"No wonder it needed reconstruction. How is this still a throne? This is practically a VIP exclusive lazy sofa!"
'Heh, mother dragon, you've slacked off!'
'As a workaholic, how can you use such a comfortable workstation?'
'I suggest moving the throne to my bedroom. You can just get yourself a little stool to sit on.'
Leon kept changing positions on the throne.
Lying sideways, lying straight, feet in the air, flipping like a carp, hanging upside down like a hook, standing like a golden rooster...
"Damn, awesome!"
Even the well-experienced General Leon couldn't help but give such praise.
This throne could support so many resting postures. It looked like the mother dragon really put a lot of thought into it.
But after enjoying it for a while, Leon suddenly realized a problem.
"Tch... Something's not right. Judging by her personality, she wouldn't rebuild such a good throne for no reason. She's not into consumerism," Leon touched the throne's armrest, unable to figure out why Rossweise would go out of her way to renovate it.
And although it's still called a 'throne', what kind of Dragon King's throne is this spacious?
So spacious that Leon could perform a full set of military calisthenics on it.
"I'll just ask her when she gets back. If it's really extravagant waste, I'll have to give her a proper lecture," Leon sat on the throne and waited slowly.
He didn't know how much time passed. Outside, the bonfire went out, and the noise gradually faded.
Leon also started to feel a little drowsy.
In a daze, he heard the crisp sound of high heels clacking on the ground from behind the throne.
Without looking, just by hearing the rhythm of the footsteps, Leon knew who had returned.
"Little lion~ My little lion~ Are you here?", She was humming some unknown tune and rambling nonsense, clearly drunk.
Leon stared forward, rolling his eyes in silence, not intending to greet her.
'Coming home this late drunk, does she even remember this is her home?'
It wasn't until the faint scent of wine entered Leon's nose that he looked up at her.
Rossweise's face was slightly flushed, her gaze blurry, a silly smile on her face, and she was holding a half-full bottle of red wine.
"Good morning!", Rossweise greeted him.
"How much did you drink..."
Rossweise hummed for a bit, as if trying to recall.
Finally, she raised two fingers.
"Just two bottles and you're like this? If you can't handle it, don't drink."
"Two cases."
"..."
Leon silently gave a thumbs up.
Rossweise squinted and smiled, then casually sat right on Leon's lap.
She wasn't one of those eighty-pound petite girls. Her Majesty the Queen had flesh where it should be, and was very healthy. When she sat on Leon's lap, he could clearly feel her weight.
"You really don't treat me like an outsider, huh."
Though Leon was complaining, he still carefully held her waist to prevent the drunken her from toppling over, "This is the sanctuary. What if someone sees us?"
"No worries. No one will see."
Rossweise said, "I gave them all the night off. Tonight, the entire sanctuary hall is just us two."
Leon sighed, "So, why did you want me to wait here? Don't tell me you just got too drunk and couldn't find your way back to the bedroom, so you need me to carry you?"
"Of course not. I still remember the way back," Rossweise proudly puffed up her chest.
Leon was skeptical, "Then what floor is our bedroom on?"
"Emmmm... the third floor!", Rossweise held up five fingers.
"It's the fourth floor."
"Ahh! I was going to say fourth floor too! Mm, fourth floor!", She lowered two fingers, leaving three.
'That's obviously nonsense!'
Leon slapped his own face.
'Great.'
'Hopeless.'
He held Rossweise's hand down, sat up straight, leaned in close to her, face to face, "Put down the wine. Let's go back to sleep."
"No."
"Why not? You're drunk."
"It's rare that we have the place to ourselves. Sleeping early would ruin the mood, wouldn't it?"
Leon snorted, "What mood is there between us to ruin? Go back to sleep."
"No, I won't!"
Rossweise clung to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and her tail around his leg.
The beauty's breath lightly brushed the tip of Leon's nose, warm and tinged with red wine.
He had to admit, a tipsy Rossweise had even more charm than usual.
That blush on her face was like something from a night of wild passion, seductive and bewitching. Just one glance was enough to make Leon's heart itch.
Leon couldn't win against her and had no choice but to wait until she sobered up a bit to take her back.
She sat on Leon's lap like a duck, the softness of her chest pressing against his, leaning in so close, yet it felt like she was teasingly keeping a distance.
Her red lips grazed lightly against the corner of Leon's mouth. She knew full well that if she kissed him now, he wouldn't resist.
But she deliberately held back, teasing him.
Letting the fire in both their hearts burn even hotter.
"How was my speech today?", Rossweise asked.
"Honestly?"
"Of course."
"Too! Damn! Mushy!", Leon was brutally honest, "Goosebumps all over the floor."
"How was it mushy? Didn't you see how supportive my people were of us?"
Rossweise said, "That proves our usual act is already deeply rooted. Everyone thinks we're that loving. I just used that to promote the viviparous revival plan. Hmph, idiot, you don't understand anything."
Leon's heart moved slightly and he held her waist tighter, then asked,
"Then, those things you said in your speech... were they all from the heart?", Rossweise raised her elegant eyebrows,
"What do you think? Of course not."
She leaned down, gently resting on Leon's shoulder, fiddling with his earlobe with her fingers, and said slowly, "It was all to make everyone believe in love. Of course I had to make it touching. You didn't... take it seriously, did you?"
"Mm, I did. Will you take responsibility?"
Hearing that, Rossweise suddenly sat up, surprise and joy flashing across her tipsy face, then she hummed and said, "Then you're screwed. I'm not taking responsibility. I said it was all fake. If you believed it, that's your problem, not mine."
"Is that so, Rossweise?"
The hand holding her waist slowly moved to the base of her tail, and Leon gently caressed it with his fingertips.
Rossweise's body softened, but her mouth stayed tough, "O-of course! I don't love you at all... not at all."
She leaned against Leon's chest, her fingers unconsciously gripping his shirt tightly.
Rossweise bit her lower lip, the alcohol wreaking havoc on her brain, and a strong, inexplicable sense of 'unwillingness' surged up.
Finally, she grabbed Leon's collar, suddenly sat up, looked into his eyes, and righteously denied what she just said,
"I like you! Everything I said today was true! I've fallen in love! I'm doomed! So what!"
Leon had long guessed that the little mother dragon was being stubborn here. And with the alcohol, it was only a matter of time before the truth came out, so he wasn't anxious earlier at all.
"What are you laughing at, huh? I'm telling you, I'm only saying this because I'm drunk."
"By tomorrow morning, once I'm sober, I'll deny everything, got it?"
"Say something!"
She coquettishly pushed Leon's shoulder.
Leon continued to smile calmly.
He slowly sat up too, one hand still gently stroking the base of her tail, the other slowly wrapping around her smooth, delicate back,
"Say a bit more, Melkvei."
"I don't want to."
"Didn't you say? Since you're drunk now, nothing counts. You'll deny it all tomorrow anyway. So saying a bit more won't matter, right?"
Coaxing a drunk dragon girl was as easy as coaxing a child.
Coincidentally, General Leon was a master at babysitting.
Rossweise was indeed tempted.
She turned her eyes away, her face red as a tomato, and whispered like a mosquito, "Then what do you want to hear?"
"Say you want to be with me for the rest of your life."
Rossweise pouted, "No... ah~ don't pinch my tail, you jerk..."
She halfheartedly pushed Leon's hand, but her tail was still firmly in his grip.
"Say it, you want, to be with me, for life," Leon pressed on.
The blush spread to the queen's ears.
She pursed her lips, wanting to speak but too shy to open her mouth.
Saying "for life"... even drunk, it was too embarrassing to say.
'Damn man, only knows how to take advantage when I am weak.'
"I want... I want to be with you... for life!"
After saying that, Rossweise buried her head in Leon's neck like she was hiding from someone.
She curled her toes tight, even the tip of her tail curled up. Finally understanding the secondhand embarrassment that had made Leon's whole body break out in goosebumps during her speech earlier.
It wasn't until she heard Leon's laughter that Rossweise raised her head, then nudged his chest, "Happy now?"
"Very happy."
"Enjoy it while you can, Leon. Tomorrow I won't admit to anything."
Leon slowly caressed her flushed face, then leaned toward her neck, gently cupping it, inch by inch pulling her closer.
Looking into those charming, blurry silver eyes, he whispered, "Then let tomorrow come a little later, Melkwei."
