Chapter 117: Beibei My Hatred for Evil Soul Masters Knows No Bounds

According to intelligence gathered by spies from the Sun Moon Empire, the White Tiger Duke had returned to the Ming Dou Mountain Range, but his state was drastically different from before. He was no longer the spirited and confident man he once was. To be honest, this news brought joy to many high ranking officials in the Sun Moon Empire. After all, Dai Hao was undoubtedly the most skilled military commander among the three original nations of the Douluo Continent. If something was wrong with him, it would weaken the Star Luo Empire, which was undoubtedly beneficial for the Sun Moon Empire.

Beibei nodded and admitted directly, "I do know Huo Yuhao. So, Director Lin, could you arrange for me to meet with him?" He hadn't forgotten his purpose for coming to the Sun Moon Empire. Here, the only person he was truly familiar with was Huo Yuhao.

"Alright, I'll have someone ask for you, but whether he agrees to meet depends on Huo Yuhao himself," Lin Jiayi responded without a hint of impatience. He understood that the treatment Xiao Hongchen and the others received at Shrek Academy would largely depend on how well Beibei and his group were treated at the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy.

Although there was a considerable distance between Mingdu and Shrek City, it was undeniable that Shrek Academy had ways of gathering intelligence on the exchange students' situation. The only real limitation was the speed of information transmission. To ensure that Xiao Hongchen and the others had a better experience at Shrek Academy, Lin Jiayi naturally wanted to maintain a friendly attitude toward Beibei.

"Thank you for your help, Director Lin. I'll treat you to a meal another day," Beibei said politely.

Lin Jiayi glanced at Beibei, thinking to himself that this guy was quite well mannered much more so than Xuan Zi, whose temper was notoriously foul. The mistreatment suffered by the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy's team in Star Luo City and their conflict with Xuan Zi had already spread throughout the entire Sun Moon Empire, igniting the anger of many. While many Sun Moon citizens admired Shrek Academy for its power, Xuan Zi's actions had disappointed even the most devoted Shrek supporters. When it came to the honor of the empire, most people wouldn't blindly worship Shrek Academy.

"It's no trouble, I'm just asking Huo Yuhao to meet with you," Lin Jiayi replied as he turned to a nearby teacher, "Teacher Tang, go find Huo Yuhao and tell him that a student named Beibei from Shrek Academy wants to meet him."

"Understood," Teacher Tang nodded and quickly left.

A short while later, Teacher Tang returned, flying in alongside Huo Yuhao before landing on the ground.

"Yuhao." Beibei forced a smile onto his weary face when he saw him. The past few days had been exhausting due to Tang Ya's disappearance, leaving him drained. He knew it would take some time to adjust his state of mind.

"Brother Bei, what are you doing here?" Huo Yuhao asked as he walked up to him.

"This isn't the best place to talk. Why don't we find somewhere private? I have something to discuss with you," Beibei suggested.

Huo Yuhao glanced at Beibei's tired expression and nodded. "Alright, Brother Bei. I know this area well I'll take you somewhere we can eat and talk."

Beibei was generally a rational person in most situations, except when it came to Tang Ya. The moment she was involved, he lost all sense of reason. Huo Yuhao still remembered how, in the original story, Beibei had trusted the so called Blue Silver Saintess Tang Ya not to harm him only to end up severely injured by her, temporarily preventing him from competing.

"Brother Bei, I think it's time you tell me exactly what's going on," Huo Yuhao said once they were seated in a private dining room at a hotel. While he already knew that any issue Beibei brought up would be related to Tang Ya, he chose not to call him out on it immediately. The dishes in front of them were still steaming, filling the room with warmth.

Beibei sighed. "Yuhao, the reason I came to talk to you is simple you might not know this, but Xiao Ya has gone missing."

No… I do know she's missing. In fact, she's already become the Blue Silver Saintess of the Holy Spirit Church… Huo Yuhao thought to himself.

"That's why I need your help in finding her," Beibei continued. "I know you hold an important position in the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy. Of course, I wouldn't ask you to help for free I can give you a few soul bones in return."

To Beibei, Huo Yuhao was once just a weak child. But now, he had become a household name in the Sun Moon Empire as a champion team member. His level of fame was difficult to imagine. Beibei could understand why after being suppressed by Shrek Academy and the other three nations of Douluo for over four thousand years, the entire Sun Moon Empire had been desperate for a championship win in the Continental Soul Master Tournament. However, due to the unfavorable reputation of their nation in the competition, their teams had always struggled. Each year, the officials would hype up their team as the strongest ever, only for them to fall short, with their best previous placement being second place.

But this time, the Sun Moon Battle Team had finally won. It was a massive morale boost for the entire empire.

Huo Yuhao processed Beibei's request, knowing full well that Tang Ya was with the Holy Spirit Church. However, if Beibei went looking for her, he was practically walking into his own death. The evil soul masters of the Holy Spirit Church were far too strong.

And Beibei, as a person, was usually rational until Tang Ya was involved. The moment she was, he lost all concern for consequences, even disregarding his own life. While this was common in love stories, it was a serious problem in reality.

If Beibei died, the consequences would be catastrophic. Elder Mu En would likely go berserk before passing away. And the aftermath? That was uncertain. Would he direct his wrath toward the Holy Spirit Church or the Sun Moon Empire? That was the real question.

Mu En had already proven he was willing to risk everything for the sake of Shrek Academy. He had even infiltrated the Sun Moon Empire to investigate the power of their soul tools. If Beibei died, Mu En's vengeance could be disastrous.

"Brother Bei, have you considered that this might be the work of evil soul masters from the Douluo Continent?" Huo Yuhao asked. "I've heard that many of them are known for abducting people for their cultivation."

In truth, the Holy Spirit Church had an extensive intelligence network. Otherwise, Shrek Academy wouldn't have remained unaware of its existence for so many years. Huo Yuhao wanted Shrek Academy to start cutting off the Holy Spirit Church's "tentacles," but Beibei would have a hard time tracking them in the Sun Moon Empire. Recently, the Holy Spirit Church had been keeping a lower profile than before.

"I've considered that possibility," Beibei admitted. "But if evil soul masters really did take her, then there's little hope for her survival. I don't want to accept that she might already be gone. But if it turns out an evil soul master killed her then I swear, I will never share the same sky with them!" He downed a glass of wine, his eyes red with emotion, his hatred for evil soul masters burning deep within him.
