Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Hunting (2)

[Keeeek!]

Bang-!

"Why don't you just leave the room and fall down?"

After 30 minutes of dealing with the rats on the spot, surprisingly no problems occurred. It was embarrassing to even talk about cleaning.

Leon carefully lifted the dead man-eating rat into the bag.

The rats that were climbing the bridge like crazy were easily knocked down with a single wave of the hand, despite their momentum.

Now, it was more of a hassle to clean up the body.

I set fire to the curtain, causing all the rats to fall to the floor, and answered simply.

"It's because you're strong."

"I see…. Did you fill your bag too?"

"uh."

"Then let's clean up and go."

Leon said, looking down at the rats caught on the ends of his boots.

Palm-sized rat carcasses were strewn across the muddy dirt floor from the rain the day before.

Leon clicked his tongue as he watched the scene.

"I know it needs to be dealt with, but it's a bit sad that there are so many of them. It would be nice if there was a cure."

I nodded at those words.

These types of demons are ordinary animals that have acquired magical powers and have cores like humans, and they constantly feel a thirst for magical power.

There is no cure other than periodically infusing it with divine power. It would be nice if it could be cured with that, but even that is not a fundamental solution.

'It's certainly pitiful when you look at it that way.'

It was quite leisurely to feel such emotions while looking at a swarm of rats frantically trying to devour flesh in front of me. Usually, people are too busy living to think about cannibalistic rats.

Leon was this kind of person in the novel too.

I don't remember the exact time, but at some point we developed a treatment specifically for demons.

I tied the full sack, let it float in the air, and opened my mouth.

"We can make the cure. Why don't you try making it later?"

"Me? Hey, even adults can't do that."

"what?"

I burst out laughing because it was so ridiculous.

Looking back, that part I read was quite a long time ago.

Anyway, from the perspective of someone who knows what the future Leon is making, it just makes me laugh.

I turned and walked back to the starting point, tapping Leon on the shoulder.

"If you don't do it, I'll make it, so lend me your home lab."

"First, tell me you're alive."

After a long and fruitless conversation, we arrived at a familiar place.

The manager who happened to be outside spotted the two and greeted them.

"You finished it quickly."

"I'll just leave this and go back."

I put the bag containing the rats down in front of the building.

The manager approached the figure, which seemed to be filled with something, with a questioning look in his eyes.

"Why is it like this… huh?!"

The manager was speechless when he opened the full sack.

"Where did all these come from…. This is the first time I've seen so many man-eating rats."

"Is it that much?"

"Yes, at this point, it seems like you've completely dried up the seeds. Usually, even if you find a lot, there are only five or six…."

"They probably sensed our magic and appeared more often than usual. They are basically magic-hungry beasts."

The manager nodded at Leon's explanation.

"I see. With this amount, that type of thing won't come out for a while. Fortunately, it was already a headache because they would occasionally show up and go to the houses."

"I'm glad it helped."

"Oh, I'll have to try it to find out, but it should be worth at least 50,000."

The manager picked up the bag, put it down, and said:

I nodded at that. I worked for an hour and earned about 5 million won. I couldn't find work like this anywhere.

'I brought it to the level of extermination, so… .'

Leon, who grew up in a wealthy family and lacked any sense of reality, seemed to be satisfied with his pay considering his time.

Leon, who had entered the barrier again, shrugged his shoulders as if surprised and opened his mouth.

"I can earn a month's allowance in just one hour. This kind of work is better than I thought. Thanks to you, I had a great experience."

"Yes. But just in case, I'm saying this. You shouldn't think that you'll earn this much for an hour of work."

"Of course I know… I know."

Leon rolled his eyes and answered.

I don't know. He's just a typical rich kid. It's fortunate that he didn't follow the main character to the imperial palace and work in finance.

Leon quickly changed the subject, noticing that I didn't believe him at all.

"Anyway, among the people I investigated, I came across some decent ones."

"okay."

It would be difficult for non-magicians because it was fast and large, but for us magicians, it was a welcome opponent because we could just surround ourselves with a body shield to prevent it from tearing flesh.

"50k on this difficulty? If you stay up all night, you should be able to earn enough to buy the two items you want and still have some left over. It'll probably end faster since I'm here too."

"Yeah. But I guess you plan on staying here too. I thought you'd say let's just hold on tight."

"Since I'm here, I should do it properly. Since not everyone volunteers to come, I think it would be good to do it right the first time I come."

"Well, if that's what you want."

At that moment, I stopped walking again.

Leon looked at me with an ominous look.

"What, I smell blood again?"
