Chapter 8 - Chapter 7

Every weekend, it became a routine for Yibo to spend time with his mama and gege at the Xiao mansion. Sometimes, Xiao Zhan would be the one visiting the Wang mansion instead, spending his weekend there. This arrangement brought the families closer, as they got used to being together regularly.

Occasionally, when both Madam Xiao and President Wang were free from their work at the company, or even if just one of them had a break, they would join the kids during their bonding time. Before anyone knew it, days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, passing by in the blink of an eye. The bond between the four of them grew stronger with each passing day, making it seem like they had always been one big family from the very start.

It has been decided that the Xiao mansion at Henan will be passed down to the late President Xiao's older sister, Zhan's aunt, who will be living there with her family of six.

Today marks a special day that everyone has eagerly awaited. Madam Xiao and Xiao Zhan are finally moving into the Wang mansion to live with Yibo and President Wang.

Yibo, sitting well-behaved on the couch in the living room, can't hide his enthusiasm. He's munching on cookies and sipping juice, but his mind is elsewhere. Although the TV is on, nobody is really watching it. Yibo's thoughts are focused on showing his gege the room he helped set up.

Yibo had been deeply involved in choosing the furniture and decorations for the room, wanting everything to be just perfect.

The room's theme was picked out with Zhan's preferences in mind. Yibo knew how much his gege liked those colors and wanted to make the space feel comfortable and welcoming. He could hardly wait to show off the room and see Zhan's reaction.

As he nibbled on another cookie, Yibo's excitement grew even more. He had put so much thought into every little detail, from the soft bedding to the stylish curtains. He even picked out a few decorations that he thought would make Zhan happy. Just imagining his gege's smile made Yibo feel proud of his efforts.

The anticipation made it hard for Yibo to sit still. He kept glancing toward the door, hoping to hear the sound of the car pulling up. In his mind, he was already planning how he would take Zhan by the hand and lead him upstairs to proudly show off the room he helped create.

When the sound of a car engine finally reached his ears, Yibo's eyes lit up. He put his juice cup down and hopped off the couch, unable to contain his happiness. His heart raced with excitement, knowing that in just a few moments, his gege would be walking through the door. Yibo took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but the big grin on his face gave him away.

He could hear some movement at the entrance as the door opened. Yibo immediately perked up, his small hands gripping the edge of the couch as he leaned forward to get a better view.

The sound of footsteps and soft voices signaled that his mama and gege had arrived. Yibo couldn't help but bounce on his toes, barely holding back the urge to rush over and hug them.

Finally, when Zhan appeared in the doorway, Yibo's excitement overflowed. With a bright smile, he ran toward his gege, wrapping his arms around him while looking at his mama with a wide smile.

"Gege! Mama! You're here!" Yibo exclaimed.

Zhan chuckled softly, bending down to hug Yibo back, ruffling his hair affectionately.

Yibo giggled with this action. "I have something to show you!"

He took Zhan's hand and began leading him toward the stairs without wasting a second.

Madam Xiao and President Wang shared a fond smile, watching the two boys interact. It warmed their hearts to see how naturally they had grown close.

Madam Xiao placed a few bags down and turned to her soon to be husband, who nodded approvingly. Moving in together had been a big decision, but seeing how happy Yibo was made them feel reassured.

Not only Yibo, but also Zhan who was obviously very happy even though he doesn't show it in his facial expressions that much.

Yibo led Zhan up the staircase with determined steps, his excitement barely contained. As they reached the hallway leading to Zhan's new room, which was just beside Yibo's, the little one looked up at his gege with sparkling eyes.

"Close your eyes!" he instructed, earning a curious look from Zhan.

"Alright," Zhan agreed with a soft laugh, closing his eyes as Yibo guided him carefully.

After a few steps, Yibo finally stopped in front of the room. "Okay, you can open them now!" he announced after pushing the door open wide.

When Zhan opened his eyes, he was greeted by a room bathed in red, white, and black, a perfect balance of his personality. The bed was neatly made with plush pillows, and a few framed photos adorned the wall.

Zhan looked around, clearly impressed.

"Did you do all this?" Zhan asked.

Yibo nodded proudly. "I helped! I picked the colors because I know gege likes them. Do you like it?"

"I love it. You did an amazing job, Bo-di. Thank you." Zhan smiled and pulled Yibo into a tight hug.

They settled in comfortably and asked one of the maids to bring Yibo's iPad so they could play some games to pass the time while waiting for lunch. It would be their first meal together since moving in, and both of them were excited.

They played and laughed, their carefree voices filling the room as the staff downstairs busied themselves preparing the meal. After a while, they were called down for lunch.

Hand in hand, they descended the stairs, still giggling and chatting about random things that only kids would find amusing. Madam Xiao and President Wang watched them with fond smiles as they entered the dining room.

Once seated beside each other at the dining table, they greeted their parents before turning their attention to the food. Zhan, being the attentive big brother he was, took it upon himself to serve Yibo. He reached for the dishes that Yibo's little arms couldn't quite get to yet, carefully placing portions onto Yibo's plate.

"Thank you, gege! You're the best!" Yibo chirped happily.

Zhan only nodded, offering a small smile in response.

"Hmm," he said simply before serving himself.

The family began eating, occasionally chatting about lighthearted topics and enjoying the warmth of their first shared meal in their new home.
