Chapter 19 - Hell’s Dominion (8)

A hollowed silence screamed throughout the dining hall as Micheal and Kaiser stared at each other in confusion- albeit for different reasons.

Could you repeat that one more time? I hit my head earlier and I think my body is starting to suffer from it.

Kaiser with a face that could be compared to a robot short circuiting exhaled before repeating himself- he knew this wasn't an easy topic to explain- at least not without revealing some information.

Do you remember our first in counter with Hela?

Yes, I do… why does that matter.

Micheal question was genuine, but at the same time it felt lacking to Kaiser. Regardless of that he decided to continue speaking- recalling the fact that Hela was a skilled individual.

In fact, she was too skilled of an individual to be consider a freshman just as they were- not only did she know about the magic refinement technique, but on top of that she knew enough to even guide us on achieving this technique.

However, Micheal was not convinced and even went as far as to retort him.

…Are you crazy? Have you finally lost it.

Huh?!- What part of that was crazy?

Every bit of it. I agree that Hela "seems" to be more skilled than we are, but that could simply be due to the fact that she's the daughter of King Arthur.

Kaiser was frozen by Michael's' words- "King Arthur's Daughter"? This phrase continued to ring in his head- over and over almost as if Michael's words were incoherent to his ears, but suddenly it clicked for him.

He face palmed himself- dumbfounded to the level of ignorance that oozed off of him at that moment. As for why he did this action- well it was simple, he remembered the moment Hela stated her full name too the entire class, but Kaiser being self absorbed at the time caused him to overlook this crucial piece of information.

Of course… now it all makes sense! How could I have been so blind!

Micheal looking even more worried than before decides to entertain him by asking 'what makes sense'.

This question made Kaiser perk up with a slight grin on his face as if he was anticipating Micheal asking him this question, and in that same motion he stood up and slammed his hands on the table with an ecstatic expression.

That wasn't the only reason for my concern… there's another reason as well.

…And what is this other reason?

Haha, I'm glad you asked.

Clearing his throat Kaiser reeves up before telling Micheal the final piece to the puzzle.

It's because of Kaijin!

Uhh, who's Kaijin?

It was an understatement to say that Kaiser was baffled by his question- bewildered even. How could he not know who Kaijin was-

At that exact moment Kaiser realized that he never actually told Micheal about Kaijin. This realization caused him to sit back down while oddly feeling a sensation of defeat.

Now that I think about it- wasn't that just the name you told to Hela when you had introduced yourself to her? How does that have any importance?

Kaiser stared at Micheal with a blank expression- the reason for this expression was due to him thinking about whether he should tell Micheal about Kaijin. After some thought he came to a decision.

Well, to keep it simple- Kaijin is my-

But before Kaiser could utter another word, he quickly realized that something was amiss and before long he soon realized that Micheal was frozen and not just Micheal but everything in that room was frozen.

Confusion covered his face- his skin began to grow pale and his blood began to run thin- however this wasn't because he was unsure of why everything was frozen. In fact, he knew exactly why or at least he felt he knew.

Is… is this hyper-flow?

And this assessment wasn't far from the truth- however he soon realized that what was happening was a lot different from his regular hyper-flow. Everything around him was completely gray-ish in color, but this wasn't the biggest difference as hyper-flow caused Kaisers' perception of color to become distorted anyways.

The biggest difference was the fact that everything around him was completely frozen in place- not a budge- not a twitch- complete stillness. This was the strangest thing for him since hyper-flow only slowed down his perception- and before he could do anymore thinking- a loud voice rumbled in his head.

Man for a human you talk why to much you know that.

Kaijin?!- is… that you?

You know I never agreed to that name, right?

Hehe… anyways- what's the meaning of this? I know that this is your doing.

Kaijin fell silent- a deafening silence that echoed louder than any sound that could be physically produced- leaving Kaiser to wonder if he had disappeared again only to be interrupted.

Listen… you must not tell Micheal of my existence.

HUHHH?!!!- wha- why not?!

Listen I know you wish to share my existence, but I highly recommend against it. For lower creatures just knowing of my existence can cause mental problems to form, and unless you want your friend to slowly suffer, I advise you to not tell him of my existence.

Kaisers' face began to frown upon hearing this news- not only could he not tell his most trusted friend about him, but now there was a huge risk for anyone unfortunate enough to gain awareness of Kaijins existence.

You know what- I'm starting to grow tired of you. First u constantly disappear without even so much as a heads up, and now you're telling me that I can't even tell anyone about you. For someone so powerful you sure keep a lot of secrets.

Kaiser I-

No… just no- how do you expect me to trust anything you say if all you do is keep secrets?

This caused Kaijin to fall silent before responding to Kaisers' question.

Kaiser- I wish I could tell you more. I truthfully wish I could be more honest with you… but right now isn't the right time. I need you to trust me on this.

Fine, I'll trust you- just this once

And with that color began to fill the room again as time began to flow once more. Using his time wisely Kaiser decides to tell Micheal that Kaijin was just a friend of his who told him not to trust Hela.

This caused Micheal to raise an eyebrow before giving Kaiser a reluctant 'okay'.
