at all. "I'll take this one, thank you."

"Are you certain?" The supervisor's forehead was sweating profusely. Although they couldn't precisely measure the egg's quality through the shell, they could roughly gauge that it was exceptional. This left him quite embarrassed. "Actually, for newcomers, I'd recommend Dratini. It has a gentle personality and is easier to train. When it evolves into Dragonite, it's also very powerful."

Meanwhile, Nina frowned slightly. She hadn't expected Jacob to decide so quickly. She quickly placed her hand on the Dreepy egg and, taking advantage of the conversation between Jacob and the supervisor, used her ability to sense the dragon energy within the egg.

A flash of light passed, and Nina's lips curved into a slight smile before she quickly composed herself. She had clearly received a satisfying answer.

"This is the one. Please wrap it up."
