In the white-toned hospital room, a man stood by the window, gazing out into the pitch-black night. It was four thirty in the morning, and there were hardly any people on the street.
The woman on the bed slowly opened her eyes, the white light overhead piercing her eyes, making her frown slightly.
She turned her head to look around, her mind a bit dazed. She stared at the IV hanging by the bedside, then lifted her hand with the needle inserted, wondering to herself why she was in the hospital. Was this a dream?
She wanted to sit up but found herself powerless.
"Awake?" Shen Yanchen, hearing the movement, came over and looked down at her discomforted face.
She turned her head to look at him and opened her mouth hoarsely, "Brother Yan Chen..."
He responded gently, "Hmm, are you feeling unwell anywhere?"
