The engines roared as the lights went out.
Brisbane Grand Prix was underway.
Tyres screamed against the tarmac as twenty cars surged forward from the starting grid. The sun cast harsh glares off their carbon fiber bodies as fans leapt from their seats, the sound of 1000 horsepower machines vibrating through the very bones of the circuit.
Turn 1 – The Launch
Callum Graves got off the line clean, defending P1 into the first corner from Ayanda Nkosi who tried to squeeze in tight on the inside. Finn Carter, always lurking, went wide to avoid contact but dropped a position. From P9, Sukhman Singh made a blistering start, darting through gaps with reflexive precision, overtaking Lukar Meier and Omar Irani within seconds.
"Singh's awake now!" Jack Simmons roared over commentary. "That's the driver we were promised for!"
Whitney Moore added, "You can see that hunger in him today—he's slicing up the midfield like a scalpel."
But up front, Ayanda had Callum under pressure, sticking to his gearbox through the opening sector like glue.
Lap 5 – Shake-ups
On Lap 5, disaster struck for Isabella Romano. A slight touch from Ryan Brooks in Turn 7 sent her off-line, and she dipped into the runoff, rejoining in P10. Meanwhile, Daan Vermer executed a stunning double overtake on Carter and Reid down the back straight.
"Vermer's finally got his rhythm back!" Whitney said. "That's vintage Daan!"
And then, the roar from the crowd: Sukhman was now P4.
His aggressive moves were calculated but clean. He overtook Charlotte Reid on the inside of Turn 4, then drafted behind Carter before making the move into Turn 11.
"What did I say?" Jack shouted. "This kid remembered how to drive!"
Lap 12 – The Turning Point
Then came the chaos.
Ayanda, still P2 and chasing Callum hard, suddenly lost power.
Smoke erupted from the rear of her car.
Her engine exploded mid-sector, sending flames licking up the engine cover. The crowd gasped. Ayanda managed to steer the car to a halt by the emergency lane, uninjured but visibly shaken.
Yellow flags were waved.
"Tragedy for Nkosi!" Whitney exclaimed. "She was right in it—and now she's out!"
"Heartbreaking stuff," Jack added. "Engine failure. Not like her her own fault. That's motorsport at its most ruthless."
The safety car was deployed.
Positions froze temporarily: Callum in the lead, Daan second, Sukhman now in P3, Lukar P4.
Lap 16 – The Restart
When the safety car returned to the pits, the race resumed.
Sukhman got a monster restart. As soon as green flags waved, he dove on Daan Vermer at Turn 2 and forced his way into P2 with a bold move.
Whitney gasped. "Sukhman Singh is flying today!"
Jack added, "That's confidence, baby! that's the balls of steel— that's not the kid who partied his race away last week. That's a contender."
Lukar Meier, however, had been biding his time. From P4, he used his superior traction setup to pass both Daan and Sukhman in successive laps, climbing to P1 with an aggressive but fair move around the outside of Turn 8.
Lap 21 – Final Laps
The final ten laps were a symphony of defense and desperation.
Callum tried to regain lost ground but couldn't close the gap to the top 3. Sukhman, now in P2, was under heavy pressure from Daan Vermer who smelled podium redemption.
Meanwhile, Finn Carter capitalized on a mistake from Reid to grab P4. Reid herself was struggling—her car didn't feel right since the safety car period. She ended up slipping to P9 by the end of the race.
Charlotte's radio echoed with frustration. "Rear grip's gone. I can't hold anyone off."
Final Lap
Lukar maintained his lead with ice-cold precision. Sukhman couldn't catch him, but he defended fiercely from Daan's final charge. Every corner was life-or-death in their duel. Sparks flew—literally—as their undertrays scraped the tarmac.
The checkered flag waved.

Media Reaction:
Jack Simmons was practically on fire in the commentary booth.
"Ladies and gentlemen, that... was a race!" he yelled. "Lukar Meier silences every critic today with a world-class win! And Sukhman Singh—what a comeback! The kid went from a walking headline to a standing ovation. That second place? That was earned with blood and grit."
Whitney was more composed but equally impressed.
"This changes the dynamic of the championship. Callum still leads, but Sukhman is only five points behind—and with Ayanda's DNF, it's now officially a three-way fight."
Jack added, "And let's not forget Finn Carter—quietly clawing his way into contention. This season's turning into an absolute brawl!"

Articles titled "Redemption Drive: Sukhman Singh is Back" and "Lukar's First Win – A Long Time Coming" dominated news outlets.
For now, Sukhman didn't care about headlines.
He sat in the back of the Vaayu garage, sipping water, heart still racing.
This time, the sweat was from effort—not regret.
He looked over to coach Arne.
The man gave a slight nod.
A silent but powerful gesture.
