The next day, in the afternoon, the sun was shining brightly.
It was Sunday, and except for some diligent young wizards still sweating away in the library, most students chose to rest during this time.
Adrian, carrying a suitcase, made his way to the grassy area in front of the Black Lake.
Finding an empty spot, Adrian opened his suitcase and began pouring something out. Soon, round, fresh vegetables tumbled out one after another, landing on the grass.
These were Chomping Cabbages. Adrian had gathered all the Chomping Cabbages from his planting garden.
As soon as they touched the ground, they began to act restlessly, rolling around everywhere, baring their sharp teeth and leaving tooth marks in the soil.
"Alright, fellows, line up."
Adrian blew the whistle in his hand, and all the Chomping Cabbages immediately stopped moving and returned to his side, forming a neat row in front of him.
This was the obstacle he had prepared to protect the Philosopher's Stone—a total of seven Chomping Cabbages.
Of course, these Chomping Cabbages were ordinary ones, unlike the one Harry had, which possessed extraordinary abilities.
But even so, the power of these Chomping Cabbages was not to be underestimated.
Adrian believed that if these Chomping Cabbages were left unrestricted, they could even bite through the thick skin of a fully grown troll.
To better control these Chomping Cabbages, Adrian had specially crafted a unique whistle which is the one he had just blown.
This whistle could, according to Adrian's mental commands, issue simple orders to the Chomping Cabbages.
"Well then, let's start the test."
Adrian took out a fist-sized dummy model from his pocket, threw it on the ground, and waved his wand at it.
After a quick Engorgio spell, the dummy quickly grew to about Adrian's height.
Seeing that the training dummy was ready, Adrian blew the whistle without hesitation.
As the whistle sound faded, the Chomping Cabbages simultaneously opened their mouths, revealing sharp teeth, and quickly rolled toward the dummy.
Although their movements looked awkward, they moved surprisingly fast, surrounding the dummy almost instantly.
"Crunch! Crunch!"
The Chomping Cabbages mercilessly bit into the dummy's legs, arms, and torso, making tooth-grinding chewing sounds.
In the next second, the dummy had been bitten to pieces, fragments scattered all over the ground.
Seeing this, Adrian nodded with satisfaction and blew the whistle again.
It was worth noting that these dummies had been specially reinforced, making them not easy to damage.
As soon as the whistle sounded, the Chomping Cabbages immediately stopped their actions, returned to Adrian's front, and lined up neatly again.
"Well done, fellows."
Meanwhile, footsteps in the distance caught Adrian's attention.
Adrian looked up and saw Professor Flitwick hurrying in his direction.
"What's happening?" Professor Flitwick quickly walked up to Adrian, noticed the mess on the ground, and asked, "Adrian, what's going on here?"
"I'm training some little fellows." Adrian pointed at those cute creatures.
Professor Flitwick looked at the round Chomping Cabbages from a distance, a flash of surprise in his eyes. "I heard the whistle sound and thought something had happened. Ah, these little fellows look very healthy."
As he spoke, Professor Flitwick extended a finger, wanting to play with the nearest Chomping Cabbage.
However, the Chomping Cabbage wasn't giving him any respect and immediately bit at his finger.
Fortunately, Professor Flitwick reacted quickly, turned his wrist, and waved his hand. A spell instantly flew out, precisely hitting the Chomping Cabbage that bit him.
The body of the Chomping Cabbage immediately levitated, biting at the air.
Obviously, this was a Levitation Charm.
"This... I nearly lost a finger there, Professor Westeros." Professor Flitwick wiped the sweat from his forehead, smiling.
"Very impressive nonverbal and wandless spellcasting, Professor," Adrian couldn't help but admire. As expected of a Charms master.
Professor Flitwick waved his hand modestly, "It's just a small trick."
At this point, Adrian also took out his wand and cast a spell at the still floating Chomping Cabbage, making it float back into the formation.
Then, Adrian blew the whistle again.
"Go back."
As soon as the words were spoken, the Chomping Cabbages began to roll in an orderly fashion, bouncing one by one back into the suitcase.
"You've trained them well," Professor Flitwick praised from the side.
Adrian nodded. Of course, after all, these Chomping Cabbages had been influenced by his magical power and subtle mutation power, so they naturally obeyed his commands.
Then, he picked up the suitcase and asked Professor Flitwick, "By the way, Professor, what brings you here?"
Professor Flitwick straightened his beard. "Oh, Professor Westeros, I was just about to go to the Three Broomsticks for a drink, to relax a bit. Would you like to join me?"
"I'd be delighted." Adrian had no urgent matters today, so he accepted Professor Flitwick's invitation.
Along the way, Professor Flitwick chatted about what he usually did on weekends.
"I often go drinking at the Three Broomsticks with friends," He said casually. "Especially when there's not much work to do. You know, sometimes I have to spend my precious rest time grading those students' assignments..."
Although Professor Flitwick was short, he didn't walk slowly; in fact, he was even a bit faster than Adrian. Moreover, his steps were very steady.
Adrian guessed this was probably because Professor Flitwick had specifically trained his walking style. After all, for a dueling master, this was the most basic thing.
Soon, they arrived at the Three Broomsticks.
Professor Flitwick expertly ordered a "cherry syrup and soda with ice and a slice of umbrella," then found a spot in the corner to sit down.
This habit was quite similar to Adrian's; compared to the center of the hall, Adrian also preferred the corner seats.
The view was more open from here, and one could see most of the people in the pub.
"Everyone's busy today; I couldn't invite anyone to come for a drink," Professor Flitwick said after taking a sip of his drink. "Fortunately, I ran into you."
Adrian nodded, then mentioned the events of last night. "The professors must all be busy with the task Dumbledore assigned to us."
At this, Professor Flitwick's face showed a hint of pride, and he said in a low voice, "Oh, Adrian, last night, I spent the entire evening enchanting all the keys. Now, only one correct key can open the door, and they will fly around. It won't be so easy for intruders to catch it."
