Mei Mei needed to talk to someone about her conversation with Jingzhe. She needed to know if she had overreacted.
She turned to Rose and opened up. "The empress offered him a job."
Rose's blew air out of her mouth. The look on her face was amazement and curiosity. "Congratulations to him. He has officially entered the big leagues. His future will be bright from there."

"Hold off the excitement for a moment." Rose raised her hand. "First tell me what kind of job it is. We could be going through premature excitement only to find out later on that is Long Shuang's tutor or her shoe shiner."
