Chapter 101 – A Throne for Two

The divine halls of the Celestial Pantheon were silent.

This place, where gods once gathered, where celestial beings once debated the fate of mortals, now belonged to her.

Aetheria sat upon the throne at the center of it all—her throne. Unlike the Sun God's golden seat, unlike the thrones of war, wisdom, or dragons, hers was woven from night itself. Shadows coiled around the high seat, stars flickered within the fabric of its existence, and at its base, an abyss stretched into infinity.

This was not a throne given.

It was a throne taken.

And beside it, just below the steps, stood him.

Leonhardt Valerian Everhart, the man who had once been heir to an empire, the man who had once been a mortal prince, now something beyond all of that.

He stood not as her subordinate, not as her subject, but as her equal.

Aetheria watched him from where she sat, her violet gaze unwavering. "You don't kneel."

Leonhardt smirked, his fiery red eyes meeting hers. "Should I?"

Aetheria leaned forward slightly, resting her chin on her hand. "It would be a sight to see."

Leonhardt exhaled a quiet laugh. "You and I both know that if I kneel, it wouldn't be out of submission."

Aetheria's lips curled into a slow smile. "That's true."

He took a step closer, the abyss at the base of her throne shifting beneath his feet—but it did not swallow him. It never would. The darkness would never take what was already hers.

Aetheria tilted her head, watching him. "The world calls you a fallen god."

Leonhardt reached out, his fingers brushing against hers where they rested on the arm of her throne. "The world doesn't understand what I am."

Aetheria's fingers curled around his. A silent claim.

"They don't need to," she murmured. "Only I do."

Leonhardt stepped onto the first step leading to her throne. Then the second.

He stopped just before her, standing over her, the height difference barely noticeable—but enough for him to look down at her, just slightly.

Aetheria arched a brow. "You're bold."

Leonhardt leaned in, his voice quiet. "And you love it."

Aetheria did not respond.

She didn't have to.

Because as he lowered his head, as his lips hovered just over hers, as his fingers traced over her wrist, he already knew the answer.

And when their lips finally met, there was no hesitation, no battle for dominance.

Because they had already conquered each other.
