Chapter 31 - Chapter 29: Shadows of Betrayal

Vilyn delicately tapped her dress, her movements exuding an air of seduction. With a deliberate grace, she tied her hair into a high ponytail, and in an enchanting transformation, her yellow locks turned into a vibrant shade of brunette. As she released her bangs, strands of hair framed her face, reminiscent of Suman's distinctive style, tied into ponytails on either side.

"So, you planned to provoke me, to expose my true identity, Ixar-xist. It can only mean one thing. You still remember me, my love. It warms my heart to know that, my long-lost brother, or perhaps, my forbidden lover," Vilyn declared, her voice laced with a mixture of longing and intrigue.

Ixartxist rolled his eyes, dismissing her words, and took his seat. "Where is all this coming from? We have no relationship, I am not your brother, and most certainly, I am not your lover. We are not even remotely connected. Stop pursuing me, Vilyn," he retorted, his tone filled with exasperation.

In a dramatic display, Vilyn materialized before him, her eyes brimming with tears as she clutched at his clothes. "But you promised me that you loved me. Are you now telling me it was all a lie? You toyed with my innocent emotions. How dare you play with my heart, after we shared an unforgettable night together, after you took my virginity. And now, you claim it was all a lie. How could you!" she lamented.

Ixartxist gently held her face, his voice calm and composed. "I never intended to play with your feelings, believe me. If you seek a full explanation, ask your estranged father."

Vilyn pushed his hands away, her gaze averted. A wave of grotesque emotions washed over her as she turned away, her eyes cautiously glancing at him from the corner of her vision. "So, you're finally awake. You must be aware that you made a promise to me. And you must know that I am the only one who can help you find that girl, Tassa. Yes, my love, I know her whereabouts. If you wish for me to refrain from interfering, to keep my hands away from her, then you better listen to me, my Ixar-xist," she warned, her voice tinged with a mixture of authority and desperation.

Ixartxist tightened his grip around her throat, cautioning her against touching Tassa. However, Vilyn's anger flared, and she reminded him of their shared past and his promise to her. "The past was a mistake, and it is my burden to bear. So, do not dare to harm her, Vilyn. If you do, I will ensure that you pay dearly for your actions," Ixartxist asserted, his voice firm with resolve.

"Say it again, but this time, whisper it into my ear, where I can feel the tension and be consumed by fear," Vilyn taunted, her eyes gleaming with defiance.

Ixartxist grew increasingly frustrated with Vilyn's actions, especially when she threatened Tassa. Unable to contain his anger, he bit into his own wrist, allowing the blood to flow freely. He then pressed his bleeding wrist against Vilyn's forehead, causing her to feel an intense burning sensation. Overwhelmed by the pain, Vilyn pleaded with Ixartxist to release her. He reluctantly complied, allowing her to take a deep breath. However, the encounter left Vilyn feeling weakened, causing her to kneel on the floor.

Clutching her hands tightly, Vilyn glared at Ixartxist and demanded an explanation for his actions. Ixartxist crouched down in front of her, gently lifting her chin to meet his gaze. "You see, my blood has the power to turn you into a demon, but it can also be deadly. So, I advise you not to provoke me, Vilyn," he warned.

"Don't toy with me! I'm not a child anymore. When I called you my brother, I meant it in a figurative sense. It does make us blood relatives," Vilyn retorted defiantly.

Ixartxist simply stared at her with cold, emotionless eyes, questioning who had informed her about Quart and who had awakened her from her eternal slumber. Vilyn revealed that it was her loving father, Suman, who had brought her back to life. She had learned many details about Quart through him. Observing Ixartxist's empty and broken demeanor, Vilyn reached out and caressed his face, asking if he truly loved Tassa so deeply.

Ixartxist gently took hold of her hand and placed it on her lap, his gaze conveying a silent affirmation even without uttering a word. Knowing that Vilyn was unable to walk after he had drained her energy by placing his blood on her forehead, Ixartxist carried her and carefully settled her into his seat. Vilyn remained silent, her gaze fixed on the floor. Ixartxist sat across from her, engrossed in his book, while Vilyn stared absentmindedly out the window.

Ixartxist acknowledged to himself that his actions towards Vilyn were unjustifiable, but he couldn't control his impulses. He stole glances at her as she gazed at the passing clouds, quickly averting his eyes whenever she looked back at him. He concealed his face behind the book, gritting his teeth as he continued to read.

"Suman, what are you planning? Why did you awaken her after all these years? Are you out of your mind? Vilyn may appear harmless, but she spells trouble. He knows the potential consequences, so why is he doing this?" Ixartxist pondered silently.

Vilyn could feel her energy slowly returning, a comforting sensation coursing through her veins. She shook her hand, reveling in the revitalizing flow. "Ixartxist," she called out.

Ixartxist looked up from his book, closing it and placing it on the table. Concern etched his face as he asked, "Vilyn, are you feeling alright now?"

"Much better, but this uniform is too tight," Vilyn replied, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

Ixartxist raised an eyebrow, curious about her intentions. "So?"

With a playful glint in her eyes, Vilyn proceeded to remove her clothes, changing right in front of Ixartxist. However, he quickly averted his gaze, captivated by her enchanting beauty. He swallowed hard, closing his eyes and doing his best to ignore her presence. "What exactly are you planning, Vilyn?" he inquired.

Chuckling softly, Vilyn sat on the table, holding Ixartxist's chin and slowly settling onto his lap, resting her head against his chest. "Regarding your first question, monsieur, don't worry. I'm simply changing out of my stewardess outfit. I have other clothes underneath. Did you really think I would undress in front of you?" she teased. "Besides, what are you so afraid to see when you've already seen it all?"

In a bold move, Vilyn leaned in and kissed Ixartxist. Surprisingly, he didn't resist, instead, he tenderly caressed her hair and drew her closer, revealing his deep affection for her.

Unbeknownst to them, the real flight attendant, Anna Vorey, entered the scene to ask Ixartxist if he wanted something to drink. However, upon witnessing the passionate kiss between Ixartxist and Vilyn, she simply smiled and discreetly left them alone. She thought it best not to disturb him and his lover, choosing instead to gaze out the window at the picturesque clouds. "So, he does have a lover. How wonderful. That girl is truly fortunate," Anna whispered to herself.

After their passionate embrace, Vilyn looked into Ixartxist's eyes, a gentle smile gracing her face. "I've missed that. But... does that mean you still love me, Ixartxist?"

Ixartxist closed his eyes, his voice calm and composed as he replied, "You'll know, you'll see. I believe it's the best course of action. I apologize in advance, Vilyn." He locked eyes with her, a gaze that sent shivers down her spine. The atmosphere suddenly felt menacing and bloodthirsty, reminiscent of the demonic nature within her. Fear gripped Vilyn as she realized she had never seen this side of Ixartxist before, reminiscent of the time she had been held captive by another demon. Tears welled up in her eyes, cascading down her cheeks.

Ixartxist noticed her tears and gently asked why she was crying. He reassured her that he had no intention of killing her, at least not until she revealed Tassa's whereabouts. Vilyn felt a mix of revulsion and bitterness at his words, her smile turning bitter in return. Uncertain whether to cry or be afraid in the face of his enmity, she remembered the intense aura she had felt when someone tried to separate her from him in the past. And now, as she attempted to separate him from Tassa, that same aura engulfed her. With a heavy heart, she looked at him and posed a question that had been eating away at her.

"Ixartxist, do you see me as that demon who once tried to tear us apart? Am I nothing more to you now than a nuisance, an obstacle to you and your new lover? Is that truly how you feel?" she asked, her voice trembling with vulnerability.

Ixartxist gazed at her, unable to answer all her questions. The only response he could offer was her name. Overwhelmed with emotions, Vilyn wept before him. Ixartxist held her close, embracing her tightly, and apologized, refusing to let her go until she felt some semblance of solace. Deep down, he knew that no embrace or kiss could ever undo the mistakes he had made.

In an unexpected turn of events, Suman paid a surprise visit to Calguas' house, eager to share some exciting news. However, much to his disappointment, Calguas was not yet home. Undeterred, Suman decided to venture inside anyway, unable to contain his enthusiasm.

"Calguas, my friend! You won't believe what just happened," Suman exclaimed, his voice echoing through the empty rooms. "Calguas, my friend, where are you? Ah, I know you're not home, but let me share this with you anyway."

With a sense of adventure, Suman began to explore the humble abode of Calguas. "Please, Calguas, don't think of this as an intrusion into your humble home. No, no, I'm merely embarking on an exciting adventure through your humble abode," he declared, his voice filled with playful charm.

As Suman wandered through the house, his eyes widened in horror as he spotted a rat scurrying towards him. Letting out a high-pitched scream, he recoiled, his voice betraying a hint of femininity. "Oh my gosh! It's a rat! It scared the living daylights out of me!" he exclaimed, his heart racing.

Reacting swiftly, Suman stomped on the rat, effectively ending its brief moment of terror. However, as he looked down, he realized that the rat's blood had left a smudge on the floor. With a mixture of disgust and panic, he hastily wiped his shoe on Calguas' reddish carpet, his face contorted in distaste. "Eww! You've stained your stupid blood on my 1.45 Million dollar SE shoes. I mean, shoe," he muttered, his eyes fixated on the now-visible bloodstain.

Seeking solace, Suman leaned against the wall, his gaze drifting towards a beautiful vase that caught his eye. Drawn to its exquisite craftsmanship, he approached it with reverence. "Oh, would you look at that! What a magnificent vase. I had no idea that Calguas possessed such impeccable taste in decorative pieces," he marveled, his voice tinged with awe.

However, as fate would have it, the handle of the vase proved to be detached, causing it to slip from Suman's grasp. In a moment of sheer surprise, he found himself holding the broken handle, the rest of the vase shattered on the floor. His eyes widened, a mixture of shock and regret washing over him.

"Okay! I'm going to pay for that, Calguas. Do you prefer cash or a cheque? Although, I must admit, I only have 100 pounds at the moment," Suman declared, his voice filled with determination. But before he could dwell on the situation further, his attention was captivated by a vintage fork that caught his eye.

Seizing the fork, Suman couldn't help but burst into song, his voice echoing through the house. "Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete? Part of his world, oh yeah! So cool, I know I can belt it out. But I don't want to show off. Anyway, what is Calguas? A collector? A lonesome soul? Or perhaps, he's secretly a mermaid? I must admit, this vintage fork truly is remarkable. Well, except for that ridiculous vase. It may have been pretty, but now it's just broken. What a curious turn of events," Suman mused, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and amusement.

Then, suddenly, a necklace caught Suman's attention. A strange sense of familiarity stirred within him. He slowly walked closer, his heart quickening as he leaned in to see it up close.
