EIGHT MONTHS AGO
"Let me go!" Chloe's scream ripped through the woods, ragged and panicked. Rain lashed against her skin, soaking her dress, her hair clinging to her cheeks as she fought like hell against Sebastian's grip.
"You're not going in there!" Sebastian shouted over the thunder, dragging her back from the house that was already roaring with flames.
"Sebastian!" she cried. "That's Damien in there! That's your brother."
"And if you go in there too, I'm burying both of you! And that's not happening." He groaned.
Another loud boom cut through the thunderous clouds.
A fresh explosion tore through the front of the mansion, glass shattering and hurling into the wind like glittering shrapnel. Chloe turned in horror, the scream that tore from her chest was pure, unfiltered grief.
"DAMIEN!"
