Sprinting as fast he could down the hollowed out dirt tunnels Angelo tried his best to not think the worst. He passed a few teams on the way, that were also running towards the scream. He hadn't realized the impact that the heightened Dexterity had on his speed. He could see the opening of the tunnel coming up and in the center, the student that had let out the scream.
The blonde girl was on her knees and pointing towards a very large hole in the wall. As Angelo approached he heard her telling the teacher, Ms. Rose, about how some kind of beast came out of the wall when they pulled out a gem. It grabbed the student who had the gem and ran off.
Ms. Rose turned to the students, "Everyone must evacuate immediately. To the busses."
As everyone scrambled towards the tunnel they had come out of, Angelo could only stare at the hole the monster had made. That student might still be alive but not for very long. If the teachers went about this according to protocol then they'd be dead before the teachers got there. So, he did the only logical thing...and ran toward the hole.
Xavier saw him run off towards the hole and tried to call out to him bit the chaos drowned him out. Looking around he noticed that the teachers weren't even paying attention to Angelo as he ran. 'He's gonna get himself killed', he thought. Without thinking he chased after Angelo. Maybe hanging with this kid would be entertaining after all.
Angelo ran through the hole and kept going. He heard footsteps behind him and, thinking it was a teacher trying to stop him, he sped up.
"Would you slow down", he heard a familiar voice wheeze.
He stopped and turned to see Xavier eating up, "Why did you follow me? It's dangerous. Go back."
"Exactly, it's dangerous. So, I'm going with you", Xavier stated stubbornly.
"Alright, well I'll try to slow down a bit but we have to hurry."
With that, they took off. Angelo was still ahead of Xavier but he had slowed enough that it was only two steps of a distance. They ran in science while thinking of the monster that were gonna come face to face with. After a bit of running, they were about to round a corner, they heard scraping noises and whimpering.
Angelo peaked around the corner and all he could see was a hulking brute. The monster turned to the side and he could see that it had a bull's head but it's body was covered in rocky armor, like some sort weird minotaur/golem hybrid.
He ducked back behind and whispered, "It's a minotaur with a golem's body. It'll be strong. Our best bet is to avo....."
"New Quest: Rescue the student.
Rewards: Instant level up.
Optional quest: Defeat the monster.
Rewards: ????"
Well, that threw a wrench in his plan. He wanted to try to sneak up and free the student then run. But with the optional quest the rewards were hidden, and they were tempting. As he was trying to formulate a plan he heard a yell. Peaking around the corner he saw the minotaur placing the student over a spit.
With no time for a plan he had to act. He sprinted towards the student. He just needed to knock them over and they'd be safe. The minotaur saw him and roared, hurling a rock at Angelo. Flash stepping forward he kept running until he got to the student, tackling him off the fire.
"Try to get free, then run", Angelo said and flash stepped away. He threw a rock at the minotaur and kept running. He had to keep the attention on himself so the kid could escape.
The rocks kept flying and Angelo kept just barely dodging. Flash Step used 1 Stamina point every time he used it and he only had 8 points left, so he had to be sparing. He would dodge and duck as best as he could, trying to by time for the student to escape.
He glanced in their direction and saw them being helped up by Xavier. The kid was finally untied and took off running. Angelo breathed a sigh of relief as he saw a shadow approaching and turned to see a rock hurling towards him. With no time to dodge he braced for impact. Lightning arced through the air and shattered the rock.
"You gotta be more carefull", Xavier said as he raced over, "Let's get out of here."
"No, it'll keep coming back and the teachers are just worried about leaving. We have to kill it here and now."
Xavier wasn't sure what it was but the level of confidence in Angelo's voice made him smile.
"Very well. Let's do this", he said as he charged up his lightning and fired at the monster.
Unlike the rocks, the earthen armor was much stronger and the lightning barely scratched it.
"Aim for the head", Angelo shouted as he flash stepped past another rock.
He would have to go all out if they had any hope of survival. He activated his summon and the zombie appeared.
"Z, we need to kill this thing. Take this", he handed the zombie the other student's knife, "Now...KILL."
The zombie rushed forward and began attacking the minotaur's legs. It was doing any damage but it served it's purpose to distract the beast. Angelo also rushed forward and fired off his ability. The green beam struck the minotaur in the chest but there was no difference. Undeterred, he surged forward.
Xavier was firing lightning bolts in the back and was finding it hard to land his shots. The Undead appearing had caught him off guard but, as it seemed to be on their side, he decided to ask questions later. Right now none of the three's attacks were very effective. They had to come up with a plan. Then, it struck Xavier like a lightning bolt.
"Angelo, come here."
Angelo turned and ran over panting," Yeah?"
"I have an idea. Undead are know for their inhumane strength. You could have that zombie throw you up and then you can use your little teleport thing to get to the head."
Angelo thought about it. It was risky bit it was their best option, so he called the zombie over and told it the plan. They got in position and Angelo was hurled into the air. As he flew he fired of his rays. He waited until he was about to miss the head and then he flash stepped to it. Wrapping his arms around the neck he buried his dagger into it's neck.
The minotaur tried to throw him off but Angelo held on and kept attacking it's neck. The minotaur reached behind and grabbed Angelo and threw him. He slid against the floor and slammed into the wall.
"2/25 HP, Critical Condition"
The minotaur roared and charged Angelo. He tried to move out of the way but was in too much pain. He laid there and closed his eyes, waiting for the end. An end that never came as Z the zombie ran forward and grabbed the minotaur by it's horns, slowing it down. Xavier then jumped on the minotaur and, imbuing his dagger with lightning he buried it in the minotaur's head.
The beast collapsed and Angelo was flooded with notifications. He opened his eyes to see Xavier holding a healing potion in front of him. He drank it and instantly felt better as his HP shot up by 10. He stood up and saw the minotaur laying at his feet.

Z pointed at the creature and grunted.
"Your Undead "Z" wishes to consume the flesh of this creature. This will cause it to Evolve. Note: The type flesh it consumes will affect it's evolution."
Angelo thought for a second and nodded. Z then began to dig in. After a few bites it began shaking and then it crumbled into dust. Angelo began to panic until a hand shot out of the ground. Out climbed a massive undead brute.
"Your Undead 'Z' has evolved into a Draugr"
It was at least 7 feet tall. It's skin was stretched tight on it's bones and it had a grey beard on it's chin. A large sword was sound across it's back and what looked like old Nordic armor covered it's vitals.
"Well, that's one big change", Angelo smiled.
