As much as I wanted to confront Kari and learn about Iris, my mate was my priority. After giving her beet juice to help her recover, she seemed better but a bit dizzy.
I assumed it was due to her experiencing her vampire instincts for the first time, which left her feeling weak. Surprisingly, she wasn't eager to seek revenge on her enemy but instead focused on taking care of herself.
Unbeknownst to me, she had other plans in store. Upon entering the packhouse and being greeted by the staff, she hurried to the kitchen, and I followed her.
"What do you need? Are you hungry? I can prepare something for you," I offered in a soothing tone, but she remained visibly irritated, likely due to my actions while under a spell.
If I had been in my right mind, I would never have made that decision against her. But the truth is, I had lost my mind by then, and her forgiveness was not something I could easily obtain.
