The candlelight that was lit between the two of them flickered gently. The clinking of cutlery, and the faint music of the piano playing made the entire restaurant feel like it was floating in some faraway peaceful world.
Lucius sat straight on his seat, sipping the expensive drink Elena had ordered for them. It was rich, warm, and with the kind of burn that tasted expensive.
And in that moment, for just one moment, things felt... normal between them.
It was peaceful.
But of course, peace can't last long in Lucius's world.
Ting! Ting! Ting!
The sudden sound of a spoon striking a glass echoed through the restaurant.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! May I have your unwanted attention please!"
Lucius's lips twitched hearing the loud, dramatic voice filled with smugness.
"Grab your kebabs, shove yourself silent with them, and walk the hell out of here!"
"I have a date to interrupt."
And with that every head in the restaurant turned.
