Boo blinked at him. "That's it?"
Rocky nodded shyly.
Boo puffed out his cheeks, then burst into a giggle. "Okay! I can do that!" He poked a tiny pebble again, pushing it crooked on purpose. Rocky gasped, fixing it immediately.
"Don't move them wrong!" Rocky squeaked, his baby voice going high and squealy.
Boo snorted with a ghostly giggle. "Yes, boss!"
And so they sat there, one shy little gargoyle and one mischievous little ghost, arranging pebbles in neat little rows under the sun.
While Boo and Rocky were busy lining up pebbles, Drake flopped down on the grass under the shade of a big tree. He crossed his chubby arms over his chest, tail flicking behind him in mild annoyance. Beside him, Vlad Jr. sat with his tiny legs crossed, posture elegant as ever, even sitting on grass, he looked like a tiny vampire noble at a royal tea party.
Drake huffed, puffing his cheeks out. He turned to Vlad Jr., his amber eyes wide and suspicious. "Are you my friend or Boo's friend?"
