The devastating attack from the Nyxaris slammed into the ground, sending up massive pillars of dust that obscured everything in sight. Chunks of debris scattered as the earth cracked beneath the force, and a loud shockwave echoed across the area. Yet, as the dust began to settle, something unsettling caught the Nyxaris off guard.
There was no blood.
Its large insectoid eyes narrowed in confusion. It tilted its head and raised one of its clawed legs slowly, peering through the haze that remained.
'Was it really that easy to crush a human skull?' it wondered. Something wasn't right. The battlefield had fallen silent, too silent.
The dust cleared further, revealing the ground where its target had once stood.
Nothing was there.
