Fields and abandoned settlements swept before Kain's eyes, gracing his view through the truck's window.
Whether Lurra knew what had happened last night or not was unknown, but Sylvia was along for the ride. She was looking in the opposite direction with puffed up cheeks.
"I would have beaten you easily," she muttered unhappily. "That ice trick... It couldn't hurt me, I'm sure of it!"
Silence.
It was the best weapon against Sylvia, and also the best way to piss her off.
"You're ignoring me? Pffft!" she snorted. "I'm sure you'll be afraid to challenge me to the opening battle of the ceremony."
"Hmm?"
That got Kain's attention.
"The opening battle? What's that?"
"Hah, no wonder you don't know anything, peasant!"
Kain shrugged, turning away. "You don't want to talk, don't talk. I'll find out soon enough anyway."
