After Ushida asked the question of whether they had malice or ill intent, Dante was sure that they were done for, that they were being dragged a trap and would soon get disposed of, but instead, they were taken to the big man himself, making it appear as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

Dante refused to believe Shirogane Ushida could miss a crucial detail while performing one of his interrogations. There was no doubt that he had seen through Mr. Pike and the others, but if that was the case, why would he allow them to meet his charge?
