Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 "Plan XXV"

Revenge of Chaos Insurgency

Chapter 5

"Plan XXV"

March 15th, 2031

Stand by awaiting new order, our company is waiting for further instructions, and our captain in charge, Captain Allen, got replaced with First Lieutenant Kiriyama Tachibana, strange because it's not the right moment to change who is in charge of command. Did someone? No, it's not possible, there's no way someone killed him to keep him silent.

Is it about the secret we found in the armory? Probably? And now the second in command is me because I was chosen by First Lieutenant Kiriyama. After all, she saw me worthy and helped to minimize casualties in the bastion before our company.

No one is killed, only 15 WIA, while the militia? Well, they have 975 KIA, 10 MIA into an unknown fate, and 15 WIA badly near death. Such a massacre, but I can't blame them because they are weaker than regular soldiers.

They only get taught how to shoot, no endurance training, and other types of training, but they might come in handy in the future. Waking in my chair, I relax my body before I take my semi-automatic rifle and head outside. The winter before was a climate change and not caused by the anomaly. The world is already like this, they should make it better, not ruin it. Still, what can we do? Greed takes over everything.

Walking to the tower, I can see Kiriyama smoking and looking for whether not enemy is coming. Approaching from behind her, I greet her.

"Find something?"

She turned her back and looked at me, and replied.

"Nope, it's safe for now. Also, are you here asking me for the next operation plan or what?"

I can only reply and chuckle because she knew it right, such a detective.

"Well, yeah, I want to know the next operations and what our plan is, the reinforcements still on the way though."

Kiriyama, exhaling the smoke from her cigarette, replies and looks at me.

"The scout has just returned a few hours ago, telling me that a heavy cannon and howitzer heavily fortify the next bastion we will launch attack next, they heavily depends on their cannon and Howitzer and there's lot of trenches and bunker armed with machine gun, though I can guess they don't have any anti-air gun, they probably have it but not too many, I hope this is not another massacre."

Hearing the bastion, I can think how the struggle, to think of not making more casualties while completing the objective, but what can she do? There's nothing against fate, especially death, when it's in front of your eyes. Whatever, for now we have to think about the plan and propose it before those T.O.P. leaders propose a suicidal plan like they did before. I wonder how the hell they got into position in Chaos Insurgency before.

1 May 2031, 2 months forced us to think as hard as we can and make a plan and have a very hard debate with the T.O.P leader, ugh, those bastards, really, who do they think? They always propose to attack from all sides and, according to our scout's fact, that the cannon and Howitzer can shoot up to more than 20 Km. That's enough power to blow all of us into meat only to be eaten by wild animals, ugh, those T.O.P never intend to win and make desperate losses for us and their militia.

Woke up late again, I head to the rooftop and see Kiriyama smoking again late this night, approaching from behind her, I pat her shoulder before sitting next to her.

"Stressed again?"

Kiriyama looked at me and sighed.

"Yeah, those bastards never understand how to make a better plan. What they care about is sacrificing their soldiers after we force them to change tactics. It's like they got blinded by the pride and winning against the GOC at first."

Sighing and looking at the sky while drinking the sake in my hands, I can tell that this person never understands how to make a better plan or make the GOC.

I talk for a while with Kiriyama until midnight, it's looks like she is comfortable with me after all we known each other for a while, the night is so calm and the star shining in the sky make me wonder my fate, will I die in the future or I die because old age, it's doesn't matter now, and for you Arthur I hope you rest in peace in the heaven, I promise I will lead those GOC bastard to their own grave and hell next.

Suddenly, I noticed Kiriyama leaning her head to my shoulder, and I saw her face, falling deep into sleep because she had drunk all that sake for herself, such a child falling asleep on their father's lap when their father is telling them stories, ah, what an old memory. The wind is chilling, yet I can feel it's fresh, I love this world, and I hope I can release this world from the GOC control or what they believe as world government in their way, Kiriyama in other hands mumbling something in Japanese which I couldn't understand but seeing how cute her expression? It softens my heart, I hope we both survive this war.

A few hours just pass and when it's 3 Am, I try wake Kiriyama up, but it's looks like she fell into a very deep sleep, I can only chuckle and carry her body to our barracks again, placing her body to the bed, I look at her face for a while before saying "Good night." After that, I return to my bed, before sleeping, I pray to God, that I hope for safety, and I hope that God will protect me until the end of the war.

7th June 2031, after long and stressful debate with the T.O.P leaders, we both come into conclusion and that is, our company will infiltrate from deep inside the bastion while the T.O.P will lead the charge at the bastion when the bastion internal was suffering from our attack, it's might be a very dangerous plan but we must take the cost, if not we cannot kick the GOC away from here and liberate this continent from the GOC's hand. Afterwards? I can't say what we will do after that but we will let the local people take over and make their local government, the plan was name "Offensive XXV", with this plan we hope that we can secure another bastion and make the GOC bleed to their own grave, I hope there's no tragedy happen to us later and I hope I will kill the commander who kill you Arthur with my own hands.
