DERRICK'S POV
Never had the morning sun looked so divine in my eyes. Its golden glow spread across the room like a warm blanket, illuminating the beautiful man curled beside me.
He was asleep, his hand resting on my chest. My eyes scanned his body before stopping at his neck, where the mark I had left on it was still fresh and still healing. It stood out perfectly and proud against his skin.
I had announced to the servants and to Timothy about the engagement, I informed them of my impatience to get married to him. He tried to talk me out of it, that it was too soon, but waiting another hour, another day was too long.
"Ours." My wolf growled.
Every part of him would completely be mine in less than twenty-four hours.
I traced small circles on his back, just enjoying the simple fact that he was here, breathing, safe… with me. This was the life I never thought I wanted. This was what those terrible days had led up to.
This was the whole point of existing.
