{Chapter: 127 - New World And System Features}
As they walked into town together, side by side, Blink looked over at him, eyes sparkling.
"So… if you ever need someone to distract the next telepathic bombshell, I can volunteer. But next time, you do the kissing."
He paused, blinked once, then looked away with a soft chuckle. "We'll see."
—
For the past few days, Aiden had remained entirely within the base. He had no desire to venture outside. Daytime was devoted to the meticulous expansion of the facility—enhancing defenses, optimizing energy systems, and reinforcing structural integrity with a blend of advanced tech and knowledge he'd accumulated. By night, he immersed himself in silent meditation, absorbing the Aether energy, refining his control, and feeding it to the system housed within his body.
The world outside had fallen into an eerie stillness. No moves from Magneto. No unexpected visitors from the Hellfire Club. It was as if Emma Frost had never tried to manipulate him, her soft lips against his still fresh in his memory—but so too was the calculated cruelty behind them. Even SHIELD, ever eager to push him toward global crises, had issued no new missions.
It was, oddly enough, peaceful.
Aiden wasn't naïve enough to believe it would last.
In this lull, the construction effort progressed rapidly. Walls grew taller, internal power cores stabilized. The base was slowly transforming into more of a base.
But peace is merely the breath before the storm.
Suddenly, a sharp chime echoed through his mind.
> [Copy Plan Refreshed.]
Time Remaining: 15 Days.
Stay Duration Increased: 7 Days.
New Plane Available.]
Aiden's eyes narrowed.
The system had opened the third copy world. The first had tested his foundations. The second—Nice. Now, the third awaited, and he was already forming conclusions.
There were multiple options, but Aiden's mind fell upon one familiar name that stirred something inside him—Green Arrow.
> [Copy Selection: Green Arrow]
[Does the host wish to enter?]
Aiden hesitated only for a breath.
"Enter."
In a flash of iridescent light, the world around him shifted. Cold wind brushed past his face, and the landscape morphed from metallic walls and circuitry to cracked asphalt and flickering neon signs. The scent of distant smog and the sharp bite of urban decay greeted him.
He was standing in a side alley somewhere deep within Star City.
Every major hero had their domain. Superman had Metropolis, the symbol of hope. Batman lurked in Gotham's shadows, the eternal sentinel. Flash zipped through the streets of Central City, a bolt of red in motion. Green Lantern's home was Coast City, a blend of air force pride and cosmic responsibility.
And here, where broken glass crunched beneath his boots and rusted fire escapes loomed overhead, was Oliver Queen's city—Star City.
But it wasn't the gleaming paradise its name suggested.
Star City was a metropolis divided—split between marble towers and rotting tenements. The rich elite continued their cocktail parties behind bulletproof glass, while the poor scraped by, dodging gang wars and street crime that seemed to multiply like shadows in the dark. The city's heart was bleeding, and no amount of corporate philanthropy could stop the hemorrhage.
Aiden took a few steps forward, adjusting to the new environment. A dim light flickered from a corner store window nearby. A television was playing in the background, the static barely masking the volume of a breaking news report.
> "...Queen Industries has issued a statement confirming the return of its CEO, Oliver Queen, who was presumed dead after his yacht was lost at sea five years ago. Though no full statement has been released, sources close to the Queen family suggest he is recovering well and intends to resume leadership soon…">
Aiden turned his head slightly and glanced at the old TV. On the screen was a grainy photo of Oliver Queen. The young billionaire, playboy-turned-hero, was now supposedly back in Star City.
From beside him, a grizzled man wearing a faded denim jacket and a beanie scoffed.
"Can't believe that bastard's still alive. Five years gone, and now he just struts back like he owns the place again? Tch."
The man shoved his hands in his pockets and stormed off, muttering something about the "one percent" and how the city would've been better off without Queen's return.
Aiden raised a brow. Unpopular already? He smirked slightly. Not surprising.
From what Aiden recalled of the Arrowverse, Oliver Queen wasn't your conventional hero. He was a man forged in fire—stranded on Lian Yu, broken and reshaped by pain, betrayal, and countless battles. Unlike Superman's pure heart or Barry Allen's unwavering optimism, Oliver was a shadow, a blade in the dark. He fought dirty because he had to. He killed when it was necessary. He carried the weight of his failures like scars on his soul.
And yet… despite it all, he made a difference.
Star City didn't need a symbol. It needed a weapon. That was who the Green Arrow became.
And now, Aiden was walking through the same alleys Oliver once did, perhaps only days after his fabled return.

Timeline Quest: The Birth of the Justice League]
[Friendship Function Unlocked!]
A cascade of system prompts lit up Aiden's vision like a flickering HUD, each one more surprising than the last. He blinked, taking in the sudden influx of information. He had grown used to quests popping up whenever he changed planes, but this time something new was thrown into the mix—and it intrigued him.
"System," he asked, narrowing his eyes. "What exactly is this 'Friendship Function'?"
[Friendship, as the name implies, refers to the measure of interpersonal trust and positive rapport between the host and relevant characters. Increasing this value will open additional collaborative functions. At 80% friendship, the 'Fighting Field' will be enabled.]
Aiden raised a brow. "Fighting Field? Sounds like some kind of training arena... Can you explain that too?"
[Affirmative. When friendship with a character reaches 80% or higher, they will become available inside the Fighting Field. Within that space, the host can spar, train, or simulate cooperative battles with them. It's an advanced learning mechanism designed to sharpen your abilities through practical experience with allies.]
Aiden rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "That's... actually kind of brilliant. A sparring space with real superheroes from different worlds? I could learn fighting skills, tactics, maybe even some power control insights if they trust me enough..."
He crossed his arms and muttered to himself. "So, the stronger my bonds, the more allies I gain—not just emotionally but practically. That's one hell of a mechanic. Question—this Friendship Function, is it limited to alternate worlds only?"
[Negative. The Friendship Function is also accessible in the Main World.]
Aiden's eyes lit up. That changed everything.
"This must've unlocked because of the third plane… nice," he nodded, then his eyes narrowed slightly. "Wait, what's with this Story Quest? 'Birth of the Justice League'? That sounds like a massive-scale event. Am I supposed to just casually lead Earth's most iconic superhero team into existence?"
His brow twitched as he reread the quest window.
"Come on… I'm only here for seven days. I don't even have a Batcave, let alone a 'League'. Isn't this a bit unreasonable?"
[Clarification: The Timeline Quest is a persistent, interdimensional narrative timeline that extends across connected planes. There is no time limit. It can be completed across multiple trips.]
That actually made him exhale in relief. "So it's more of a long-term goal. Phew… okay. That's doable then."
In the meantime, he knew he had to focus on the Main and Side quests. But his mind drifted toward Carol—the version of her from the Green Lantern plane. She had helped him a lot before, and given the unstable nature of the system and planes, he wanted to ensure she was okay.
Aiden wanted to visit Coast City to visit Carol and make sure there wasn't any problem. In this way, he can safely delete the Green Lantern Plane and open a new one!
As long as the time axis is connected, it is sufficient to reserve the DC plane. If the time is the same then having one DC plane is sufficient.
Plus, verifying her safety meant he could safely delete that plane and free up space for another.
He bought a street map from a local vendor and marked the route to Coast City. After memorizing the general direction, he ducked into an alley, then allowed a brilliant aura of light to wrap around his body. He took off into the sky, soaring high above the buildings, casting a faint glow like a distant meteor over the city skyline.
