Gor, the God Slayer!!!
This name hangs over the gods' heads like the sword of Damocles.
When Zeus proposed the name, the gods' attention was immediately captured.
The concept of the God Slayer is not entirely incomprehensible.
He is powerful, but so are the gods.
Among those present, most of the invited gods are dominant figures, many of whom possess remarkable combat abilities.
However, considering the power of previous god-slayers, it may not be easy to defeat these mighty deities, including the main gods and the Father God.
But what makes this god-slayer different is his weapon – the Black Death Sword. It is a weapon specifically designed to counter the gods!
Even the most powerful Heavenly Father God would surely die if struck by the Black Death Sword.
Moreover, the more gods the god-slayer kills, the stronger he becomes.
For thousands of years, many god-slayers have met their end, but as long as the Black Death Sword and the dark power behind it still exist, there will always be a new god-slayer ready to carry on their mission, doomed to walk down a path of mediocrity.
Although the Black Death Sword is immensely powerful, capable of granting a mere mortal the strength to kill a god, it also devours its host. Over time, it corrupts and consumes them, ultimately causing their demise in battle.
Since it's impossible to completely eradicate the God Slayer, the best course of action is to keep a distance and let him fend for himself.
Almighty City offers such a sanctuary.
Only the most influential gods are allowed to know about it and enter.
Meanwhile, the god-slayers are unaware of the location of Almighty City, and thus, they cannot pose a threat to the gods.
Nevertheless, every god-slayer remains a nightmare for the divine beings. They all deeply regret their own existence.
"Yes, you heard me right, the new holder of the Black Death Sword, God Slayer Geer, has appeared!"
"The God of Magic informed me of this news."
As Zeus noticed the gods' attentiveness, a smile spread across his face.
But unlike his expression, the faces of the gods were grim.
There was no trace of amusement.
The entire venue fell silent, so still that a pin could be heard dropping to the floor.
"But everyone, don't worry," Zeus continued, "God Geer won't be able to find Almighty City!"
"This place is secret, known only to us, the gods!"
"As long as we remain inside and no one leads him here, this butcher will never find us!"
With the atmosphere calm again, Zeus raised his wine glass, smiling reassuringly at the gods.
Aaron, however, smiled and shook his head.
"What's wrong?" Wanda asked, her curiosity piqued.
Aaron didn't respond immediately, signaling for the discussion to continue.
He already understood what Zeus was up to.
Bringing up God Slayer Geer wasn't just for show—it served a deeper purpose.
"Yes, for everyone's safety, it's best we avoid stepping outside for now."
"Anyone who leaves the Almighty City could attract the God Slayer's attention."
"We shouldn't leave this safe place, should we?"
"As for the magic net… we'll let our believers try it out. There's no need for us to take risks ourselves."
Zeus looked around, seeking support for his perspective.
"I agree that it's not wise to venture out right now. At least once the god-slayer faces backlash, we can step out again."
Soon, the first god to agree was Jesus, the God of Carpentry, a powerful Heavenly Father-level God, akin to the God King of Tupai.
One by one, other Heavenly Fathers joined in—Jade Emperor, Brahma, and other mighty Heavenly Father gods also supported Zeus' decision.
The God Slayer was a problem.
The magic net was another.
They didn't want too many powerful Heavenly Father-level gods appearing, as that would threaten their own standing.
While they were open to letting other gods experiment with the magic net, this kind of experimentation had to be carefully controlled.
If every god were able to access unlimited energy through the magic net, their positions would be in jeopardy.
Unknowingly, due to the emergence of the magic net, the divine issue had turned into a battle between old and new powers.
The old Father Gods wanted to maintain their positions, while the main gods and lesser gods sought to rise in power and status.
With the appearance of the magic net, cracks began to form in the fragile peace that had long existed between the two sides.
There was no unity among the gods.
In fact, many issues in the divine world were drawn from reality.
For example, in the Egyptian pantheon, contradictions abound among the Nine Pillars Gods, with some gods being sealed by their counterparts.
Amit, the villainous crocodile goddess from the Moonlight Knight saga, is one such sealed god, with strength comparable to the Nine Pillars Gods.
Not all villains in the pantheon had been dealt with.
Some, like Tianjin Wengxing, even had the privilege of entering the Council of Gods.
They secretly harbored their own schemes against their peers.
The evil gods were plotting.
Some neutral gods, as well as good gods, would seize any opportunity to grow stronger.
Thus, when many of the Heavenly Fathers agreed with Zeus, some gods gave disdainful glances.
Some even raised objections.
"The God Slayer Geer isn't as strong as we feared. What we should worry about is the sword he wields."
"We could organize a coalition army to eliminate the God Slayer ahead of time!"
"In the meantime, we should focus on developing more believers to grow our power."
"No, no, no! You're wrong!" Zeus interjected firmly. "Don't forget—his goal is eternity!"
"The first to achieve eternity will be granted a wish."
"And eternity is the most powerful god in this universe!"
"Think about it—what wish would a god-slayer make?"
"For instance… what if he wishes for there to be no gods left in the world?"
"If he gets his wish, you, you, and you—along with me—will all fade away like clouds."
"So forget about it!"
"If he learns the key to eternity, things will become far more troublesome."
Zeus' words struck a nerve.
Eternity was a mountain no god could ever cross.
He could easily wipe out all the gods present at this meeting!
Even if a few gods might put up a fight, most would surely perish.
Only a few mighty Father Gods might stand a chance of surviving, but even they would inevitably fall.
The gods' faces grew more anxious as they realized the gravity of the situation.
Perhaps they shouldn't expand their believers just yet.
Gaining strength was important, but not at the cost of their lives.
Better to proceed cautiously and improve gradually.
Zeus, meanwhile, looked at Aaron with an air of pride, almost as if saying, "Look! I'm the smartest one here! I've solved your little concerns effortlessly."
At that moment, Zeus addressed Aaron directly. "God of Magic, you understand the significance of this matter, don't you?"
"Now that you're in Almighty City, you and your mortal companions can enjoy the same privileges as other gods."
"This city boasts the finest food, wine, and the most beautiful women."
"There's no need to go out and deal with this mess."
Zeus suddenly remembered something and snapped his fingers.
"Oh, I forgot! You've only recently become the God of Magic in Asgard. There's still so much you don't know."
"Perhaps I could enlighten you about eternity."
"He who rules eternity is the most powerful god at the center of the universe. Your magic cannot resist his might."
"For your own good and for the sake of everyone, it's best to set aside the magic net for now. Shall we return to the discussion?"
Aaron shook his head. "I'm afraid I can't accept your offer. I have to return."
"No, no, that's not acceptable. If the God Slayer finds our location through you, or reaches eternity, that would be catastrophic."
Zeus' expression grew cold, and he prepared to use his power to suppress this bothersome individual.
Aaron was too arrogant and far too conspicuous.
If he wasn't controlled, his presence would severely challenge Zeus' authority.
"I'm sure everyone would agree, right?" Zeus handed the decision to the others.
Though the gods didn't speak, the tension in the air conveyed their stance.
Compared to the magic net, they were far more reluctant to allow the God Slayer to reach eternity.
With a villainous smirk, Zeus turned his attention back to Aaron.
Aaron waved a hand, signaling Amora and the others to hold back, then said with a smile, "Are you sure I can't leave?"
"I just don't want to be caught by the God Slayer."
"Are you sure?"
"Definitely sure!"
"Then if I tell you Geer is heading to Asgard, and if you stop me, he'll reach Asgard successfully and defeat the gods there to take control of Bifrost…"
"What!!!"
"Geer is heading to Asgard?"
Zeus' face paled at the realization.
While others may not have known, he certainly did.
Bifrost was the key to eternity!
If Aaron's words were true, there was real trouble.
Could the gods of Asgard stand against Geer?
He wasn't sure.
But he couldn't afford to gamble.
Once Asgard loses the God of Magic and is overtaken by the God Slayer, they would all be in grave danger.
Aaron had no intention of continuing this dance with the gods.
He stood up and began walking toward the exit.
The eyes of the gods followed him.
Without a signal from Zeus, the golden-armored guards didn't dare to move.
Zeus' eyes flickered, and he finally allowed Aaron to go.
"Tell Heracles to leave for Earth immediately. He should team up with the gods of Asgard to fight the god-slayer Geer!"
"This is his chance to earn merit!"
"Yes, Lord Zeus!"
Once Aaron left Almighty City, the gods' meeting would come to an abrupt end.
The gods no longer felt like celebrating or enjoying themselves.
The threat of Geer, the God Slayer, had left them restless.
"How about… we send an army to Asgard as well?"
But this proposal was met with silence from the gods.
"Actually, we don't need to worry too much. Don't forget, the God of Magic and the magic net…"
Yes!
With this remark, the gods' anxiety eased somewhat.
The God of Magic's power was said to rival that of Li Gong.
Asgard was essentially protected by two powerful top-tier Heavenly Father-level gods!
Together with other gods.
Maybe Gor the God Slayer wasn't such a threat after all.
With this thought, the gods' minds began to shift.
If the danger wasn't truly dangerous, then it was time to experiment with the magic net.
Earth.
Spain.
This is the primary place of worship for the goddess Elche on Earth. The goddess Elche holds a significant presence here.
Although the people may not currently believe in the goddess Elche—many may even follow Jesus more—there is still a substantial number of her devotees in the region.
On this particular day, all those who believed in the goddess Elche experienced a vivid dream in which the elusive, mysterious goddess appeared.
In that moment, her ethereal form felt incredibly real.
Within the dream, the goddess Elche guided them to sign a pact—this pact was the magic web contract promoted by the Magic Bureau and certain high-ranking officials in the past.
However, compared to the Magic Bureau and the higher-ups, those who pursued freedom paid little attention to these efforts.
But now, the goddess Elche herself descended in an oracle, and many were willing to obey her will. In their dreams, they signed the contract, and upon waking, they began experimenting with the magic net.
It was then that they discovered its magic!
At the same time, in the ancient lands of Mexico, the native peoples, though few in number, still maintained a connection to their ancient gods.
Though their civilization had long since diminished, a rare number of people continued to believe in their ancient deities. These individuals, too, were summoned by the great and ancient Feathered Serpent God.
They, too, received an oracle. Their mighty god promised to bestow extraordinary power upon them, enabling them to resist the enemies who oppressed them.
Thus, the magic net found its way into the eyes of the Aztec remnants.
This was not limited to just the Aztecs. The magic net also reached the Dragon Kingdom, Oceania, Greece, and, of course, Christianity, which has the most followers.
Almost simultaneously, the faithful of each region received the message from their respective gods.
Although, in modern times, fewer people truly believe in gods, the foundation remains.
These gods, in turn, adopted the approach of casting a wide net. As long as they knew that they existed, they would spread the magic web contract to those who had even the slightest belief in them.
To increase the number of magic net contractors, they began the first round of the battle for believers.
Once manipulated and deceived by the gods, and even sacrificed at will, these mortals had now become the objects of competition among the gods after Aaron's arrival on the scene.
Not only on Earth, but also in other star systems, there were believers of planetary gods.
Aaron had made the right choice. With this trip alone, the number of contractors in the magic net had skyrocketed.
The magic power was growing exponentially, and its influence was steadily expanding.
