Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 : Humiliate the scumbag

At this point, even a pig would understand what was happening.

Clearly, Yasmine used to work at Evan's company but left to start her own business for some reason. Now, Evan was trying hard to bring her back.

The result was obvious.

But!

Facing a wealthy man with some influence, who had already set up "witnesses," who would want to get involved in such trouble?

"You're dreaming!"

Yasmine clenched her fists tightly and said coldly, "You think you can force me back with this? Go ahead and call the police! Do you think I'm scared?"

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Just then, the sound of applause came from the crowd, followed by a mocking laugh. "You think hiring a few extras makes your plan foolproof? All that fat but no brains... Many times, the truth can be revealed even without surveillance, understand?"

Who was that?

Evan's face darkened as he looked toward the source of the voice.

Merritt ignored his gaze and walked straight to the spot where the two cars had collided.

After a quick glance, he pointed at the tire of the luxury car and said calmly, "Do you know why there's a black mark here? It's proof of a sudden brake."

"Kid! I'm warning you, don't meddle in this, or else..." Evan glared menacingly.

"What black mark?"

"There's nothing here!"

The so-called "witnesses" quickly ran over from different directions, trying to rub out the black mark with their feet, attempting to destroy the evidence.

Merritt didn't make any move to stop them. Instead, he waved his phone in the air. "You know, you don't always need surveillance cameras to catch something."

Damn it!

Evan's chubby face turned a deep shade of purple.

His men were busy destroying evidence, and not only did Merritt not stop them, but he also waved his phone around—proving he had recorded the whole incident!

Rage! Uncontrollable rage!

Evan couldn't believe that the carefully laid trap he had set up was ruined by some random guy whojust showed up out of nowhere.

Was he angry?

Seeing the faint purple streams of energy being released from Evan and absorbed into the Desire Pearl in his mind, Merritt was overjoyed. The angrier you get, the better, he thought.

"You..."

"By the way!"

Before the furious Evan could speak, Merritt turned his gaze to the crowd and pointed at Yasmine. "I have evidence, but I need more witnesses. The facts are clear—this was a premeditated frame-up. Unfortunately for them, I have the strongest evidence. I believeryone here has a sense of justice. Are you really going to stand by and watch this beautiful woman get bullied by these bad guys?"

A beautiful woman!

Beauty is a powerful card, often giving an edge in many situations!

Hearing Merritt's words, the crowd began to stir.

"I can testify, it was the car in front that braked suddenly. They are framing him!"

"I'm willing to be a witness!"

"Call the police! Even if it goes to court, I'll stand as a witness!"

"Not only should we charge him for breakingtraffic rules, but also for framing and slandering. Sue him to the end!"

"Does having money make you special? This is a society ruled by law!"

Merritt knew that among those stepping forward to testify, only a few had actually seen what happened. But the problem was, who cared about the truth?

As long as there were more witnesses on Yasmine's side, Evan would naturally be at a disadvantage. If it was determined that he had deliberately framed her, the consequences would be far more serious than a regular car accident, possibly even leading to criminal charges.

"Kid! Just you wait!"

Evan knew his plan had completely failed. He shot Merritt a venomous glare before turning to walk towards his car, clearly intending to make a quick getaway.

Leaving just like that?

Where in the world is it that easy?

Merritt wore a sinister smile and said, "With so many brave citizens willing to stand up, do you think you can just walk away? If you could get away with doing bad things so easily, what would be the point of the law?"
