"I'm sorry for my disrespect." Michael quickly apologized, his hands trembling but he clutched them together. "I must be drunk." He said and Noah clenched his hand in his pocket into a fist.
He hated this uncomfortable feeling.
Michael raised his head and faintly smiled, like someone who had acknowledged they were at fault.
"I made a mistake." He said. "I'm just the new janitor, so please forgive me this once."
Noah looked into his eyes and though it looked like he understood what the situation was, there was still so much hurt in his eyes.
Being answered coldly by Noah, whom he wanted to meet so badly, hurt so much that he could cry. And he would.
But first... He needed to get out of there where everyone was watching.
He... He couldn't handle that cold gaze.
"It's fine." Noah said and dusted his arm to keep up the act. "Don't try to drink in the early mornings next time. If you're here to clean," he turned away. "Then focus on that."
