Chapter 47 - Talent Galore

S04 (0 - 0) VfB – 27th Minute

Che took a deep breath, closed his eyes for a second, then looked straight at the keeper. Step by step, he walked into his run-up.

No power—just finesse and focus. He curled the ball up and over the wall…

GOAL. Top right corner. Absolute beauty.

Before the ball even hit the net, Che already had his arms raised. He knew.

The team swarmed him. Stuttgart were on fire now, ready to ride the momentum.

They kept pressing, attacking hard. Schalke, on the other hand? They looked unbothered—playing like they weren't even in a rush to respond.

Che was locked in, having an incredible game. His dribbling and bursts of pace were drawing fouls. Leon was just as dangerous on the wing, combining flair and raw speed. Together, they were slicing through Schalke's back line like it was paper.

But even with all the confidence flowing, Che had that feeling in his chest—like something was coming. This game wasn't over. Not even close. And he wasn't easing up.

Then came the warning shot.

After another Stuttgart attack, Che lost possession near the edge of the box—clean tackle by Schalke's center-back. The ball rolled to one of their midfielders, who held it under pressure from two Stuttgart players swarming him.

Somehow, he wriggled free and passed it off to his partner, who exploded through the midfield.

Stuttgart had no time to reset. Both fullbacks were caught upfield. Chaos.

The ball found Schalke's attacking midfielder in space, with two forwards ahead of him. But he didn't even look at them.

Head down. Determined. He drove forward, cutting through the center. As he neared the box, he slowed slightly—then shifted right to dodge a defender.

And just like that, BOOM.

He struck it with pure power. No buildup. Just violence off his right foot.

The ball blasted into the roof of the net—straight through the middle. The keeper barely flinched.

The stadium was stunned. Schalke barely celebrated. They just jogged back to position like it was a minor correction.

Che stood frozen.

This was the kind of competition he had been craving.

Stuttgart kept possession after the restart, but they were rattled.

You could see it—they were playing more cautious, afraid to leave space. Leon pulled back on his usual tricks. Even the fullbacks were holding off on overlapping runs.

Everyone… except Che.

He wasn't scared. He was hungry.

He drifted deeper, dropped into midfield, and waited for the ball. A pass came his way, and a defender pressed tightly from behind. But instead of receiving it, Che let it run past and sprinted around his teammate to collect it on the other side.

Now facing forward.

A defender rushed in at pace.

Che hit a feint right, then nutmegged him on the follow-up. Crowd gasped. Momentum building.

But suddenly—trap.

Schalke had read the play. He was surrounded, boxed in by four players.

One more touch. Then—ping.

A diagonal through ball toward the left wing.

Speidel hadn't even expected it—but when he saw the gap, he took off.

He had to sprint full throttle… but he got there.

Che had threaded a needle that no one else even saw.
