Chapter 12 - Keen senses

"Are you ready?" Fortune teller Baba asked me.

"...." I was a bit stunned.

I can hear someone's breath despite being the only one in the arena.

"My opponent is already here, isn't he?" I asked.

"Oh? You could tell." She said in amusement.

"You are right. Now you will be facing off against the Invisible Man." She replied.

I frowned.

"Begins the battle." She said.

"Fu fu fu. Here I come," a voice was heard.

Knowing that tracking down my opponent is going to be hard, I knew I had to take this chance.

So I rushed towards the place where the voice was heard and threw a punch at him.

"You missed." The voice said as he kicked me in the gut.

Followed by two punches to the face.

But luckily, I was able to pinpoint his exact location after eating two of his punches and sweeping his legs, causing him to fall.

"Oh. You are listening to the sounds that he made to pinpoint his location." She said with genuine amazement.

"Then how will you deal with this?" She said as she started singing.

"I am a fortune teller, Baba. Super cute fortune teller Baba. I will listen to all your requests."

Her voice makes it hard for me to locate the invisible man using the sounds that he made.

But it does not mean that it is entirely useless.

Because fortune teller Baba was covering for one of his weaknesses, the invisible man started to become much bolder.

He started to make more noise, which was harder to listen to because of Baba's loud singing, but it was still listenable.

His attacks began to miss more, and he was unable to land a hit that would knock me out.

And he also started to expose his location by making big movements, which created small dust clouds.

Finally starting to run out of patience, he went in for a huge attack.

He was invisible, so I could not tell what the attack was that he was going for.

But the dust cloud that he created made it possible to predict where the attack was going to be as long as I could guess whether it was a punch, kick or other kind of attack.

I expected a punch as I hurt his legs not very long ago with my leg sweep.

So I moved my upper body a bit towards the left and raised my right leg, which went in for a swift kick.

It paid off as I was able to dodge the attack, and I was even able to launch a counterattack after dodging his attack as my kick landed.

"Ahhhh." The invisible man shouted as my leg seemed to hit him in some kind of of vanurable area.

I was not sure whether it was the area near the heart, stomach or his private area, as he was still invisible and I could not see his physical appearance.

And the only reason why I was able to land an attack was because I was able to figure out his approximate location and luck.

"Haahhh. Even though I tried to help him." Fortune teller Baba sighed.

"Stop. Stop. I give up." The invisible man said.

"Is that enough?" I asked Fortune teller Baba.

If I could see him I would have grabbed him and throws him into water but I was unable to see him, so I gave up on the idea.

"It is enough." She said.

"Invisible- get down from the stage," she followed up.

"Can you help me get down? His attack hit my..... And I have trouble walking." He said.

I could guess where my kick landed after hearing his words.

"... Go and help him get down." Fortune teller Baba said as the Pink Ghost appeared with a stretcher and an extra helper, as he helped the invisible man get down.

I wanted to ask her how those ghosts could see him, but I didn't, as she would probably refuse to answer my real question after answering that simple question.

She saw my expression and figured out what I was thinking.

"Those are my helpers. They don't possess ki, but they still have basic magic abilities to assist me in my work. Don't worry, this question is on me, you will still get your reward," she said to me.

"If I manage to study under Tao Pai Pai, will I die?" I asked her.

"Yes. As long as you become his student, you will die one way or another." She said.

She seems to have more to say, but she stopped.

It seems that my fate would not be just death if I studied under Tao Pai Pai.

Then a question popped into my mind. If that possible future would have anything to do with the Red Ribbon Army itself or Son Goku, the man who will destroy the Red Ribbon army.

No matter what the answer is, those two forces are not possible for me to defeat.

"Sent in another one." I knew if I wanted to escape my fate, I needed everything that I could get my hands on.

Even if that destroys the opportunities of others.

"Then follow me. The next fighter is waiting for you." She said as she leads me to a building built of yellow bricks.

"You are strong." The Pink Ghost said to me.

"But I suggest you give up after the next fight. Because there is no way you would be able to defeat the fourth warrior." He suggested.

She has five warriors.

But I only remember two of her warriors. The Devil-man, the one who can cause harm to those with an evil heart and the guest fighter from another world.

That means the fourth warrior must be the devil-man. I thought in my mind.

"We are here," Baba said as we arrived at a platform.

In front of it, two giant demon statues were located.

Both of them were fanning each other, sticking out their tongues, but their tongues were not touching.

And below them, a huge pit of green liquid was located that seemed to be producing small bubbles like a pot that had reached its boiling point.

"Is that?" I prepared to ask Fortune teller Baba about the green liquid.

But I stopped immediately after realising that I should not ask her questions that won't benefit me until I have already gotten the answers that I needed.

Especially a stupid question that has an obvious answer like this. It's only natural that the green liquid is poisonousus or at least harmful to the body.
