We reached the southeastern edge just as the moon dipped behind the crystal cliffs.

The place was quiet—only the sound of wind rustling the leaves and water trickling between rocks.

If the Demon city was a racing heartbeat, this place was its final breath—still, distant, and cold.

And there he was.

Lucen.

Sitting on a large stone, shoulders hunched, eyes blank as he stared at the glittering ravine. His face was cloaked in shadow, but I could feel the storm in his gaze.

The moment he saw us, his body tensed.

But not because of me.

Because of them.

"So it's official now, huh?" he said bitterly, slowly rising to his feet. "The three of you, together. Did you come to finish what you started earlier? Or just to witness how wrecked I am?"

"Lucen, stop." I tried to step forward, though I was still being carried by Sylas. "I didn't come here to fight. I came… to talk. With you. With all of you."
