Kanah exhaled, then took a deep breath, raising his head. In a blink of an eye, Kanah struck the snake in the throat, tackling it to the sea. The snake moved around violently, trying to shake him off.
Its left most heads moved towards Kanah, as he clung to its scale. Kanah looked at the head and pushed himself off the snake. Landing back on the shore as the snake looked at him.
The snake opened all five of its mouth, as if it was screaming. Kanah frowned at its action. He raised his head with a slight open mouth. "Can you talk?"
His Mana enhanced voice traveled to the snake as it opened its mouths again and began channeling the Mana from all mouths to its central mouth.
Kanah's eyes widened as he gulped, before the right side of his lips turned into a smile. "I guess you believe in talking through actions. Well so do I!"
Kanah raised his left hand and brought it down striking his right hand, as the two hands collided and exchanged their position a bow of Mana was drawn up.
He then took hold of the bow with his left hand and pulled the mana string back to and past his right shoulder. A blue arrow made entirely of Mana.
The moment the snake fired the sphere, Kanah let go of the arrow standing still. The arrow collided with the sphere and expanded engulfing it, the sphere exploded, but the blast was contained by the arrow.
The snake rushed at Kanah, he opened his arms wide and threw the bow away as it vanished in the air, before bringing his fists in, slamming both hands together, engulfing them in a bright blue construct. He then cocked his right fist back and leapt towards the snake, striking him with an upper cut, knocking it back.
The shockwave pushed him back towards the shore. He rolled on the ground before jumping back, retreating away from the shore. Shin landed beside Kanah and looked at him from the corner of his eyes. "What rank are you? To go toe to toe with a Mythical Beast" "I am on the brink of being a Great Master."
"Pardon my language, but how the fuck are you at that threshold? I mean you are only nineteen years old and you do not possess a Primordial Force."
Kanah shook his head. "I spent the last fourteen years, training under one of the best warriors in the world." The snake began to get back up as Shin rolled his eyes.
"This is getting repetitive." Kanah turned towards Shin. "What do you mean?" Shin gestured towards the snake. "We knock it down, it gets back up"
"What else are you expecting? We let it roll through the city?"
Shin looked back at the destroyed western harbor. "I mean, a third of the city is gone. I doubt it could get worse."
Kanah chuckled before he looked down. As the ground beneath them was launched in the air. The ground fell apart as the snake looked at the two in the air and pulled its tail back before flicking it at them.
Kanah grabbed Shin by the collar and threw him over the tail and on the snake's body.
He then braced himself as he was flicked across the city and into the hills beyond the western side of the city.
Shin began running along the snake's body. 'It was not this fast when it first surfaced.' The snake moved its body around in an attempt to throw off Shin, but when it all failed.
The snake began banging his heads around Shin, in attempts to crush him. "Can't whack this mole." He then punched down on the snake making it stagger. The snake screamed charging up five spheres.
Shin pulled out his Katana, pointing it at the snake. "IF YOU DARE, unleash those blasts. I will lob off your heads."
The snake raised itself high up. Shin clenched his teeth preparing for the oncoming attack.
Until something struck the snake in the throat slamming it into the barrier on the eastern harbor, launching Shin in the air.
A few seconds earlier.
Kanah crashed in the hills as he dug his left hand in the soil, stopping himself. He then ran to the edge of the hills and looked back at the bay.
He heard the snake scream and saw it charging its attack. Kanah jumped down from the edge of a cliff and used Mana ropes to pull himself towards the cliff. He crouched and leaped off the cliff, blowing the hill away.
He flew through the air flipping himself in the air and dropped kick the snake in the throat, slamming it in the barrier. He then found himself falling through the air. Until he turned around facing the sea, when he was struck by the tail, once again.
Launching him high up in the atmosphere. Shin looked up at Kanah with an open mouth. "Damn." He then looked at the snake with great intensity, tightening the grip on his Katana.
The moment he landed in the sea, he stumbled back and brought his Katana over his left shoulder.
He infused the blade with Necroshade. Then looked up at Kanah. Who flipped himself up in the air and landed on a cloud. He blasted off the cloud clearing out the cloudy night from the shockwave of his movement. The snake rushed upwards towards Kanah.
Shin took this as his opportunity and swung his sword towards the snake. Cutting half of the neck of its left most head.
The snake shrieked in pain but kept advancing towards Kanah. Kanah just milliseconds before colliding with the central head fired a Mana blast from his left hand, slightly altering his course.
He landed on the left cheek of the central head and rolled on it before leaping towards its left most head.
He struck the head pushing it away and used the wound inflicted by Shin to nearly decapitate the head.
But the snake rolled its entire body to the left to reduce the impact. Kanah frowned slightly as he looked at the top of the snake's head.
'I see.' He then clapped his hands together creating a shockwave that pushed him down towards the sea.
He landed in the sea and began running towards Shin. As he watched Kanah running towards him, Shin also began running back towards the western harbor. The snake chased after them as its left head began regenerating.
Shin looked at it. "I am not tripping, it is getting faster and stronger." Kanah nodded. "Indeed, there is something wrong with this mythical beast, when it first appeared it was sluggish, it could not see the Mana barrier and now this."
They stepped on the shore and looked back at the snake. Kanah raised his hands creating five spheres of light in his hands.
He then threw them at the snake, exploding in its faces, temporarily blinding the snake. The snake began moving violently, slamming its heads in the water causing showers of sea water on the two.
Kanah looked at the ground before suddenly turning towards Shin. "When you were nearby the snake's central head, did you feel it too?"
Shin looked at the snake. "I don't think I do." Kanah pointed towards the snake's heads. "There is some kind of vibration and a frequency emitting from there. I can feel it. I believe someone is controlling the snake using those frequency. That explains its growing power. Why at the beginning we were significantly faster than it. Whoever is in control of it, is slowly gaining control of the beasts power."
Shin cracked his neck and knuckles. "So what do we do?" Kanah sighed. "I believe, I can nullify those frequencies. If I can stay on top of its head uninterrupted, I can emit counter frequencies."
He then looked at Shin, who chuckled. "I understand, I will make sure you are uninterrupted."
Shin then leaned towards Kanah. "Mind telling me how you will emit those counter frequencies." Kanah laughed shaking his head. "No." He then turned to the left and slammed his foot on the ground creating a Mana barrier behind them.
The Mana barrier connected to the northern barrier and the eastern and western barrier connected on their own. Then the top of the Mana barriers joined forming a ceiling of Mana.
Shin placed a hand on the barrier, as it glowed from his touch. "So, you are trapping us in a cage with this beast. How much playing field do we get?" Kanah squinted his eyes as he observed the snake. "A cube with a fifty-four kilometer sides. I made the barrier incredibly tall, to prevent the snake from climbing over."
Shin grinned resting his Katana on his shoulder. "This should be fun." Kanah nodded. "We can save this city if we free the beast. Are you ready?" Shin stood to Kanah's left placing a hand on his shoulder. "Always."
They ran forward splitting up as Kanah went to the left and Shin ran to the right, emitting large amount of Necroshade, making the snake turn its heads towards him.
Kanah, used this opportunity and leaped towards the northern barrier, using it as a platform to jump towards the snake's right-most head.
The head quickly turned around and opened its mouth, before closing it and trapping Kanah inside.
"KANAH!" Shin yelled out as he stopped emitting the Necroshade and raised his sword ready to swing it. "YOU ARE DONE, YOU OVERGROWN WORM!" Until he felt his body unable to move, before being lifted in the air.
'Telekinesis! Oh Shit!'
He was then thrown towards the western barrier and dragged along it towards the eastern barrier and slammed into it head first.
'Fuck, I enhanced by body with Necroshade, or else I would have been turned to a fucking paste.'
He was then flung in the sea, being sent to the bottom. There the snake lifted its tail and slammed it in the sea. Shin free from the telekinesis, raised his arms in front of himself as the tail struck him.
Kanah on the other hand was laying in the snake's mouth, getting crushed under the muscle of its mouth. He placed his hands on the flesh and began to push on it. He managed to push it up to the point that he managed to get on his knees and then on his feet.
He looked around, his cat like pupil helped him see in the dark. He finally found the exit from this place as he could see the outside nearly a kilometer away from him.
Kanah took a deep breath from the nose and slowly squatted down, still lifting the mouth. He then stood up throwing the upper muscles slightly up and dashed out of the mouth at full speed.
Once he was out, he turned around in the air as the snake's mouth closed shut. The snake blinked looking at Kanah before rushing forward, attempting to swallow him once more. Kanah felt himself being levitated in the air and quickly reached towards the snake.
He then swung his arm to the left and the snake was pulled and slammed in the barrier, as it formed its first crack. Kanah frowned, dragging the snake along the northern barrier, before throwing it to southern barrier and letting it fall in the sea.
As the snake's telekinesis weakened, Kanah fell down landing in the sea. He looked around and found no signs of Shin. "SHIN! WHERE ARE YOU?"
He then looked towards the southern end of the cube as a tornado of fire rose from the sea nearly burning through the snake's central heads. Kanah himself was pulled towards the tornado as the sea began to swirl creating a whirlpool. The snake backed away from the tornado and slammed its back in the eastern barrier further cracking it.
The tornado reached several kilometers in height and diameter before stopping. Kanah looked at the whirlpool that had formed in the sea. Before long the water around the whirlpool began to freeze. Kanah began running towards the whirlpool.
He jumped over the freezing edges as he looked down the eye of the whirlpool. At a depth of more than two kilometers on the sea bed was Shin, kneeling down using his katana as support while he threw up water.
Kanah looked back at the snake as it began to heal its head. He then looked back down holding his hand out to Shin. "GET UP!"
As the Mana enhances voice traveled down the whirlpool. Shin raised his head and gulped standing up. He clenched his teeth and began running up the inner side of the whirlpool reaching the top, within seconds, grabbing Kanah's hand.
Kanah pulled him up as Shin stood beside him. "I thought he ate you." Kanah nodded. "Wouldn't be the first time." He then chuckled as he pointed towards the inn. "My sister once thought a cow ate me."
Shin frowned as he looked at Kanah, who held onto Shin laughing. "Why would she think that?" Kanah shook his head. "Beats me. But the look on her face, oh One. You just had to be there."
Shin chuckled. "Sure sucks." He then exhaled as he looked up at the snake. "I am reaching my limits here. I have broken bones and one hell of a concussion." Kanah nodded. "As am I. These barriers and the amount of strength and speed I am using here. I will probably only last another minute or so."
"Let's finish this." Kanah hummed in response, raising his head. The two ran forward as the snake saw them approaching. It opened its mouth and fired mana spheres. Shin leapt up striking them with his katana, trapping them in barriers, just like Kanah had.
This allowed Kanah to run straight towards the Snake and he began running up its length. The two heads to the left looked at Kanah and opened their mouths, firing beams of lightning and ice at Kanah, who leaped from the snake onto the barrier.
On the other hand Shin was running around dodging Mana spheres being fired by the right-most head while being followed by fire breath from the 1st head to the right.
He looked up at Kanah and saw his predicament and so he flicked his finger at the snake's mouth, firing a bolt of lightning at the mana sphere in its mouth.
The sphere exploded, throwing the snake off balance, stopping all of its attack. Shin used this moment and leaped forward and struck the snake with a kick to the neck pushing it back onto the barrier.
The barrier cracked almost breaking. Kanah jumped off landing on the central head. He took a deep breath as he stood there, closing his eyes and brought his hands forward joining his palms.
Shin grinned as he looked at Kanah on top of the snake. He anxiously looked at Kanah. 'Do it.'
Kanah opened his eyes and began to dance. He moved swiftly and fluidly on his feet. A clear rhythm present through his body. His hands moved around as if telling a story through his actions.
His body began to glow with a white glow as he sped up with his dance. The snake began to violently move around. Shin was slapped away by the tail as it slammed him in the northern barrier, breaking through it and several kilometers in the city.
The entire cube fell apart as the snake tried to shake Kanah off his head. But it had no effect on Kanah as he kept dancing with a smile on his face. In a final attempt to stop Kanah the snake tried to slam its tail on top of its own head.
But it was caught by Kanah who raised one his left hand, catching the tail with ease. He then kept dancing holding the left tail over his head.
Beneath him a stage that spread for nearly three kilometers. He looked as if a white ant had found its way inside an empty ball room with black floor. He moved emitting white light all across the entire city.
A shockwave traveled through the snake as it began to get more violent trying to pull its tail back.
Unable to break its tail free, the other four heads all moved towards Kanah and opened their mouths charging up Mana spheres. Aimed directly at him ready to fire at a moment's notice.
.
.
On the northern harbor, stood an old man, drenched by the raining water, caused by the snake's movement. He stood there with a bag of black pearls in his hands, looking at the snake with a smile on his face as his eyes turned completely black and tears escaped his eyes.
Behind the man, many more arrived on the harbor, watching the miracle happening in front of them. A soldier yelled out dropping his spear and shield. "THE HERO!" The people turned to him before looking back at the snake as the white glow on its head began to get brighter.
All of them began to chant in unison.
"The Hero." "The Hero." "The Hero."
Kanah looked at everyone as his smile grew and he began to dance faster and faster. Then as he slammed his right foot on the snake's head as the snake fired its Mana spheres at him.
In an instance everything was engulfed by the white glow.
Once it retreated in front of everyone was the snake, the four heads glaring at the top of its central head with their fangs and tongues out. It's tail still over its head, held by someone.
Kanah stood unfazed and unharmed on the snake's central head. The snake's tail in his left arm held over his head, his right arm extended to the side stopping one of the mouth with his little finger, his head lowered looking at the snake with a smile. His left leg was bent at the knee, pointing behind at the sea.
Kanah took a deep breath, letting go of the snake's tail and jumped off its head landing onto the harbor in front of the people. He then turned back to the snake who was now only a few times longer than Kanah.
The snake slowly bent down placing its heads at Kanah's feet. "Forgive me, my lord."
Kanah smiled as he looked at the snake, bending down placing a hand on its central head as the white glow intensified for a moment before disappearing.
He then stood up placing something in his pocket. "Rise up." The snake did as told as Kanah turned around facing the crowd with the snake standing behind him.
