Chapter 174 - chapter 173

"keep it there, right there you've created a new move. A blast of concentrated milling intent, it could scare an opponent or just make them fault for a moment."

Hamar's hand shook as he strained to constrain the mental energy from bursting, the intention seeming to cause the mental energy to change.

It was tinged black and the surface was spiking and moving jittery. Master Sheng held his hounds out,

"Throw it towards me, I can take whatever you throw better for it to hit me than explode here."

Hamar slightly nodded then took a break before moving his hands. He carefully maintained the orb of energy while moving it backwards to the side of his head.

Hamar looked up, "here." He threw the ball, pushing his arm forwards with a lurch. He used aura just to move his body while his muscles were constrained. The ball left his finger tip and lurched out.

But he didn't stop controlling it, if he stopped as soon as it left his body it would've exploded so while it flew through the air he kept it maintained.

The ball shot forward with a fast speed but as it went further away from Hamar it became less maintained. It went from a fairly spherical ball into a massive constantly changing mass of energy.

Sometimes a spike, sometimes a blob, sometimes a hand. It was constantly changing forms, somewhat influenced by Hamar's thoughts when filling it with intention.

Though there was one main form, a blade. Hamar was a swordsman and so the prevailing way he created the deathly intent was 'with the sword'.

The mental image of swinging a sword, taking a life. That was good main image and so once the orb was not maintained, it took that form of a sword.

While Hamar threw the orb directly towards Master Sheng once he let go of control, it changed course. It flew into the air and spun in a circle.

While spinning the form split into multiple portions which took the shape of a sword. Then they suddenly stopped and shot towards each person in the room, even Hamar himself.

Master Sheng's finger twitched but then he held it back and watched on. Before people could react the swords shot into them and dissipated. Everyone flinched and their orbs broke, releasing a wave of killing intent into the room.

Each person felt the killing intent and had differing levels of effectiveness. To Master Sheng it was nothing and do not affect him at all. Similarly, Jin was prepared and shrugged the attack of.

However Hamar, Hou, Lan Qiang and Tianmo weren't so lucky. Hamar felt his neck tingle and his body gained goosebumps. He felt the danger that was inherent in a fight, like somebody was duelling him.

The sword pierced Hou's body but instead of feeling the danger of killing intent he gained that portion of mental energy and intention. Even the killing intent released from everyone's orbs breaking didn't do anything to him. He winced but did not feel any pain,

'I absorbed the mental energy... Is this an effect of the Celestial Law Amplifying Physique? Can it absorb mental energy... but shouldn't this mean I should be able to turn QI into my mental energy? I'll need to figure this out later, as well as another thing I've thought of from Master Sheng's lesson'

Hou feigned some pain in his head and touched his head before opening his eyes again, thinking to himself,

'Though I should keep that it didn't effect me a secret for now.'

Tianmo and Lan Qiang both had similar experiences they felt pain at the point of impact but then they just had a strong sensation of being in battle. It felt like the climactic moment of a fight.

They looked around, protecting themselves in case of threats but no extreme effects.

Master Sheng clapped which broke everyone's confusion, "calm down everyone and sit back down."

The class looked at each other before sitting back down despite the racing hearts. Master Sheng continued,

"What you all felt was that concentrated killing intent. Luckily it was quite weak when separated between everyone but even now you could tell the uses. Just that slight disturbance caused you all to lose control of your own orbs, did it not?"

Master Sheng gestured towards Hamar,

"Excellent attempt, keep refining it. You could easily create the killing intent and I could tell from the form it made it was fairly consistent. The improvement is controlling it so it does not backfire onto you, but that was my fault for not giving a target."

Master Sheng then turned to the rest of the class,

"And you all did well too. I saw small amounts of intent from most of you. And the way you all dealt with the intent was quite well handled, especially Jin and Hu Li"

Hou, Hu Li, smiled slightly but averted his eyes,

'If only he knew it was only because of my physique. It was all my fortuitous encounter, none of my skill...'

Master Sheng shook his head, "but I think that's all for today. I will give you all a piece of homework. By next week I want to see you all make a small stable ball of intent. It should stay stable until crushed or otherwise activated and release an intent."

Hou stood up and met up with Hamar while everyone else left to their own rooms and duties,

"Hey Hei Feng! You wanna come to my room?" Hou winked slightly towards Hamar indicating it was some thing for Hamar and not 'Hei Feng'

Hamar nodded and the two left the room. They met up in Hou's room and before they talked Hou threw out a disc.

He clicked a button on the disk and a dome of purple miasma formed around the room. It covered every surface and shimmered before letting out a ting.

"Good thing Mo Huai gave us this tool so we can talk privately, Hamar I have an idea. I got the idea when watching Master Sheng. It might help you with mental energy control and also allow you to hide your inability to hold QI."

"Oh, how so?"

Hou drew a character on the ground, made up of chaotic lines,

"I have my ways, I want to create a core which holds mental energy for you letting you hold more than you can normally contain. Then you can just use that stored mental energy rather than QI when you need to."

"Hmm, let me actually tell you what I've been thinking. What if I somehow create a 'law' for mana and aura. There are no aura laws that I can tell but if they're made then shouldn't that make me a 'cultivator'!?"
