I swallowed down nothing. Nothing in the entire world would have been enough to prepare me for the next words that came out of his mouth. “Be my wife.”


I coughed and pushed him away,  standing up from the sofa immediately.

The surprise in his eyes was evident despite the mask he had on. “Why? Am I not a good candidate for you?” He asked calmly.


He stood up, and  before I could register what he was about doing, his right hand wrapped around my waist, his left hand around my neck.

“I'm neither asking nor requesting you to do it Serena, I'm ordering you to be my wife."

I went and sat down on my bed opposite him where he sat sipping from his cup of tea.


This man was a total stranger to me, I had no idea where he came from or what his mission for standing in front of my door was but something in me assured me that I didn't need to be scared of him.


And even if he in the end orov d that he was someone that was worth my warm welcome, I had my powers to protect me, besides he wouldn't be inside of the palace if he was a bad person.


"So…" I started talking and the man looked up at me. "You made mention of Serena, why are you looking for her?" I asked.
