"So, let me get this right, you two lived off the grid and have never entered a dungeon city? And you wish to work here as Breakers?"
The border officer raised his eyebrow as he checked the papers in front of him. He had a nametag that said "Archie." It showed the picture of a couple, a couple of photographs, written testimonies, and the names: Lucian and Chiara Alvestra.
The cold air from the air-conditioning was a great comfort from the hot sun outside. Inside a small, enclosed room, the couple was being investigated.
They were wearing clothes that looked tattered. They were dirty, greasy, and had even parts of their faces caked with dirt.
"Yes, officer. Monsters attacked our village. We fought some, but there were just too many. We couldn't even take anything with us but the clothes on our backs," the woman sobbed.
