Chapter 36 - GOD TRAINING ARC LAST PHASE 1

"Next, you two will have to journey to Tartarus. Get yourselves ready now."

Vultra and Leo went to their rooms. Leo now thought, This time, we journey to Tartarus. I wonder what this will be like...

The scene now shifts to Vultra in his room. He thought, Which trials are waiting for us? Well, only one way to find out. Well then, I think it's time to go to bed. Tomorrow, the mystery will be unveiled. But until then, I need to get some sleep.

The scene now shifts to Valse as he thought, While we wait for them, lemme get in contact with Hades.

He pulled out his ring. It now displayed a hologram of a phone call as the service read:

"Please wait while we connect you to Hades' hotline."

Valse sighed. "Oh, not this shit again."

He waited a bit until the hologram now displayed Hades. He was sitting on his throne.

Valse started as he said, "Hey there, Hades. How are you?"

Hades replied, "It's not every day you see a multiversal god calling directly to you. Tell me, what's the problem?"

Valse said, "You got me again. Well then, Hades, I had called you to make reservations."

Hades asked, "Which reservations?"

Valse said, "Reservations for Tartarus. But the Tartarus I am asking for is for multiversal gods and above, and I need it tomorrow. Two guests will be visiting, courtesy of mine. And oh—of course—reserve the Goddess of Death. I need her tomorrow."

Hades waited for a moment, then he replied, "It will be done, my lord."

"Alright. Say hi to your wife for me," Valse said.

Hades replied, "Okay. I'll end the call."

Valse agreed, and the call ended. He put the ring back on as he thought, I hope they will be ready. But that is a question for tomorrow. I really need to get some sleep.

He went to his room.

Time passed. It was now dawn. Valse woke both of them up with the deadly assassins. They woke up feeling drowsy because he had woken them around 5:00 a.m.

Leo and Vultra took their baths, got ready, and ate a lot—because it would be their last meal.

After a while, it was 5:50 a.m. Valse now told them, "Are you ready?"

Leo and Vultra glanced at each other and smirked. "Yes, we are ready."

Valse now told them, "Even though you both will enter at the same time, don't expect to see each other in Tartarus. Got that? You will be separated immediately upon stepping into the portal. So until then, I want you both to say your goodbyes—because you never know. Immediately at 6:00, the portal will open, and the Goddess of Death will complete her mission. I will see you two again. Leo, Vultra—Godspeed."

Immediately, the clock struck 6:00. A portal opened. It was terrifying.

Then, out of it emerged the Goddess of Death. She wasn't grim as one would expect—instead, she looked like a beauty.

Well... until she conjured her powers.

Valse gave her the signal.

The Goddess of Death told them, "Well, I wish you both good luck."

She summoned her powers. Valse disabled their immortality.

As the Goddess summoned a double scythe, she—with a tear coming from her eyes—took a double slash.

Instantly, their bodies disintegrated, and only their souls remained. Their souls were radiating with their desired powers.

Leo and Vultra now glanced at each other, unknowingly telling themselves farew

ell, as they both took one last glance and entered the portal.

Vultra now stood in a realm devoid of everything. There was no light coming or going—complete darkness.

He now saw a person sitting on a throne. She said to Vultra, "I am the goddess who rules this version of Tartarus. I heard you came for a test, but beware: test or not, you came to the place of the forgotten. Here, the worst of the worst are thrown."

"Now, your purpose here is to journey through Tartarus until you get back here. It will be hard. And one more thing—you won't be allowed to use your powers. As you see, you died as a mortal, not a god, so any powers you have amassed so far will be kept with me. The only powers you can use are your Ying powers, but you can't really use them to fight—at least, not yet. You will use it as a light in Tartarus."

"Alright then—are you up to the task?"

Vultra cracked his knuckles and said, "I'm ready."

The goddess smirked as she thought, I like him. Let's see if he will survive.

In that moment, her eyes shined brightly.

Vultra now fell—but it was twisted. He didn't know if he was really falling or just flying. He didn't know which direction he was heading. He fell for what seemed like years—hundreds, thousands, millions of years—until he finally landed.

Vultra looked at the sky—but there wasn't any sky. There wasn't any light—well, not quite, but you'll find out as the story goes on.

In that moment, the ground he stood on started to twist as hands emerged from it, trying to drag him down. Vultra didn't fight it—he allowed it.

Immediately, he entered into a zone of torment. He saw gods being tortured, locked, and burned.

The hands now turned to forms. Darkness lunged at him.

Vultra dodged all of them.

Then, skeletons emerged as they all rushed toward him. Vultra now got in his stance as he rushed toward them.

The first skeletons lunged at him—he used his hands to grab two skeletons and then bashed them together. He took their spinal cords and skulls, merging them into a weapon. He then used it to scatter all the skeletons coming his way.

He threw his weapon at one skeleton, raised it high, and began to spin it like crazy.

Vultra now said, "Get ready for the chopper!"

He adjusted his weapon forward, turning the skeleton into a spinning shield. He then rushed forward, using it to slice and dice.

But he forgot something—Tartarus doesn't have any direction.

Some of the skeletons he scattered repaired themselves, becoming stronger. The darkness merged with the skeletons, giving them a set of armor. They now rushed toward Vultra, who was busy—until one of them used its sword to land a cut on Vultra's cheek.

Vultra touched the wound—he saw blood.

That made him angry.

He now rushed toward the armored skeletons. He used his weapon to hit one—but it broke.

Vultra cursed. "Fuck!"

The skeleton smirked as it landed a blow, sending Vultra flying.

Vultra regained his composure mid-air and rushed back—this time without weapons.

He held his fists tightly, giving blows to any skeletons that came his way. He rushed toward the armored ones. He threw a punch—the shockwave from it sent a skeleton flying, colliding with another.

Then he ran at full speed, charging his hands. He clashed with the oncoming horde. The shockwaves from that clash shook Tartarus entirely.

The skeletons without armor disintegrated.

Vultra now stared at the oncoming horde of armored skeletons. He said to them, "This isn't enough to beat me."

He took a deep breath, then rushed forward again. Charging both fists, he clashed with the skeletons—the resulting shockwave shook Tartarus once more.

Vultra now moved with insane speed. Using his hands, he deflected a skeleton's sword attack, moved behind it, and performed a German suplex. The skeleton scattered—its armor remained.

Vultra took the sword, looked at the remaining skeletons, and said, "Oh, you all are fucked."

He rushed with the sword in hand, slicing the skeletons in his way—disintegrating them. Only the armor remained.

After what seemed like a million years, he killed the last armored skeleton. An ocean of armor was left.

Vultra now thought, If I can't use my powers, but they act like a light… Well, isn't light hot? If I concentrate the light in my two hands—I can do something.

He stared at the armor, concentrating his powers. He used them, and this time—it worked.

He levitated all the armor.

Vultra decided to fuse all of them. His Ying powers acted like a furnace—melting all the armor and also the darkness. After a while of tinkering and hammering, he made an armor set—an armor from Tartarus itself.

Its grade: unknown.

All the darkness was turned into crystals—each embedded into the armor parts.

The armor set included:

A slim, hardened chestplate and backplate

A slim full-body suit

Twin blades with chains of darkness embedded into them

A giant shield strapped by unknown forces to the backplate

Armored leg guards, handguards, and gloves with knuckles embedded

A long dark scythe, also strapped to the back

A helmet that fused into the body, completely covering the face and hair, with space left for ears

And ear armor for additional reinforcement

If all the armor is used, it provides a combination boost and fuses into the user. Any other armor gained can be fused as well, with space for special-grade materials.

Vultra thought, Not bad. But I need to wear it before the other horde comes for me.

He wore the full armor set—leaving nothing behind. It fused with him completely.

Vultra, now in his helmet, saw a surprising display—i

t told him information and had a map layout embedded into it.

Fully ready, Vultra started to walk forward.

Vultra, now fused with the armor, saw a surprising display within his helmet—information flowed freely, including a map layout of Tartarus itself. Fully ready, he started walking forward. He soon came across a place where gods were being chained. They were forgotten, dead gods, their bodies weakened, their minds shattered.

Vultra smirked. "Look at the spoils," he thought.

But in that very moment, the chains binding the gods shattered. The seemingly dead gods awakened, their eyes glowing with fury. They now set their sights on Vultra, stepping slowly from their cells and rushing toward him with their divine powers.

Vultra looked at his hands. Mouths formed on his palms.

He knew what it meant—devour.

He unsheathed his chained twin blades. They immediately reacted, fusing with his arms. Vultra faced the first god, who summoned deadly earth weapons—spikes, spears, and jagged rocks—hurling them at him.

But Vultra dashed forward, dodging, countering, slicing each projectile midair. He unleashed his chains, spinning his weapons. Like a whirlwind of fury, he tore through every earth-formed attack, disintegrating them with precision. He threw one blade into the god's chest, pulling him closer.

Then came the punch—a powerful, earth-shaking blow to the god's face.

The god flew back, but Vultra wasn't done.

"GET OVER HERE!" he roared, using his chain to pull the god back.

He impaled the god with both hands. The mouths opened wide, devouring the divine essence. The god smiled as he faded—his last expression peaceful.

Vultra checked his HUD. Dark Earth Ability Unlocked: Fuse?

He grinned. "Yes."

His armor glowed. Vultra now had control over the very earth of Tartarus.

Another god stepped forward. This one manipulated gravity. The air became heavy. Vultra's knees buckled. He smirked.

"I've done this before," he growled, forcing himself to stand with sheer will.

The god increased the gravity to unbearable levels—but Vultra kept moving. "Enough of this shit," he said.

He summoned Dark Earth from Tartarus itself, forming tendrils that latched onto the god. The god struggled, but Vultra walked forward without resistance, now fully in control.

He reached out and devoured the god.

Gravity Manipulation: Unlocked. Fuse?

"Absolutely," Vultra muttered, fusing the power. His armor glowed again. He now felt as light as a feather, despite his heavy gear.

Then came another god—this one commanded the sky.

Lightning shot toward Vultra.

But Vultra stood tall, smiling.

He used gravity manipulation, slowing the thunderbolt mid-air.

Then, with Dark Earth, he captured and compressed the lightning, neutralizing it. The god watched in disbelief.

Vultra smirked. He slammed the god down with gravity, then chained him with earth.

"Nice power," Vultra said. "I'll take it."

He devoured the god.

Sky Domain, Thunder Domain, Wind Domain, Water Domain, Earth Domain, Fire Domain: Unlocked. Armor Upgrade: Available.

He grinned. "Yes."

Vultra levitated high as his armor evolved once more. Tartarus formed a temporary atmosphere around him. His armor turned completely white—a divine contrast. His helmet followed, becoming sleek and radiant.

Vultra landed with a new presence. The remaining gods, realizing what they faced, fused into a single being—an Omnigod.

They exchanged a glance.

Then—clash!

They met above Tartarus, shaking the dimension itself. Vultra used his upgraded scythe, unaware that it had also evolved.

The moment their weapons met, Vultra noticed something—it was draining the god.

He checked his HUD.

Elemental Reaper Scythe: Harvests any attack or divine energy.

He grinned. The god roared, creating a massive spear of pure energy. It launched toward Vultra.

Vultra waited calmly, then used his scythe to unleash a devastating spirit slash—disintegrating the attack entirely and absorbing the god.

After the battle, his scythe upgraded again.

Vultra now wandered deeper into Tartarus, defeating and absorbing all who opposed him. With each victory, he grew stronger.

Finally, he ascended to the peak of Tartarus, where the goddess awaited him.

She smiled. "Congratulations. You've passed the test."

She restored his original powers and added, "Anyone who makes Tartarus submit… I've sworn to be their bride."

Vultra took a step back. "Wait, what?!"

But she moved fast, catching him and initiating their engagement on the spot.

"This," she smirked, "was the final test."

A surge of energy surrounded Vultra as he levitated higher. His form stabilized into something new. His previous divine form re-emerged—permanent this time.

A voice echoed across dimensions:

"Vultra—God of Ying, Absolute Darkness, and the Void."

Vultra looked down at Tartarus. With a single glance, he disintegrated that version of the realm.

His now-fiancée jumped into his arms. "Let's get out of here, babe."

Though Vultra's mature form radiated dominance, he decided to return to his previous look—less threatening, more familiar.

They departed.

Scene shift:

Leo had just landed in Tartarus. He looked at the grim, silent realm and said:

"This isn't even enough to stop me."

What will Leo do? How will he fare against the horrors of Tartarus?

That… is a story for another chapter.
