Chapter 3 - Discovering My Greatest Advantage

The grey colored humans looked at me with unmoved expression. The one banner who looked liked their leader started loading the crossbow he yielded once it was 20 blocks from my coordinates, I knew instinctively at this point if we fought I would die. My only hope was that they wouldn't turn out to be mechanically born hostile against me like the other monster I fought throughout the night. Within a blink of eye I started begging the person who looked like there leader with a naive look on my face "Please Sir I am innocent you have to help... I...I am willing to be your slave from now on working like a horse and ox for your excellency, please spare my life kind sir".

If I could and the situation permitted I would have bowed kowted till be forehead bleed and lick the grey captain looking persons shoe till they became shiny, sadly I was on a pillar and didn't know whether bowing and licking his shoe was possible in this world, atleast my inate knowledge told me it wasn't.

SWISH!

Suddenly the arrow spead past me missing me by half a block's lenth. My facial expressions of naivety, servitude and fear instantly disappeared and calm look replaced them. I immediately took out my sword now that hope for peaceful method was gone. Now that all the grey people were close by and loading there crossbows external knowledge poured in my brain triggered by getting clear look at there face.

They were called pillagers, and the one who looked like there leader was known as pillager captain.

SWOOSH. SWOOSH. THUD

Two arrows sped towards. one hit the pillar and went past me. I quickly equipped stone and started jumping and placing it down making last attempt with little to no chance of success to save my life by getting out of there shooting range. After pillaring 3 blocks up I noticed that the crossbow of the pillager captain was critically loaded giving up. I gave up on pillaring and lunged towards a nearby pillager equipping a shovel in my hand.

SWOOSH.

The arrow missing me went to where I was standing as I anticipated relying on my whole day of fighting experience. I slashed hard with my shovel at one of the pillagers standing in front of a cave's edge loading his crossbow knocking him down.

BAM! Swoosh. THUD.

It fell in the cave about 8 blocks deep. I could care less whether about the pillagers life and death. Immediately I rushed sidewards into the open by sprint and jumping simultaneously moving at max speed I could.

SWOOSH. SWOOSH. SWOOSH.

Three arrows charged towards me as I was running. Luckily for me they missed there mark. I started digging downwards, 3 blocks and I would get breathing space and more oppurtunity to maneuver about. Just as I dug three blocks down...

SWISH! THUD!

The arrow of pillager captain hit me... I knew I had finally run out of options and was dead.

I felt sensory organ flutter with pain as they had in response to previous damage to my body as well, which was under control. Though slowly indescribably huge amount of pain assaulted me.

No amount of torture could quantify the pain I felt at the moment. All my sensory organs had stopped responding, and this torment didn't stop.

Every moment had felt like an eternity of pain and no thought. My sense of time non existent or for that matter any thought was non existent.

After what seemed like infinite days or a single redstone tick of pure pain, the feeling of pain went away completely. My sense of sight and hearing also returned instantly along with. I was alive. external information poured in my brain, the phenomenon which happened was called "respawning"

Also with with external knowledge as reactant and my "death" and experience as catalyst I knew I was "immortal". I would respawn even if I died Infinitely many times. I calmly assessed this as greatest and the most strangest power in my possession, which I had come across till now. The reason it's the greatest power is self evident, as for strangest power if I died the so called "infinite" number of times, was I really immortal afterall even a world can't exist for "infinite" time based on mortals limited knowledge.

I remembered everything from my first moment of life, to this moment after my last struggle and so called death. The gap between death and respawning was exactly a single redstone tick.

My mind was completely settled within the redstone tick time after death, the pain after a certain extent didn't make my mind dull, but more sharp and clear.

My health bar and hunger bar were restored to their max capacity. external information flowed again in my mind, I respawned at the exact spot I spent my first moment of life at, my "world spawn" according to the external information.

I again got on the track of pursuing the illusory infinite power.

There was still quater of an hour before the night ended. I noticed three skeleton stone tuff and a squad of four zombies near the sparsely populated canopy of tree.

SWISH! SWISH! BAM!

The skeletons shoot two arrows towards me one missing me by few blocks distance while other squarely hit my arm and I lost three hearts. The squad of zombies was approaching me I expressionlessly rushed towards it barehanded.

BAM. SWISH! SWOOSH! THUD!

I attacked the skeleton landing a critical attack once before an arrow was shot which missed me. I attacked it again this when another arrow which was fired hit a zombie which was part of the squad pathfinding there way to me.

Eventually I killed the skeleton. I started sprinting away from the group of monsters. Having deficiency of open space to maneuver and also trying to conserve time I ran towards zombie squads location. Surprisingly the zombie which was hit ignored me and went after the skeleton which shot it. Even though I was belivered by the planned on researching on it later according to my order of priority at the moment. I planned on finding more information about the illagers while gaining foothold by increasing my resources at the moment on basis of maximizeing one's profit.
