Chapter 62: So, Do You Mind Gambling Again? The Temptation of Martial Soul Evolution

After some playful banter, the atmosphere finally lightened up.

Looking at the two "injured" individuals before him, one big and one small, Guang Ling spoke, "Alright, now you two should focus on recovering. With me here, nothing will go wrong."

"By the way, Han Li, how long do you think it'll take for you to fully recover?"

"At least half a month, at the very least," Han Li answered uncertainly.

"Will your recovery affect your ability to absorb your third spirit ring? If so, let me know in advance what kind of spirit beast you're looking for. I can start searching around for you. We also have someone here who's quite active in this area he can help with recommendations."

As he spoke, Guang Ling shot a look at Dugu Bo, who nodded in agreement.

Han Li thought for a moment before replying, "To be safe, let's hold off for now. But as for spirit beasts, I'd appreciate it if you could start scouting ahead for me."

"My physical strength is comparable to that of a Spirit Emperor, and my spiritual power is on par with a non spirit type Spirit King. However, I haven't consumed the Perpetual Ice and Fiery Yang Dew yet. Once I do, it should be more than sufficient. So, the target age range for my spirit beast should be between fifteen thousand and twenty thousand years."

"As for the type, I'll stick to my original plan my first three spirit rings will focus on augmentation. I already have armor piercing capabilities, my elemental strength is strong enough, and even without my martial soul, I can already launch large scale attacks, so I don't need an area of effect ability. My preference is something that boosts my overall attributes, increases my attack range, or enhances my arrow speed."

"Considering the Ice Fire Divine Dragon Blades as well, it would be ideal if the spirit beast had abilities that benefited dual wielding like increasing attack speed or armor penetration. Oh, and if possible, I'd like it to be a flying type beast. Based on past experiences, I should be able to fully inherit its traits, hehehe."

As Han Li spoke, he couldn't help but chuckle awkwardly. His requests might have been a bit excessive he was actually feeling a little embarrassed.

Guang Ling and Dugu Bo, however, were not amused. Their faces darkened.

It wasn't that they couldn't handle the request. If it were just one specific ability, it would have been easy. But with all these conditions combined, they genuinely couldn't think of any spirit beast that would meet them all.

Guang Ling recalled the Golden Scaled Eagle, which the Spirit Hall had previously scouted for him. Back then, he hadn't paid much attention to the effort involved. But if Han Li had made such a request for his third ring, even with the entire Spirit Hall working on it, it would have been a nightmare.

Seeing their expressions, Han Li added, "If it's too difficult, we can go with a regular strength or speed type beast. I don't need everything to match perfectly. I don't rely too much on spirit skills right now anyway I can always refine my choices later."

Guang Ling took a deep breath, glanced at Dugu Bo who was deep in thought, seemingly questioning his life choices and sighed, "Don't worry about it. You're not absorbing the ring immediately, so we have time. Tomorrow, I'll return to Spirit Hall and mobilize our forces to search. I'll personally keep looking too. You just focus on recovering."

"Dugu Bo, you're coming with me. We'll also pick up some supplies while we're there."

Guang Ling suddenly turned to Dugu Bo with a tone that brooked no argument.

Dugu Bo, understanding that Guang Ling still didn't fully trust him, simply nodded. He could understand that. If their positions were reversed, he would have done the same. Besides, he had been planning to return anyway he had some matters to arrange and wanted to check on Qiu'er.

Since his master had already made a decision, Han Li didn't argue. Instead, he walked to the side, found a place to sit, and entered a meditative state. He needed to resolve the hidden dangers in his body and martial soul as soon as possible.

With that, the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well fell into silence. The three of them immersed themselves in their training two focused on restoring their bodies, while Guang Ling stabilized his breakthrough and familiarized himself with his newfound power.

The Next Morning

Using the excuse that they had eaten too much meat, Guang Ling sent Dugu Bo out to find some edible greens and fruits. Ignoring Dugu Bo's disdainful glare, Guang Ling turned his attention back to Han Li.

Once he was sure Dugu Bo had left, Guang Ling's face turned slightly red. He awkwardly rubbed his hands together, looking a little hesitant before finally speaking in a somewhat ingratiating tone.

"Han Li… about those two fire attribute immortal herbs… how do you plan to use them?"

The moment he heard that, Han Li instantly guessed what his master was thinking. He didn't bother hiding anything and simply replied, "Which one do you want, Master?"

"The Cockscomb Phoenix Sunflower is pure Yang energy it can't be consumed recklessly. Its primary function is purification and refinement. Any enhancement to fire attributes or soul power is merely a secondary effect."

"As for the Fiery Apricot Delicate Pepper, you already know its fire attribute is no weaker than the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass. While extremely potent, it's incredibly difficult for most soul masters to absorb directly."

"Then… the Fiery Apricot Delicate Pepper?" Guang Ling asked tentatively, his face heating up.

Adding up what he had taken so far, this would be his second top tier immortal herb. While both herbs had significant drawbacks, they were still incredibly valuable.

"Sure, Master. It's yours."

Han Li casually took out a jade box from his wristband. Inside was a fiery red vegetable that resembled a cabbage. He handed it over to Guang Ling and then asked, "Would you like me to prepare some auxiliary medicinal ingredients to aid absorption?"

Guang Ling dumbly accepted the box and instinctively responded, "Yes, yes, and while you're at it, prepare some for general body nourishment as well."

"Alright, please wait while I mix the ingredients. You can go rest."

Without asking for any further details, Han Li immediately dismissed Guang Ling, who had initially wanted to help.

Guang Ling didn't mind Han Li's attitude, but as he watched his disciple skillfully mix the medicine, he found himself lost in thought.

Something's off. Why isn't Han Li asking me why I need this?

Shouldn't he be curious?

If he asked, I'd tell him!

Wait… could it be that this brat already guessed? No, that's impossible! How could he know? Spirit Hall's records wouldn't have anything related to this…

…Tsk, does he think I have a lover outside?

As Han Li methodically followed the recorded formulas to prepare the medicine, he used his antennae to sense his master's shifting emotions. Internally, he couldn't help but laugh Guang Ling's expressions were just too amusing.

The reason he didn't ask was simple: he already knew. But he also didn't want to get involved, so it was best not to bring it up at all.

If his master wanted the herb, he would gladly hand it over. It was just a highly toxic plant, after all useless to him. Besides, even if someone like Qian Renxue got her hands on it, absorbing it successfully wasn't guaranteed.

If Guang Ling wanted to offer it to Qian Renxue, then so be it. Consider it protection money.

When he returned, he'd distribute some Earth Dragon Golden Melons a relatively common but still precious herb to the elders in the Hall of Consecration. Let each one have a share, and no one could accuse him of favoritism.

Other top grade herbs could also be distributed in small amounts but the immortal herbs were non negotiable. Those were his foundation.

As for Qingluan Elder? Unfortunately, there were no wind attribute immortal herbs here. But there were plenty of Nine Petal Purple Ganoderma high grade pseudo immortal herbs. That should be enough to help with a breakthrough.

Who says a person can only consume one immortal herb in a lifetime? What nonsense. As long as the herbs weren't in conflict, one could keep consuming them indefinitely. At worst, the effects would just be diminished.

If he hadn't already hit his temporary limit from the Ice Fire Baptism, he'd have eaten a few more just for fun.

Thinking about it, Han Li's mood brightened, and he began mixing the medicine at a quicker pace leaving Guang Ling even more confused.
