Chapter 68 - Cold Ice

Temphael smiled. And then he was gone.Nade buried his blade into the ground. The moment Temphael reappeared behind him, ice blades shot out of the ground. In time, Temphael managed to evade and widened the distance. Then he raised his arm, and above Nade, a white orb gathered. However, looking closer, there was something in that orb. It was a room.

Temphael swung his arm down and, with it, fired the orb at Nade. The orb was too fast to counter, so Nade shielded himself with ice before the orb exploded.

Booooooooom…There was smoke everywhere, and the room would have been destroyed were it not for Temphael using his power.

"Damn, that was fast! Maybe I expected too much from a Noble—"He stopped when he heard a whisper:"Blade of the Ice – Slow Death!"

The next moment, Nade stood behind Temphael. His right arm was swollen, and blood dripped from his head."You survived! But your attack could never—"

An ice ball formed around Temphael and shattered. Right away, Temphael spat blood. His chest had been cut. It was not too deep; however, it did hurt. Temphael could only use one power at once, so he had used his space ability to form an invisible wall as protection.

"Temphael, give it your best shot. Be it space or time itself! There is nothing I can't freeze. You included!"

In a forest in ParadiseDae hopped in place like a boxer, his guard up. His enemy rose to his feet and jiggled his arms."You're better than I thought!" he spoke.

Both men grinned—a short one, though. Then they shot forth. They were fast and had already reached each other. Punches flew and collided. No one gave in, and their speed only increased."Are you really human?" the man asked."Who knows!"

Dae grabbed the man by his shoulder. He tore him toward himself and rammed his knee into his chest. Not giving him any moment to gather strength, Dae followed with a kick to the face and brought him down with a punch. The series of attacks had no break between—just like Dae's next one.

He went to the ground and locked the man's arm between his legs. Then a crack followed, and the hellish cry of the man. Dae wasn't done. He freed the man's arm and prepared for the next one. That's when the man let out a powerful cry that paralyzed Dae.

It was only brief, but in a fight of pros like them, this could prove fatal. The skin of the man thickened and turned white, gold-striped. His skin looked like stone, and his eyes glowed golden. He reached a height of 2 meters, and he was broad."Time for round two!" he proclaimed.

He proceeded with a powerful stomp. The ground cracked, and Dae lost balance. That's when the enemy went for a tackle.Baaaam!

It hurled Dae into the air. And it had done quite the thing on him! His right arm was broken, and his skull lightly cracked. Yet, he was not done. But as he fell, he knew—and definitely saw—the enemy waiting for him."This bastard!" Dae cursed.

The enemy opened his mouth and gathered golden-white energy in it. At point blank, he fired his energy beam.Booooooom.

The pressure was immense. And Dae emerged from it, covered in wounds and burns. He was a mess, and it was a blessing that he was still alive. Was it, though?

The enemy realized the man was not done when he laid his gaze on Dae's face. It was injured; however, it had not lost the light of hope.

Dae formed a mighty fist and thundered it into the enemy's face, smashing him to the ground.Baaaaam.

This fist had quite the force behind it. Dae rose. He had hit the man with all his power, resulting in another broken arm."Hahahahaha!" the man rejoiced. His face was bleeding, and as he touched it, he noted the slight crack in his skull."What power! Are you truly human?""Who knows!"

It demanded everything from Dae just to remain upright. And some of it also applied to the enemy, for even while standing, he reeled toward Dae.

This, however, was only a phase, and soon he switched to another tackle. Dae ran straight at the enemy, gasping for air. Right before they were about to clash, Dae bent down and swiped the giant from the ground. Because the man had gone for a tackle, the momentum was still there and plunged him forward, crashing into the ground.

Meanwhile, Dae gathered his strength. Arms broken, skull cracked, and one leg swollen. It looked bad—really bad—for him. The giant was back on his feet, his smile brighter than ever."It was a good fight, but that's it. Your body has reached its limit!"

(Dae: I need time! If what Adam showed me in his memory is true, I can beat that man! But I need time!)"Fuck!" he cursed. "Then for now, there is only one solution!"

He turned around and ran. The enemy tilted his head."Hey, what are you doing? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
