Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: What's There to Be Proud of in Moving Bricks?

"Sure enough, Longevity Posture can continue to improve. And after reaching Level 2, the circulation speed of my Qi Blood has sped up quite a bit. It seems I won't take much longer to raise my Qi Blood by 1K."

Lu Sheng said excitedly.

"Teacher Gao's skills are far superior to Old Li's. If he were to give lessons, wouldn't each session cost at least one thousand, even two or three thousand federation points?"

"The one-hour one-on-one guidance from Teacher Gao every day is a huge favor to me."

"If I have the chance in the future, I must repay Teacher Gao properly!"

Lu Sheng made up his mind. After returning home, he rested and freshened up briefly before continuing to grind his progress.

Just like that, five days passed in the blink of an eye.

During these five days, besides the one-hour daily individual training with Gao Feng, Lu Sheng spent all his free time diligently practicing the Five Elements Fist and Longevity Posture.

During these five days, Lu Sheng also met the other two instructors.

The Cultivator System instructor was a frail-looking middle-aged man who appeared scholarly.

The Mechanical Transformer System instructor, on the other hand, was a powerhouse whose limbs and torso had been mechanically modified, making him look cold and extremely serious.

The reason Lu Sheng, as a Martial Artist, had to attend classes for these two systems was to know himself and his enemies. After all, he would inevitably encounter strong individuals from these systems in the future. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses would allow him to fight better.

During these five days, the Elite Class experienced another actual combat session.

This time it wasn't Yang Meng, who was reportedly preparing to break through to the second stage of Bone Forging and rarely showed up for class.

The fighter was another Martial Artist from the Martial Artist Camp, whose Qi Blood had reached 70 cards, second only to Yang Meng in strength, named Nan Tianming.

His opponent was an Elite Class student from the Mechanical Transformer Camp named Cheng Xu.

This actual combat took place in the Martial Arts Cultivation Hall.

Listening to Gao Feng's explanation, Lu Sheng learned that Cheng Xu's Spiritual Power had reached 80 points. Relying on the bio-field generated by his mechanical modifications, Nan Tianming couldn't break Cheng Xu's defense.

In just three minutes, Nan Tianming was overwhelmed by the bio-field and defeated.

Nan Tianming's chest was torn open by Cheng Xu's attack, pouring out blood continuously.

"Oh? Sorry, didn't hold back, but it's no big deal. I'll cover your medical expenses!"

Standing on the ring with his arms crossed, Cheng Xu said with a smile.

Despite appearing polite, it was clear to those with sharp eyes that he harbored deep contempt for Martial Artists.

This made the watching Martial Artists furious, but there was nothing they could do.

They could only swallow their anger.

Lu Sheng watched it all calmly, without a ripple in his heart.

It was widely acknowledged that Martial Artists below the fourth stage who hadn't mastered Qi Blood Illusion couldn't compete with the other two systems. Instead of getting angry here, it was better to practice hard and master Qi Blood Illusion as soon as possible.

During these five days, Lu Sheng's proficiency also steadily increased.

Thanks to Gao Feng's guidance, Lu Sheng could raise his Longevity Posture proficiency by five points daily. Eating a Level 1 Qi Blood Pill each day also increased his Qi Blood by one card.

As for the Five Elements Fist, his proficiency only went up by three points a day.

In five days, Lu Sheng had finished all the Level 1 Qi Blood Pills he had previously exchanged for.

Sitting in the classroom, he stared at his system panel.

[Name: Lu Sheng]

[Profession: Martial Artist]

[Realm: Qi Blood Realm (18/100)]

[Longevity Posture: (26/100) Level 2]

[Five Elements Fist: (16/100) Level 1]

"Eighteen cards of Qi Blood already, this progress is quite impressive. But without the support of Qi Blood Pills, my speed will slow down. No money, such a headache!"

Lu Sheng rubbed his temples. The resources for the Elite Class weren't available every day. Given the scarcity of resources in the current Human Federation, the school's monthly allocation to the Elite Class was already quite generous.

But it was still far from enough for Lu Sheng.

"I need to find some part-time jobs. As a first-stage Martial Artist, I should be able to earn quite a bit."

Lu Sheng hesitated before looking at his deskmate, Qiu Song, who had introduced him when he first joined the Elite Class.

"Part-time jobs? For us Martial Artists, the choices are being sparring partners for the Mechanical Transformers and Cultivators or moving bricks!"

Qiu Song shrugged.

"Despite the era of technological explosion, in some complex areas, transporting heavy items still requires us Martial Artists. Even though advanced equipment is sophisticated, the cost plus maintenance is far pricier than hiring us Martial Artists."

"When it comes to moving bricks, our Martial Artists have the highest cost-performance ratio!"

Qiu Song said with a hint of pride, as if it were an honorable thing.

Lu Sheng twitched his lips and couldn't help but think, "Sparring partners? Moving bricks? This career seems rather unpromising."

Of course, he knew there were other ways to make money, but for a novice first-stage Martial Artist like him, those ways were likely dangerous and beyond his reach.

"Well, forget it. I'll move bricks honestly on weekends to boost my strength first."

After mulling it over, Lu Sheng resigned himself to the fact.

Soon, the class bell rang, and Lu Sheng habitually headed toward Gao Feng's office. Every day after school for the past five days, Lu Sheng would go there for solo guidance.

This day was no exception.

After an hour of guidance, Lu Sheng's Longevity Posture proficiency increased by another five points, and his Five Elements Fist proficiency raised by three points.

Gao Feng watched Lu Sheng's steady progress. Despite appearing calm, he always felt stirred inside.

"Even with modest gains, seeing this kid improve steadily each day... aside from talent, it shows he must be working very hard daily. Otherwise, he wouldn't have these results."

Gao Feng pondered.

At that moment, as Lu Sheng prepared to leave, Gao Feng hesitated before finally calling out to him.

"Hey, wait a minute!"

Gao Feng stopped Lu Sheng, who looked back puzzled, noticing Gao Feng's uncomfortable expression.

In the end, Gao Feng gritted his teeth, took out a bottle of Level 1 Qi Blood Pills from his pocket, and handed it to Lu Sheng.
