Chapter 295 - Chapter 295: The Next Generation

Ziji pushed at Bibi Dong's shoulder aggressively, her pretty face full of mockery.

"What do you mean 'joined our family'?"

"Our family doesn't want you meddling in it! Even if you're the Pope of the Spirit Hall, even if you became a god—why do you keep trying to squeeze into our lives?"

"If you try anything again, don't blame me for being rude!"

Ziji shoved Bibi Dong back two or three meters.

At first, Bibi Dong appeared delicate and submissive.

But when Dan Heng didn't react, she stopped retreating.

Once she stood her ground, Ziji couldn't push her anymore—no matter how hard she tried.

Her face filled with confusion.

"You… what's going on with you?" Ziji asked, bewildered.

Bibi Dong looked toward Dan Heng and said softly:

"Mr. Dan Heng, I really don't know my past. But I feel like… it must be something too painful to remember. I want to be with you… with all of you. That's what makes me happiest."

"If I'm really sent back to Spirit Hall, then you're pushing me toward death."

"Please, I beg you… let me stay…"

As she spoke, tears rolled down her face, like blossoms of pear flowers in the rain.

She bent her knees, seemingly about to kneel before Dan Heng.

Ziji immediately stepped in front of her with a wicked smile, blocking her.

Not letting Bibi Dong succeed.

Dan Heng watched Bibi Dong's performance and frowned slightly.

Rather than feel pity, her behavior only made him feel repelled and suspicious.

If he really let her stay in the household, there'd probably never be peace again.

"No need to say more. Whether your past memories are good or bad, they still have value. Be yourself—don't force anything."

Dan Heng offered a word of advice.

Ziji snickered.

"Let me translate for my dear brother-in-law—he's saying a toad like you better stop dreaming about eating swan meat! Get lost, as far away as possible!"

"…"

Dan Heng gave Ziji a helpless look.

Suddenly, a powerful sensation erupted in his heart.

A feeling he had never experienced before—restless, anxious, excited, worried… for a moment, he was frozen in place.

The next second, he reacted.

His figure vanished in a flash.

"Mr. Dan Heng…!"

Bibi Dong stood up hastily, disappointment on her face.

Ziji turned her head and, seeing Dan Heng gone, blinked.

"Brother-in-law suddenly ran off?"

"I know! He must've been annoyed to death by you! Leave now! Stop coming to our house—we don't welcome you!"

Ziji pointed at Bibi Dong again, sneering with every word.

Bibi Dong wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. The sadness on her face disappeared instantly, and her weak demeanor vanished. She stared coldly at Ziji.

"If you dare insult me again, I will kill you."

As she spoke, divine might erupted from her body.

Like a tidal wave crashing down, it startled Ziji into stumbling several steps back, shock and disbelief on her face.

"How could Bibi Dong be this powerful?Wasn't she just acting like a fragile little white flower a second ago?!"

"You… what's going on? Did you recover your memories already?" Ziji gritted her teeth.

Bibi Dong coldly snorted.

"Of course not. But I've recovered my strength! I'm now at god level! And you? You're just a soul beast. If you dare disrespect a god…"

"!!!"

Ziji's face turned pale, a trace of fear appearing.

She felt like Bibi Dong had become her natural enemy—and she, like a pitiful creature caught in a spider's web.

"In any case, you're not coming to our house!"

With a shout, Ziji turned into a beam of purple light and fled at full speed.

Back at the residence.

Dan Heng appeared instantly in the courtyard.

Biji was just about to head out. Upon seeing Dan Heng, she exhaled in relief, her pretty face tense with urgency:

"Sister… sister is about to give birth!"

"!!!"

Dan Heng's mind went completely blank.

His previously calm and composed state shattered instantly.

Even though he had envisioned this day countless times…

Now that it was truly happening, he couldn't stay calm.

He clutched his chest—his wildly beating heart reminded him that this wasn't a dream. This was real.

No wonder he'd felt that intense sensation moments ago…

So that was it…

Dan Heng immediately turned to rush into the room.

"Wait, brother-in-law! Don't go in!" Biji hastily pulled at Dan Heng.

But his strength was too great—Biji was dragged over a full meter along the ground.

Dan Heng looked at her, confused.

"Why?"

"Brother-in-law, just wait outside. Don't go in. Sister will be fine—I'm right beside her…"

Biji tried her best to stop him.

Not to mention that Gu Yuena was the God-King of Elemental Control—

Especially with spatial elements—she could probably teleport the child right out of her womb.

There was no real danger.

More importantly, childbirth being seen by a man might leave a bad psychological impact.

Dan Heng didn't care about that, frowning.

"I feel more reassured staying close so I can care for them…"

At this moment, he acted a bit "rough," trying to force his way in.

"Husband… don't come in…"

Gu Yuena's voice echoed from within the room.

It carried a slight tremble, but wasn't weak.

"Alright…" Dan Heng hesitated, then agreed. Naturally, he respected Gu Yuena's wishes.

He pulled out a leaf from the Tree of Life and handed it to Biji.

"Give this to your sister—it's a powerful restorative."

Dan Heng instructed.

Biji accepted the green leaf and immediately felt a surge of pure life energy.

In that moment, the leaf glowed faintly.

Even Biji, a soul beast specialized in healing, felt utterly inferior to that leaf.

She quickly reacted and ran into the room.

"Got it…!"

Bang—!

The door shut.

The courtyard was now empty—only Dan Heng remained.

Inside that room, his wife was giving birth—the crystallization of their love.

Even knowing there was no danger, Dan Heng's heart still pounded wildly. His mind was filled with all kinds of irrational worries.

He unconsciously began pacing in front of the door.

He heightened his spiritual senses to the maximum, monitoring Gu Yuena's life signals.

He didn't know how long he walked—maybe it felt like a century.

But he still didn't hear the child's cry—only Gu Yuena's labored breathing.

He clenched his fists.

For the first time, he felt his own powerlessness.

Suddenly.

He turned to face the south.

A flicker of doubt and suspicion appeared in his eyes.

In that distant part of the world… it was as if some will had awakened.

It wasn't a lifeform—but rather, the will of the entire plane!

"Why has the will of the Douluo Dalu plane awakened?" Dan Heng instantly identified the source. A long spear appeared in his hand.

He had to prepare for the worst.

If this world tried to oppose him and prevent the birth of his child…

He wouldn't hesitate for a second—to destroy the will of the world!

At the same time, another source of pure, flourishing life energy was rapidly forming.

In the Sea God's Tower.

A few gods were blocking the path of the Sea God Poseidon.

They were all fragments of their divine consciousness. Though they remained in Douluo Dalu, they couldn't return to the God Realm—and weren't particularly strong.

Poseidon looked at the other gods and shrugged.

"Why are you blocking me? Don't tell me you expect me to go clean up that spacetime black hole?"

As he spoke, Poseidon couldn't help but sigh internally.

"Dan Heng is really something else…"

He had carved a path no one expected—protecting those soul beasts…

And never revealing his true hand.

Yet that one terrifying move had caused the God Realm itself to shake on the verge of collapse!

For the next few decades, the gods would probably have to keep resisting to avoid being devoured by the spacetime rift.

They wouldn't have time to bother with Douluo Dalu's affairs.

"Sea God, those soul beasts are still alive. We need your power. Isn't it time you passed on your godhood to someone else? That way, you'd no longer be bound by the laws of the Divine Realm…"

"The Divine Realm is in crisis. It might be connected to the Douluo Plane. If you stay here, you might get to the bottom of it…"

"Sea God, your true body is here, unlike the rest of us. Shouldn't you take on your divine responsibility?"

"..."

The gods spoke one after another, all trying to persuade the Sea God, Poseidon.

Poseidon sat cross-legged on the bed, tilting his head, picking at his ear—a completely uncooperative expression on his face.

He had finally escaped the Divine Realm, and had no desire to get tangled up in its affairs again.

And now? What was threatening the Divine Realm?

The Silver Dragon King!

And not just any Silver Dragon King—she was now Dan Heng's lover.

Dan Heng had already created a spacetime black hole just to protect a bunch of soul beasts who weren't even gods yet.

If the Silver Dragon King were to lead those soul beasts in an assault on the Divine Realm in the future…

What would Dan Heng choose?

Even in the worst-case scenario, could the gods actually harm Gu Yuena?

If they tried—they'd be doomed for eternity.

"Sea God, are you scared of danger? Is that why you don't dare take responsibility?"

The Fire God deliberately goaded him.

Poseidon nodded solemnly, "Exactly. I'm scared of danger, so I want to run. I'll travel the worlds beyond the Divine Realm from now on. Don't even think about finding me again!"

"..."

The gods looked visibly annoyed.

They believed Poseidon was just shirking responsibility and full of excuses.

Afraid of danger?

With his true body on the Douluo Continent, what enemy could possibly hurt him?

Even their fragments of divine will were still invincible within Douluo.

Suddenly—

Their expressions changed drastically.

They all sensed a massive shift in the Douluo Plane!

"What's happening?"

"It shouldn't be the spacetime black hole's influence. The Douluo Plane has a solid form and high resistance to spacetime anomalies."

"Wait—it feels like… the will of the plane!"

"..."

The gods exchanged glances and immediately shot upward, leaving the Sea God's Tower behind.

Scene Shift

The gods hovered in the skies above the Sea God's Tower.

They looked southward, their expressions grave.

"Two forces—both immensely powerful—are approaching! Why is the plane's will descending?"

"Could someone have earned the recognition of the Douluo Plane?"

"We absolutely must not ignore this. The Douluo Plane is nearly outside the Divine Realm's control. We have to stop this from happening!"

"..."

The gods made their decision at once.

Poseidon furrowed his brow and made a calculation—then a guess suddenly popped into his head.

He shouted urgently:

"Don't interfere! Pretend you didn't see anything!"

"Are you kidding?!"

"Sea God, you really have become a coward! If you're scared, then stay out of it!"

The gods ignored him and headed straight toward the approaching plane's will.

Poseidon sighed as he watched them leave.

The other gods were mere spiritual projections, not their full selves. They couldn't see things as clearly as he could.

Those two incoming forces—they weren't just divine intent.

They felt like actual god positions seeking a new master.

The gods wanted to stop this. But wasn't that just getting in someone's way?

Poseidon rose into the air and shouted:

"Stop! Fine, I agree! I'll stay and guard Douluo Continent like you wanted!"

But the gods didn't respond—they continued flying toward the will.

They didn't believe there was any danger.

They simply didn't want the plane's will to fall into someone else's hands.

If it did, then the entire Douluo Plane might fall under the dominion of an unknown force—

Or even break free of the Divine Realm altogether.

"Sea God! Come with us!"

Poseidon clenched his teeth, spun around, and raced toward Heaven Dou City.

In the blink of an eye, he arrived in the skies above.

Just as he was about to head to Dan Heng's home—

A green flash streaked past his shoulder.

A powerful sense of danger flared up—

"No—!!!"

Poseidon turned his head to see that green light chasing down the gods.

A massive light burst followed.

The gods' divine presences vanished instantly—without a trace.

The plane's will passed through unimpeded and descended into the courtyard.

Poseidon's face shifted.

Just as he suspected—this was all related to Dan Heng!

Even though he had wanted to wash his hands of it all and escape…

He couldn't bring himself to fully let go.

He descended into the courtyard.

Dan Heng had just withdrawn his hand, having obliterated the divine projections of the gods.

He didn't destroy their divine essence—but he cut off their connections instantly.

Poseidon looked at him with helpless resignation.

"Dan Heng, you…"

He didn't even know what to say anymore.

"What's going on? Your child's about to be born?"

Dan Heng nodded slightly. "Yes."

He had sensed the plane's will approaching. It was a good thing.

But the gods tried to interfere.

And if they remained in Douluo, they'd eventually cause problems anyway.

So—he simply sent them 'back.'

At that moment, the plane's will spun a few times in the sky and suddenly descended into the room.

Dan Heng and Poseidon looked up at the sky together.

"Congratulations, Dan Heng. Your child was born as the master of the Douluo Plane. That's the legendary center of the divine court itself," Poseidon said with a trace of envy.

Plane master—while not an official godhood—came with tremendous real-world power.

Most importantly, the more recognition one got from a plane, the more that person became the sole true god of that world.

If the plane master wished it, they could completely block the arrival of other gods!

Now, the plane's will had chosen Dan Heng's child.

"Waaah—!!"

A loud cry rang out.

Dan Heng's face lit up with joy.

His child was born!

Poseidon also smiled. "Congratulations—"

He hadn't finished speaking—

When another pure wave of life force descended from the sky and entered the room as well.

"Waaah—!!"

A second, softer cry rang out.

A second child!

This time—it was a girl.

Twins!
